La Dispute's first two albums are good and you can hear the mewithoutYou influences in them, but La Dispute seems to have completely left the post hardcore sound behind in favor of a more folky sound.

can someone help me out? i haven't listen to post hardcore in like a decade and my brother started listening to mwy. the way he sings the lyrics, sort of like spoken word, what does that sound like? it's been fucking with me for days. i've thought of at the drive in, portraits of past, alexisonfire, fugazi, hell even ninja high school, but nothing sticks. this reminds me of a band but i don't know which. my brain will never forgive me if i can't find it. help me post hardcore fans!

Everyone should go out and purchase this record when it comes out, because they self-funded this entire project (deluxe edition art and more included) and it would be a terrible thing to rob them of this awesome experience.

The "terrible crash" in that song was referring to his Aaron's birth. He says that in an interview. So, no, the title was a reference but that's it.

Actually, I think this does have some connection beyond the name and opening line. January 1979 referred to a "terrible crash", which is what this song is all about.
