Ministry - Filth Pig Lyrics
Well I started out younger at things that people start younger at
And a thousand days and nights of getting overexposed
Then someone asks, "How do you sleep at night?"
With the borrowed dreams from a broken past
You always wind up there
Another thousand pileups in the ugly name of morality
Fucking ugly, some creepy guy keeps asking
"How the fuck do you sleep at night?"
With a frozen dream and a borrowed hope that died
Filth pig, filth pig
I sleep with both eyes open
Filth pig, filth pig
A thousand more stories keep the fires and flames alive
So how the fuck do I dream at night?
With the memories of a borrowed death, the guilty past
Filth pig, filth pig
He sleeps with both eyes open
Filth pig, filth pig
He sleeps all right because he's a
Filth pig

Ministry Filth Pig Comments
Every single word of this this lyrics, I see myself in.
Top track , got me through the tail end of the nineties and big time booze and heroin addictions
Radical turn in album shift
I loved every track , groove laiden heavy heavy heavy ....
How did u sleep at night ?
a good plagiarism of a history of bad men
FUCK YOU!!!!!1!!11 THIS IS AMAAAAAAZINGGG!!!!!111!1
A History of Bad Men came out 10 years after this song. But yes, Melvins did play this riff first on Night Goat
First Album I ever Bought.
Ministry fans from everywhere shunned this album when it 1st came out (like me). I thought it was self indulgent muddy sludgy goo. Now, it's one of my favorite albums ever. Just shows-ta-go-ya, fickled fan's 1st impressions can often be mule-shit
"I started younger at things than people start younger at then 1000 days and nights are getting overexposed."
Oh shit someone's on the needle. I been there.
Explain!?!?!? What's the reference too??? I feel like I'm missing some lore.
That’s a bet. He started out with I.V. drugs way early in life. Then a bunch of days blur together, la. Hope the explanation helped. It kind of takes one to know one sometimes but you’re not missing much.
@Licenciado thanks for the explanation! Glad your clean and doing better!
You bet bro. Thanks for the encouragement it’s working. Much love
Black people still don't buy your records whatever happened to the guy Watched encourage the crowd to boo ice cube off the stage
yeah this is a bit too similar to Night Goat. It's funny cuz it's certainly different rhythmically but somehow it feels like that only makes the similarity more obvious lmao
It sounds like A History of Bad Men too. Almost like Ministry nicked a Melvins riff and they stole it back.
Impressive
I have so much love for this album.
Listen to this song while driving over 100 mph on highway. Incredible experience.
feels like godflesh
this is art dudes
Melvins guitar riff🤔
Almost.
This fucking guitar line OMFG !! I fucking love it. One of my favs from Ministry
Lol I still hear this shit !!
i can t belevet ! this is the best!
the beast album!the beast!
THE TOTAL SHYTE
Maybe I'm crazy but this is my favorite ministry album. Hell, it's one of my favorite albums in general. It's so distinct from everything else they've done and stands out. Not just in a funky sense. This album feels and plays like a mire of sticky, syrupy glue. Mud, grime, gristle, rust, coagulated blood. Reminds me of Atherosclerosis after dropping Alcohol and Angel Dust.
I also like the dark side of the spoon and the mind is a terrible thing to taste. They certainly figured out how to make it relatable for the adults and sarcastic enough for the younger generations.
its great when all is fuked in your life and you have boots and a desert to wonder till death
@vincent allen I have very good boots ill die in then no one will care but at least I was alive before I died.
@Desiigner good i need a new pair of boots
My favorite Ministry album oddly enough Jourgensen's least favorite. He was super depressed when he recorded it.
Al once said (around the time Houses of the Mole was released) The Land of Rape and Honey and Filth Pig were his favorite Ministry albums so I don't know where you got that from...
my first album of ministry , bang in my face
soundtrack to the election..
Did they sample the Melvins?
sugg sugg was melvins indeed
It's literally two common power cords used to hell by numerous bands..... It's bound to happen
Its 3-0 on the d string. It's in every tool song, deftones, pantera, messugah etc
It just sounds metal is impossible not use
3:21 Classical
predictive programming all the way
Underrated album.
underrated ? at his realease it was promoted with the mention album of the maturity ^^
Gnarly.
