Milsap, Ronnie - My Heart Lyrics

I'll take a long vacation
I need a change of scenery
I'll see the sights; go out at night
There'll be no time for your memory

I'll get a new apartment
Make friends that don't know who you are
'Cause when I'm through, I'm really through
If I can just convince my heart

Oh, but my heart, says I'm not so smart
My heart tears my plans apart
My heart won't admit we're through
'Cause my heart; oh, my heart still belongs to you

I'll call some old phone numbers
And I'll throw a party for a star
I've made a vow, it's all over now
If I can just convince my heart

Oh, but my heart, says I'm not so smart
My hear tears my plans apart
My heart won't admit we're through
'Cause my heart; oh my heart still belongs to you

Oh, but my heart, says I'm not so smart
My hear tears my plans apart
Oh, my heart won't admit we're through
'Cause my heart; oh my heart still belongs to you

  10. j.... w....

ronnies good but hes not in the same class as merle haggard willie waylon george ect

    j.... w....

    I respectfully disagree, sir.

Though Merle and George had slightly-more #1's than Ronnie, Willie and George both have recorded new duets with Ronnie for his brand-new album, the Duets, because they view him as their equal, or better! Jennings and Jones were both close friends of, and they very much respected Ronnie Milsap! In the end, I agree with your satement, "Ronnie is not in the same class" as those other legends! ;)

If you're a fan of Ronnie, check out this never before seen interview. He talks about playing with Elvis, the best way to record music, and the struggle of staying on top. https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=G9N0JnaW5Pw

    L.... N....

House of Blues shitvis is a damn joke. Ronnie is too talented to even be MENTIONED in the same sentence as that sack of crap even if he did play with him back in the day

  26. j.... s....

country music isn't country without ronnie

  27. M.... B....

4 People are tone def.  Ronnie Milsap is and always will be one if not the greatest singer to be able to sing any genre of music.  Not too many can sing country, rock, rhythm and blues, gospel and do it well.

    M.... B....

countrygirl country musiclover You made fun of the person who spelled Ronnie's name wrong and you also made fun of the person who spelled deaf wrong. In my opinion, that is a form of bullying. I've had to deal with bullying all my life, due to being autistic. That is something I don't put up with.

    M.... B....

Kenny Dobbins yeah well looks like me and you both don't put up with bullying. I honestly think bullies should be in jail serving time

    M.... B....

countrygirl country musiclover Then you think you yourself should be in jail serving time. Calling people mean names, making fun of them and bullying them.

    M.... B....

Kenny Dobbins FOR THE LAST TIME I AM NOT A BULLY. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO A BULLY. SO I HAVE NO REASON TO THINK I SHOULD BE IN JAIL

    M.... B....

countrygirl country musiclover So you don't call calling people dumb shits is being a bully? I'm sorry, but is where you are wrong.

  28. m.... ....

A #1 hit for Ronnie Milsap on the Country & Western charts. It was the 508th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. It was also the #1 C&W song of 1980. I saw Ronnie Milsap on April 30, 1987 at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. He and T. Graham Brown opened for Kenny Rogers.

  29. A.... C....

Love this song I was 4 year old when it came out

  30. D.... R....

Two people have no taste in music

  31. p.... ....

    p.... ....

pittycross I always listen to Ronnie when I get depressed. best therapy in the world.

    p.... ....

It's a great song, brings back many wonderful memories for me. Have lost too many good people in my life.
    Take care Alberta, cheers.

  32. S.... ....

    "...for MORE THAN 3 weeks..."

  33. S.... ....

You're both wrong; Ronnie never had a single stay at the top for 3 weeks; 3 of his hits each did that: this (the #1 Billboard country single of 1980; Ronnie was the top singles artist that year), "It Was Almost Like a Song," and "Only One Love in My Life." "Daydreams About Night Things" got 2 weeks at the summit. (I think they should've had more weeks at #1, to be honest.) He had 4 other multi-week chart-toppers as well.

  34. p.... ....

My boys love listening to this song in the car, like myself.

  35. T.... B....

my heart say's i'm not so smart

  36. p.... ....

  38. l.... ....
