That would be James'.. James actually plays the solo that starts at 2:18 that comes from the same side of the speakers as the rhythm guitar. This a "live" studio cover which they recorded pretty much in one take so there are other mistakes too.

To my ears, the best drumming Lars ever did was on the ...And Justice For All album. He's competent, but to call him legendary is stretching it a bit. Don't get me wrong, he's way better than I'll ever be (especially since I'm a bassist), but in the videos of the Death Magnetic recording sessions, Rick Rubin gets Lars to play without a click-track and he can't keep time, complaining that he hasn't played without a click track since the '80s.

also there was a bootleg cd of lemmys birthday party and i heard it and the first song had very bad technical difficulties, keep in mind that was many many years ago, so that info may be wrong. FACT: this was released in CENSORED and UNCENSORED form

A little misleading to call it the studio version. The four Motorhead covers on Garage Inc are part of a six song live set that Metallica played for Lemmy's 50th birthday. That being said, it's a great version of an awesome song. The best part? Where James forgets the lines to the last verse and just mumbles along...
