Ministry - I'm Falling Lyrics

First last night we're riding home
With friends in a big blue car
For this man fed us rubbish
As if it were caviar
We told him, 'sir, please go away!'
'we're innocent of crimes!'
He hit me with his black nightstick
And all I heard were cries

I'm falling

I asked her for a date one night
She thought it'd be a laugh
I'd take her to a restaurant
And then up to her pad
I waited at my house that night
For her phone call to come
She'd gone off with a ruffian
And he came by with a gun

I'm falling

I'm falling
Yes I'm falling

  1. A.... C....

This band has have keep in this way

  2. d.... r....

Again and again and again and again....

  3. J.... J....

This is the core of the 80's! The bass line, the dark mood... fantastic.
(I can imagine Smith singing this song perfectly)

  4. P.... B....

This is like a speeded up version of Hawkwind's Master of the Universe.

  5. m.... k....

    Nice Joy Division following.

  6. W.... ....

👋🏻🎱👄🎱🤚🏻 love this track so much ty. ....miss the vinyl :(

  7. T.... L....

Policeman fed them garbage if it were caviar. And hit them with his nightstick. Typical policeman.

  8. T.... ....

Played in 1981 at our rock only club

  9. R.... T....

10x better than their metal junk

  10. R.... B....

    Never 2 old 2 learn

  11. D.... S....

Ask Uncle Al about this track, and their debut album. It's a saddening, maddening, yet hilarious conversation.

FF to 2019 and oh boy, did we have a gem in the history of Ministry.

  12. U.... C....

This sound!!! Beautiful atmosphère Dark New Wave...

  13. D.... ....

He picked up a LOT of influences from then Uk.

  14. C.... S....

    🦇🖤

  15. J.... W....

Would it be cool if Al could go back in time to 1981...he would be like whoa...

    J.... W....

Jim Williams and it’s happening on RSD!!!

  16. M.... D....

Al copped it all..... Jumping a train in a forest ...... Strange xD

    M.... D....

    With Devo pulling the strings......

  17. O.... W....

The bass sounds like Joy Division, never really heard of this band, nice sound, from what I gather from youtube comments they became crap later?

    O.... W....

Optimistic Whovian if you don't like metal, then I guess their later material is 'crap'. They evolved from this into ebm and industrial, and eventually to metal and politically motivated thrash metal. They even released an entire album dissing trump. I personally like their later material because I'm a metal head but I also like electronic and new wave so I love their earlier stuff like this too.

  18. L.... Z....

So there's post punk Ministry, synthpop Ministry, industrial Ministry, and thrash metal Ministry, (sometimes mixed and matched and thrown together in stew of mad genius, lol.) I love how they went through so many styles, even though I'm not much a fan of where they are now, I think it's cool and interesting to see a band evolve so much.

    L.... Z....

Ministry now is a former shell of itself. Well Al is because he can never keep a constant band together. I mean anything before the year 2000 I enjoy alot. Anything after 2004 their music starting "falling" into utter "let's see how fast we can play thrash music". I'm a Ministry fan, but not much of their newer albums after 2004.

    L.... Z....

@Greg Spradlin Because it was always just about him. That's why he changes band members so much. Ministry was always his project and baby. There never was any Equality with his band members.

    L.... Z....

@Hussein Abdulmalik I just want Al to perform his old ministry one final time!

    L.... Z....

@Alan Hicks Me too but it's never gonna happen...

  19. H.... A....

He loved all the New wave English Groups at the time, but changed because the money was in Metal and not this. So he actually sold out to make money with metal instead of music like this just to make Money and lied about being forced by the record companies as a cover story.

    H.... A....

Yeah man I have to agree with you. But All has been around for a very long time so it's within reason he's covered quite a few different music styles. And yes the money is in heavy metal.

  20. R.... P....

    5 pueltolicans,3panameños,2 cubanos,1 venezolano=11 manitas abajo....ineptos.

  21. j.... ....

    Yeh but not as dull

  22. B.... D....

Damn, I thought I was listening to The Cure, great song I like it. What would really trip me out would be for Robert Smith of The Cure to record a song like N.W.O. or Stigmata. LOL!!

  23. s.... 1....

Reminds me of "Primary" by the Cure.

  24. A.... F....

Ministry and Killing Joke both went in the same direction

    A.... F....

    Interesting observation

    A.... F....

Two of the greatest bands when they were at their creative peaks.

  25. M.... J....

Agree, goth Ministry vs even the 1983 "With Sympathy" synth-rock Ministry... Sounds like The Cure somewhat, Joy Division a little more but it's still classic Al Jourgensen above all. Remember "Cold Life" (according to Al himself) was the first song he wrote and recorded. Influenced? Yes, but still Al Jourgensen us an original. Here's a take on Al and Ministry I like: https://youtu.be/oydC-mG2qQA

  26. P.... ....

How the fuck is this not on my "12-Inch Singles" cassette?

  27. B.... D....

Without googling and going on just memory I doubt very seriously *ANYBODY BUT UNCLE AL* can sit back and say they took on every musical genre(very hard to do).Love or hate him he's amazing.

  28. L.... I....

According to most lyric sites the line at 1:58 is "and then up to her pad"...is it just me who hears "and then a Turkish bath"?

    L.... I....

    Lol agreed!!! Definitely Turkish bath.

    L.... I....

Then I took his pad .not up her pad

  29. C.... L....

    Fak yeah

  30. T.... ....

Sounds like The Forest from The Cure.

  31. B.... ....

    I farted, I farted, I farted.

  32. j.... ....

lol,new-wave(cold-wave?) before they dicovered the power of riffs! And turn more industrial . For me ministry starts in 88. and we're at top since a decade. AWESOME!

  33. L.... ....

    a rarity a ..rareariti ? yes ..no .. maybe

  34. c.... t....

Released when I was three years years old. Found out about Ministry in 1992, 11 years later....

  35. B.... K....

as a #MINISTRY fan I love all their awesome music from then and now!

  36. S.... H....

    that's nice

  37. S.... J....

no way you can convince me that uncle al was forced to do with sympathy, which was a great album--he is just embarrassed to admit it

    S.... J....

Sean Johnson well this and 2 other songs kinda show what he wanted to do originally. I think their is even a goth rock version of a with sympathy song floating around here too unless it was taken down. Considering his musical taste, this seems more like what he wanted WS to be not the 3rd rate Depeche Mode album it was

    S.... J....

Archaon The EverchosenThis Was better than Depeche mode and With Sympathy was better than and still holds up better then the other artists of that Era in my opinion.

  38. S.... J....

total cure ripoff but i like it

  39. N.... ....

He such a liar, he said Arista convinced him to sing with an english accent, but this wasn't even released by Arista

    N.... ....

Grampa Al just wants to lie to cover up how he feels cuz he thinks that if all of the metal fans knew he also liked music like this they would diss him and not show up to the show.....but then again, everyone in TOPY/AIN lies..... Megson is the biggest bullshit artist of them all......

    N.... ....

Everything out of his mouth is a lie. His wife at this time said he used the accent to try and sound like the bands he liked. She compared it to Mick Jagger singing in an American accent and how no one cares about that.

    N.... ....

Al's take on what went down with Arista is exaggerated and def partially fabricated.

    N.... ....

    @Kim VanFelton Totally fabricated.

    N.... ....

I always wonder if these guys believe their own bullshit or if they just never anticipated the Internet making it so easy to track down early material/interviews and figure out they were lying. Dave Gahan lied about some of his early work in similar ways once he got the tough guy grunge persona.

  40. D.... ....

It sounds just like The Cure, "A Forest" in particular. It is an excellent and great single!

    D.... ....

The bass sounds like a lot of indie British rock back then, The Cure, Joy Division/New Order, Depeche Mode etc etc, all the dark 80's bands.

    D.... ....

    Totally

    D.... ....

great ! serious music , i missed this. before i was born.

    D.... ....

let me guess, some of the fans high on drugs, and the creators sober.

    D.... ....

And with a little Wire inside, especially in the vocals. :)

  41. A.... V....

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  42. E.... c....

cuando me iba imaginar que asi fueron los comienzos de Ministry? ... hay que ubicarse en ese tiempo que pasaba joy division, bauhaus, the cure ... que bien que ellos también encontraron su camino! buena rola!

  43. T.... ....

I like what Ministry was AND what they became later on. Mainly cause I'm a fan of both New Wave and Industrial Metal music so I can never pick just one side.

    T.... ....

Greedyselfish97...

    T.... ....

    Yeah I agree

    T.... ....

    good for you

    T.... ....

I pick the 1981 to 1985 New Wave side....

  44. L.... R....

never heard this before. Wow this sounds great.

funny though....from "I'm Falling" to "Thieves" jajajajajajaja big leap

  45. M.... ....

I would love to hear a whole album from this time period!

    M.... ....

Machiventa : it's called 'With Sympathy'

  46. J.... S....

    The Cure - Pornography

    J.... S....

i always got the opposite from the cure

    J.... S....

Wow, wow slow down... You call Ministry posers? They're actually quite decent. How about that Marylin Manson plastic metal Cooper wannabe barbie or that buttfucks fetish-goths from Clan Of Xymox?

    J.... S....

early Ministry is good but yeah posers from the beginning. Let's start with that fake British accent lol If you write pop songs just for the money like he claims then...you...are...a...poser.

    J.... S....

He had to start somewhere I guess. Not a bad start...

    J.... S....

    The Cure - Forest :P

  47. a.... a....

it is quiet strage how a band could change its style  over the years..honestly i prefer this version of ministry which is near to darkwave...

    a.... a....

    +ale andrei
I agree , With Sympathy was also a great shot , but then Ministry's music turned out somethinhg that never became my cup of tea. Although I'm a fan of Skinny Puppy.

    a.... a....

Agreed, not huge one Ministry's stuff after the mid/late 80's but Skinny Puppy never disappointed me....BRAP ON

  48. j.... s....

cool!loved Ministry until "twitch" album.what came afther, aint my cup of tea.

  49. j.... s....

cool!loved Ministry until "twitch" album.what came afther, aint my cup of tea.

    j.... s....

You should give a listen. I went from Bauhaus, Love and rockets to the REAL Ministry

  50. P.... R....

on what 12inch vinyl has this been released? bought the wrong version for much $$ on discogs :p

  51. A.... ....

Oh, snap! Uncle Al's gone all post-punk on us here! Sounds like something that Bauhaus or Siouxsie and the Banshees would write. Genre-wise, Ministry was all over the place during the 80's.

    A.... ....

+Akira625 well it was "post punk" fro Christ's sake.  The early 80s came after the late 70s

    A.... ....

+Akira625 Besides this is quite  a political track if you listen to the words whereas most of those other money-grabbing new wave assholes were too chickenshit to be real

    A.... ....

oh, really? Because political means real?

    A.... ....

They were post punk, Synthpop, And then Industrial.

    A.... ....

@Akira625 Yep, he was in all the right places;)

  52. D.... C....

    yeahhhh

  53. h.... ....

    love it

  54. w.... ....

Al is such a musical genius. Every genre he touches his hands on turns to gold. I think he could make A LOT of $$$ if he were to roll the dice & do some producing for rap & hip-hop albums.

  55. A.... R....

The Cure with something Joy Division's

    A.... R....

+emile235 it's only my first impact opinion, I didn't want to be so precise

    A.... R....

+emile235 It's probably influenced by The Cure or Bauhaus. Still flanged guitars and echoey drums are too awesome not to use!

    A.... R....

the bass guitar is similar to forest so it is similar to the cure but everything else is different

    A.... R....

It sounds like a straight up mash up of A Forest and Plastic Passion tbh. The vocals are not quite there, possibly because he couldn't pull it off and it would be too blatant. Many other bands had a "cure" phase after A Forest broke out, The Names did the same thing. This is extremely competently done though. Brilliant stuff.

    A.... R....

@Ashlii Prigmore Joy Division was the most notorious those days.

  56. M.... C....

This is cool even before they went rock metal

  57. k.... ....

You can feel a bit of the cure influences and Bauhaus

    k.... ....

I kinda hear a bit of peter murphy too

    k.... ....

    Joy Division!

  58. D.... P....

I'm falling sounds like the cure...and dats a good thing!

    D.... P....

maybe more like Killing Joke or Neon Judgement

    D.... P....

Nope, this is a straightforward Cure (17 seconds/faith) ripoff. Sounds like a mash up of a few cure songs of that era. Very competently done though! Love the song.

  59. A.... L....

wow, it dont even sound like his voice

  60. I.... ....

I guess this is actual proof that how With Sympathy sounded wasn't the musical direction Al wanted at the time, because this isn't poppy at all, it's straight up Goth and it's awesome. I still like some of With Sympathy, but I do find this early creepy sound to be superior.

    I.... ....

Wrong!...Cold Life 1981 he was using an English Accent. If anything if proves he is a liar.

    I.... ....

With Sympathy while not as dark as this still wasn't bubblegum pop either. Arista Records did promise Ministry they'd be an 'American Joy Division' - clearly that didn't pan out. I think Al doth protests too much about With Sympathy and I do think he very much wanted to make a synthpop album at the time - just maybe one that had a grittier and darker production.

    I.... ....

@Kim VanFelton Nah. He was just pissed he didn't become a New Wave Star with Wealth and Fame. That's why he changed, along with drugs, mental illness and punk rock friends ( example: Jello Biafra). Went into rebel mode and his music suffered in my opinion. With Sympathy is still his best work in my opinion. The only Ministry album I can listen to all the way through.

    I.... ....

@Hussein Abdulmalik agreed!!!. Al kinda just goes with what's popular, he's not the innovator that so many seem to think he is. I like bits and pieces of his later work but With Sympathy is his best overall full most listenable album.

    I.... ....

    Tommy conan Coates
That may be true to some extent, but industrial metal was not really a thing before Ministry. They pioneered the genre. Bands like NIN, Rammstein and Fear Factory owe a lot to their sound.

  61. b.... ....

    Sounds a little like Bauhaus

    b.... ....

Thank you...Bauhaus one of my fav's...I still wear my shirt now and then..once in a million someone knows who they were!

    b.... ....

Bauhaus if they had no talent. Bauhaus could actually play real instruments lol. I like this but Bauhaus are gods this is just good.

  62. S.... O....

I like classic Ministry better then any of their new music!

    S.... O....

Do you, SCOTT and haters of post  electronic Ministry have any idea what Al and Co. are about? Obviously not. Yall probly part of the great sheepdom. Listen. Understand. That whiny goth wo is me shit is nothing compared to what he speaks of.

    S.... O....

R Val Yeah. It's about crap garbage music. His new stuff.( The word music is too kind)... Sad!!

    S.... O....

I love all ministry , particular the album twitch. All ministry albums are good, they just became less consistent at making good music after psalms, Jorgensen is still makings bangers!

    S.... O....

Yes early ministry music is way better than the new metal they are now.

    S.... O....

Everything ministry released in the 2010s is soooooo bad! I consider classic ministry to be Dark Side of the Spoon and before, but post electronic ministry was great in the 90s

  63. g.... ....

    first album is very electro-pop!

    g.... ....

gillesnewwave : Sorry but you are using 'electro' as a misnomer. 'Tour de France' by Kraftwerk, is Electro

  64. S.... N....

I didn´t recognized this song in the 80´s. To bad; it´s great! I haven´t known that Ministry sounds this way in their beginning. Cool!

  65. s.... ....

    some change :)

    s.... ....

sidvic1ous THE BEAR. APPROACH S.. INFINITY!!!!!!

  66. C.... W....

Wow, really early Ministry, this sounds way cooler than their metal crap

    C.... W....

    not really

    C.... W....

Crap? Really?  That whiny goth crap? Get away from Air Supply and listen

    C.... W....

It is cooler than them becoming metal.
