Pure magic
I have no idea if a video was made of this song, but it'd be really cool, maybe a tear in one's eyes before it ends. It would be a dream come true to see how it'd work out. Ronnie won't show up much at all in this video, but he could make an appearance. The way I mapped this one, it won't be required in the first place, but there's bonus points if he's part of it.
Imagine a soldier going home on leave for Christmas and aboard a bus to be dropped off. The countryside has snow cover. His father is too ill to travel but mother is there. Before the song begins, other soldiers are singing another Christmas song and notices he's mostly silent and tries to cheer him up a bit. He assures the others he'll be o.k. and they shout as the bus leaves that they'll catch him "next year!" The intro begins as he starts his journey down the long, snow covered road. There's a huge mix of cartoon material and people enjoying the season, unrelated to the first scene. Whenever possible, the scenes correlates to the song! Where the "good cheer" is mentioned near the song's end, our soldier reappears and rings the doorbell. Momma answers and gives him a big emotional hug where the string instruments go at full volume (timing of this is critical!) then changes to him with Father and all. Finally, a very large "Merry Christmas" in cursive being written across the screen as the final 3 measures wrap it up.
