Milsap, Ronnie - I'm Playing For You Lyrics

The show is over, the footlights are dim
The roar of the crowd is faded again
It's just me and my eighty-eight ivory friend
Playing for you.

Maybe you've heard me on the radio
Maybe he was with you and holding you close
I can't help but wonder if somehow you know
I'm playing for you.

You always said, someday I'd make it
Well, I made it but it cost me you
Now every night there's part of all
The dreams we had in every song that I do.

Maybe you've heard me on the radio
Maybe he was with you and holding you close
I can't help but wonder if somehow you know
I'm playing for you.

The show is over, the stage is bare
The crowd is gone now and they're folding the chairs
But I'll keep singing my heart out, what else can I do
I'm playing for you.

I'm playing for you.
I'm playing for you.
I'm playing for you.
I'm playing for you...

clint8179 What i meant was that i think he should have got the exposure that George Jones,Ray Charles and others like them got.Example his lost in the 50s is only on cassette not CD.I really like Ronnie's styles and i say styles plural because he can sing anybody s song as good if not better.

Lost in the 50's was released on all formats back in the 80's!

@Nature's Finest p I want to make my point and I can't do it

Ronnie is many things, but, he is NOT under rated. From about the mid 70's until the late 80's he was one of the biggest stars in Country music. He won numerous awards and had 40 number 1 hits, made several TV appearances and ever played for the President. When a guy has a career like that, I don't think the term under rated should even be in the conversation. Ronnie is certainly not as popular today as he was 20 yrs ago...but he got his just due when he was on the top.

Don t know why but Ronnie is a under rated multi talented entertainer .His lost in the 50s album shows his talent in Country,R&B and pop.He is one of my favorite.

Ronnie is so underrated! He's been my favorite country artist for years!

One of the great overlooked Milsap tunes that should've went number one if it wasn't for Garth and the changing times of the early 90's.

    NEW COUNTRY NEVER.....MILSAP FOREVER!
