Milsap, Ronnie - The Lovin' Kind Lyrics

Somewhere I heard these words one time
That love is like a clinging vine
Wrapping around your heart and around your mind
But I've never had to cling to you
Cause I have no fear of losing you
Our love is not a clinging vine
It's the lovin' kind

Somewhere I read these words one time
That love is like a glass of wine
Aging made it sweeter and so fine
But it's no better now than before
Cause we got the best there's nothing more
Our love is not a glass of wine
It's the lovin' kind

Let them write their fancy words
For people who have never heard
Or tasted a love like yours and mine

Ours is not a clinging vine
And it's certainly not a glass of wine
It's love and our love is the lovin' kind

Our love is not a clinging vine
And it's certainly not a glass of wine
It's love
And our love is the lovin' kind

Cont. It was also nominated at the ACMs, and marked the beginning of the end of country music as people knew it; he made huge impact w/ these & subsequent recordings. The result was that stars became far more willing to take chances and make slick yet versatile records. Ronnie continues to be one of the biggest influences on contemporary country & its acts as the King of Country-Pop. You're right on one thing though: 1973-6 Milsap was, to quote, "the Greatest Country Soul Singer EVER!"

Actually, although Ronnie continued to touch upon the sounds of country-soul from time to time, he had mostly made use of the blueprints laid down by Sir Elton's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" (GASP) and added R&B, soul, and gospel elements to form what is now known as country-pop. This album started that; it was groundbreaking, innovative, and a masterpiece. It was acknowledged as such by the CMAs, which gave him the triple-record-breaking 3rd win for Album of the Year.

    Mr Milsap & Elton,
Both played piano & very well,
No offense intended, but it is beyond disgusting to compare them on anything beyond that,
Your effort here is simply a reach
    Nice try tho
