One of the very first misfit songs I ever heard and one of my favorites.....next to Die die my darling. I remember we use to play this song in one of my first crappy bands. I had no idea what the fuck half of the lyrics were that Glen was singin' so I just made up my own. No one knew the difference any way so nobody gave a fuck!!
This was way before the convenience of the internet. We had to do that quite often when it came to figuring out song lyrics!

Seriously one of their most underrated songs imo & also one of my favorites, even though some bandmembers didn't really like how different this album was from their original sound, but I always liked it. I think it's awesome how you can hear Danzig's transition towards metal, which is also what ultimately led to their splitup, but whaddayagonnado... 🤷🏻‍♀️

danzig said in samhain era interview he did like the buried in the mix vocals of earth ad. i think this compared to walk among has a noisier sound that in itself is ominous and cryptic, more low end

Vocal overdubs

its a low growl. I credit that to SPOT. He made the Misfits sound like the Misfits in a live situation.

Those are vocal overdubs. They dubbed moaning, groaning, growling and howling into the track and buried it just under the main mix. This technique was further utilized in Samhain. Great effect. Conjures a genuinely hellish atmosphere of terrible dread. Further proof of Glenn's genius.

The Misfits also utilized the low growling, howling etc on the version of Halloween that's on collection II. That's the version that was on the single I believe.
