Ministry - We Believe Lyrics

Standing round the table
Spinning fables
And signing autographs
Can't you hear them laugh
Ha ha ha ha ha
In their secrecies
They plan their strategies
It's called hypocrisy
And we believe

Mornings
They tell me everything
That I need to know
Or I care to know
Well I can visualize
The look in your eyes
The horror
As the plane goes down
And the siren sounds
We can't believe
We can't believe

In the east where the bear is dancing
In the west where the eagle flies
In the middle we stand our ground
The forces pull us down down down

Tensions on both sides
We're paralyzed and victimized
We're terrified and petrified
Demoralized and mortified
Of genocide and suicide
And patricide and cyanide
We're pacified by every side
Force-fed pride and then we die for them
We die for them

In the east where the bear is dancing
In the west where the eagle flies
In the middle we stand our ground
The forces pull us down down down

We believe

    Band: Ministry
    Song: We Believe
    Album: Twitch
    Year: 1986
    Origin: Chicago, Illinois, USA
    Genre: Industrial

This album could be a real shock to those who only know the later guitar-based Ministry albums, but the 'Twitch' album is a perfectly logical predecesor to 'The Land Of Rape And Honey', and a great PURE electronic industrial album. This is not "pop" electronic by any means. Although the 'With Sympathy' album most certainly is pop.🙂But I actually still like that album as well. For me, everything Ministry put out from 1983-1996 is quality stuff. 'Filth Pig' (1996) was their last good album. After Filth Pig though, they proceeded to put out nothing but PURE SHIT. I'm sorry, but there's no other way to word it. By the way, I saw the boys live in December of 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia. What a great night it was. They were amazing! Chris Connelly was still with them, coming out and singing "So What", and Mike Scaccia was rocking out on the guitar. They even played "Supernaut" (originally released in an EP under the band name "1000 Homo DJs" back in 1990). It is a Black Sabbath song from 1972, that Ministry gave a nice industrial workover to. Hail to the good old days! True counterculture scenes in music are now dead forever, as we plunge into the age of smartphone virtual reality land and millenial morons. Praise the Buddha and long live death.

  24. P.... A....

Anyone know the origins of the cover art photo?

    P.... A....

Paige Augusti it’s a motion effected photo of Al covered in flour or starch to create a statue like effect. It was commissioned for the album so the origin is the photo shoot itself.

    P.... A....

i used to listen to this album in the 80"s. love it!!

  49. A.... S....

very cool song , intelligent music pure industrial ,ministry one of my favorite bands.

  50. R.... K....

Al took a huge leap forward from "Sympathy" to this. Much darker & trippier. From here on he ploughed into even heavier waters & the Industrial sound was born.

    R.... K....

I do not know about taking a huge leap... more like going down a different rabbit hole .

    R.... K....

Rusty Kuntz - sorta, the leap was largely the result of Al understudying with Adrian Sherwood, and using that knowledge to give expression to an even more cynical and heavy attitude, evolved from the Cold Life / Halloween sound that was largely present even before With Sympathy. But Al reacting against WS and with his new studio chops and collaborators, Twitch was the first full statement of his first real vision.

    R.... K....

After Twitch, Al took a huge leap into a toilet that got flushed. Perhaps a top 10 musical failure of all time?....?🤔

    R.... K....

The industrial sound was born years before that. This is a great track though, and time period for them. I wish it had lasted longer, as many of us do. Much cleaner sound...

    R.... K....

@TheAnalPunisher Frontline Assembly old stuff, too.

  51. A.... A....

    Mindblowing to the core***
