Hey! Are you reading the comments for a story? Then read on; if not, don't I just wanna let the steam off, I'm drunk and talkative so here goes, lol
I was dating this girl, and, I'm not being sensitive but I swear, the first time I saw her I knew she might very well be the one. We dated for a bit, but, in the end my drinking bugged her. I - for the record- and I mean this seriously, I'm not a mean drunk at all. I'm lovey dovey if anything. The next morning I regret all the feelings I shared because - I mean, I'm trying to be a man, damnit. But her dad was a violent drunk, so she said I had to stop it. But I couldn't. So, we called it quits. We had one more night together, and we both just kinda knew it was all after that.
One night, I was sitting alone in my kitchen, holding a beer, and, I felt lonely (happens sometimes). I figured it was all my fault, though. I made my choice. And I chose to hang out with this drink, so. Best enjoy. Yet I couldn't. So I texted her the next morning (sober) and said I didn't want to come home to alcohol and alcohol alone every night, and would she take me back, please... I'd stop, cuz I needed her more than alcohol, I needed someone who would talk to me, support me, and love me like a glass of liquid never would...
She said, "I'm sorry, but.. no. I've found someone else. And I've moved on." So I reluctantly wished her the best. It was my choice, after all.
3-4 weeks later, I found out she was pregnant. She told everyone it was her current boyfriend's son. But somewhere, real deep down, I just can't shake this feeling that it's my boy in there... I can't stop thinking about how the path I apparantly chose could affect this kid...
My mom and dad fought my whole life because they, "stayed together for the kids," which never works. But at the same time I don't want my boy to grow up in 2 houses. So, I figure he's better off thinking her new bf is his dad.
Yet then, here I sit with only my drink to console my loneliness... and I wish it could have been different. For both his and my own benefit. At this point, though... I think he'd be happier with 2 loving parents than with me and her (who no longer love each other) in the picture, so like... I just keep drinking.
I just hope he grows up right.
