This is one of my all-time favorite songs, and has been since it was first released, in 1978. It didn't get near as much airplay in Chicago at it ought to have, as WMAQ and WJJD were still warring for the Top Country station in the market spot, and usually only played the Top 40 crap, almost having to BEG the d.j.'s to play it!!! Thanks for posting it and reminding everyone what a great song it truly is, and remains so, to this day!!!!!

This is my favorite Ronnie Milsap song! I wonder if the gains on the recording were a little lower in studio because every internet post of this seems to require me to crank up max gain.

I think your right, the gains seem to be lower.

Great country song indeed! I think Hal David of Burt Bacharach fame wrote the lyrics to this song! I might be wrong but they also wrote "It Was Almost Like A Song" too!!
