Michael Bolton - Don't Tell Me It's Over Lyrics
It's in your eyes
Here we go again
Tonight you're gonna come on strong
Such a cryin' shame, the time we spend
Over who's been right
There'll be no pretending this time
Your eyes are like fire
You'll swear it's the end of the line
But you and I, we both know you're liar
[Chorus:]
Don't tell me that it's over
Don't tell me that we're through
Don't tell me that it's over
Don't try 'n tell me that it's over
Don't tell me that it's over
'Cause you can't say good-bye, any more
Than I, can walk away from you
Ya say it's hard to love a man like me
But baby now and then
Ya do your fair share so easily
You can push me to my limit
And back again
Just when I can't take anymore
And I've made up my mind
I say I'm ready to walk out the door
But somethin' keeps me from leavin' you behind
[Chorus]
There's a reason why
After we've tried
We're not runnin' to the arms of another
When all comes down
We both know by now
We just still mean too much to each other
Don't tell me, don't tell me
Don't tell me it's over

Don´t tell me . . .
My oh my! For a long time, I never knew that Michael Bolton’s early music kicked so much ass! Kind of sad that his pre-1987 music seems incredibly underrated and how much do you want to bet that there are a lot of people who don’t know that this material exists? After hearing this, sometimes I can’t help but feel like “Oh god, why did he have to sell out and do pop music?”
Wouldn’t it be really cool if he revisited this material and maybe even had a Blackjack reunion. I’m not holding my breath, though.
He had no other choice at the time. No one bought his hard rock albums and all his songs were becoming hits for other artists. It was either sell out or quit the music business, so he gave in and sang love songs that were guaranteed hits.
Hellraiser Gordon oh right... I get it.
His first 3 albums were rock kick ass AOR.I used to help run Rock/metal nights in pubs and clubs around Derby/Nottm area in mid 80's,was very popular. Then a few years later went soppy.
Best of the 80s
It's a shame Michael Bolton really sold out! He truly had potential as a powerhouse Rocker! What I wouldn't give for him to revisit his days where he was emulating Sammy Hagar and Lou Gramm
How did he sell out?
Fantastic AOR tune! MB rocks. Miss all music of the 80's
