though i like the misfits better than samhain to a degree, except maybe initium which is on par withearly misfits, i'd say the version of this song on i think it was on the original final descent album from the 90's. it was removed in later versions of the album, and a shittier quality version is found on the unholy passion ep, anyway the drums are much better on that version which is why i like it better, even compared to the original

The Danzig era was by far the best of their recordings. I saw Danzig play some misfits songs along with Doyal a few years back and compared to the Jerry Only fronted version of the band I saw a year later, I gotta say Glen Danzig is the lesser of the two when it comes to live shows. Jerry sounded way better and had twice the stage presence. Dont get me wrong,DanzigMisfits is my favorite but OnlyMisfits jams live.

Heh I don't think the Samhain version is horrible. If it was a song released originally, it would be pretty good. However, in comparison, it really doesn't hold up to the original in any way, shape or form. Not even vocally... The thing for me, that makes it really not on the same wavelength is the total lack of bass like the original... or more precisely the muddy and indistinguishable bass in the samhain version.

samhains version is obviously more darker and ties in with initium and it sounds great. but this version is the better song imo

It would be much better if it wasn't such a bad recording, as much of the samhain material is; Exception being November Coming Fire which is much clearer.

What compounds things is that Danzig overdubbed all damian's guitaring and only the initial releases of their first two releases are damian's guitar...all subsequent releases were overdubbed by Glenn.

Even with all that, the bass is just distortion... you can't make it out like you can on this version. You can probably chalk that up to substandard recording with a drummer playing bass (eerie von). Eerie got much better at bass eventually, but that wasn't until really the height of Danzig.

Samhain is the better band but you’re right their version of this song isn’t as good.
