Jackie Street, the bassist on this track, was THE man. Filled in empty space with content as musical and interesting as the rest of the song all without overplaying and creating a solid groove. I learned everything I could of his as a teen. He was a master. Took an already great song and made it even better in every case.

I just recently tried to commit suicide for the 2nd time but this song always brings to a place where God is showing me to find that person again and not let Satan win because the battle is mine and i got the victory through Jesus

Gosh, I was just talking to my son about this song. I hadn't listened to this CD in years and this song hit me so hard. My son is so in love with our Lord, so the song is sort of a reversed situation for him. However, when a kid, like you, he loved the Lord with such purity and then of course, put Him on a shelf as so many of us do. I remember my four kids singing their own versions of Michael's words, but my son was old enough to catch some of the drift. Now, I want him to listen, as well as all my kids and see what they think. I was touched by your comment.
That was an age of innocence. I, their mom, am divorced as well. The difference was, they had an unsaved father. But, they knew the Lord then, and now, know Him and are His followers. Am I blessed, or what? Our lives can take some very drastic turns, but the Lord is our Anchor and holds us, not only in His hands, but secures us in His love. Amen? There was a time in my life when I was on fire for the lord. I was in first grade. You couldn't try to be friends with me without hearing the gospel. I was then pushed by peer pressure away from it. now, in 10th grade, I am trying to find that child who had boldness, who had strength, and who had purpose. that was who I was! Now I am not strong enough to be that. where did that fire go?

Maybe my timing wasn't the 'best' by yours or their standards. but it was the only time i had to do it. and frankly we didn't play hide and go seek. That is why I find myself isolated from many other people, because I love hard and don't like giving up on people. And few want to return that love. there are people who do. and it is nice to meet them and talk to them. I have finally grown a strength and love comparable to that time. and i don't want to ever lose it again

Why? It's a really great song;especially when you are struggling with personal fears;and i found that it helped me see how a human can wonder off in their heart and mind;but God is merciful and compassionate;and can bring you back to him by a simple prayer. Hope that helps? Take care.

Fell in love with this song when I first came to Christ in the mid 90's. Years later joined the army and got "lost" for 13 years in different assignments and projects. Out now trying to find "my missing person" wish it was not so rough...

This song speaks such truth. Reminds me of the story of Adam and Eve. Like the child they lived in the Garden of Eden with no judgement. The Tree of Knowledge brought them out of childhood into duality and now they have to spend their entire lives trying to go back. Just as every person in this life must do.

i agree. i saw some old pictures of me when i was in 7th grade. i was happy, despite all that was going in my life at the time, i was happy, loving the Lord, and almost free. i'm now 36 and finally realized i found that missing person referred to in this song. this applies to anyone who has lost the fire they once had as a young believer.
