Meshuggah - Sickening Lyrics

NOONE KNOWS THE SOUL OF TEARS AND WHY CAN'T WE SEE HUMAN
INDIGNITY WHO WILL LAUGH AT THE GROWING SUFFERING THE BLEEDING
RAPIDLY BREEDING INCREASING THE CLOCK IS TICKING ON BEFORE US
CONSTANTLY RUNNING HYPNOTIZED ENERGIZED BY NAIVETY TAKE A PICK
AT RANDOM CHOOSE OUR FUTURE TO BE CRAWLING IN THE MESS OF
STUPIDITY WE WON'T HEAR WHEN WE'RE DEAD AND GONE WE TRUST IN
LIES OR A FAKE PARADISE ARE WE BLINDED TIL' THE BITTER END DECIDED
OR MAYBE VERY MISGUIDED TRAVELLING THROUGH ENDLESS TIMES
INSIDE OF NOTHINGNESS REACHING FOR A NEW BELIEF IN VAIN INSANE
OUR MOLDED LIVES AN EVER CATATONIC FLOW WE'RE REJECTED EVER
MORE BY LUCIDITY WHY STRANGE WHY WHY CHANGE WHY NOT SUICIDE
NO STRANGE NO NO CHANGE NO NOT SUICIDE WITH EARS THAT ARE SHUT
TO THE INNER VOICE WE'RE GIVING IN TO THE SHATTERING TELL ME HOW
CAN WE TAKE IT TELL ME WHY ARE WE HERE HANGING IN THE BALANCE OF
DECEIT AND BLASPHEMY PARALYZED IN SIGHTLESS DRAINS IGNORANT
AND STILL NO PANIC IS THERE NO WAY TO BE FREE NO WHY ME NOT US
WHY NOT BLIND STRANGE BLIND BLIND CHANGE BLIND SUICIDE DAMN
FAITH DAMN DAMN LIES WHY

  12. M.... A....

This is a catchy little ditty, a real toe-tapper.

  13. m.... ....

Too bad they're lost and have been trashy djuntah after they first few bums -.- Sickening easily their finest tune ever

    m.... ....

Agree. They are fucking shit now. Robotic repetitive shit and the vocals suck.

    m.... ....

@Visions of Madness Idiot comment by an idiot well done...idiot.

  14. J.... G....

fuckin love how they still run bare odd sigs throughout and crazy fills but stick to more of a straight 4/4 pattern, makes it such a fuckin head bang

  15. C.... H....

This song makes me think of doing strip and lap dances maybe even belly dances. It has that groovy kinda sound I can't help it. Not to mention the heaviness to the beats absolutely should be mosh fest kinda song seriously.

  16. r.... g....

This was the first song of messhugah that I heard in 95 '.., since then there is nothing more brutal .. (Meshuggah, Cynic & Gordian knot are the best for my taste)

  17. A.... A....

better than they so called Djent

  18. A.... E....

slipknot sped up version aka physiocial
    is way better

    A.... E....

It's spelt "psychosocial". You have no clue what you are talking about. Please leave.

    n.... ....

    What a stupid comment

  20. I.... ....

first time hearing this in years, and listening to it, it's like i can smell the air in my college dormroom all over again from 9+ years ago when i first heard it. freakin incredible

  21. A.... ....

are they using octave effects or is this for real tuned a straight octave below the A# standard they used on the 7s pre-Nothing?

edit: definitely a pitch shifter, don't mind me. i got 'none' and 'nothing' mixed up lol. easy mistake. i started using a pitch shifter tho, i don't think i'm ever gonna look back.

  22. B.... ....

    jonathan hetfield. james davis

  23. R.... N....

I see influences from metallica and thrash in the vocals. The groovy vibe and sound is influenced from Pantera. These guys took those sounds into a different direction. And it's a good direction.

  24. N.... J....

    Definitively DJENT

  25. C.... R....

been listening meshuggah for the past 19 years!!! god!! im so old!!!!!

  31. M.... ....

  33. J.... R....

4 years old wen this came out. Fuck the 90s was the best year for metal !!! :)
I remember wen my uncle played this !

  34. J.... D....

I dont understand why is this song not more popular, it is one of their sickest.

    J.... D....

    +Jimmy Durmody hehe punny

    J.... D....

    Totally agree.

    J.... D....

Probably because it was not released as single or video.

    J.... D....

It’s too hard for soft people.

  35. V.... ....

    0:31 dat riff

    V.... ....

    V.... ....

    +patrick Pato hell yeah

  36. C.... A....

20 años despues … lo que hacian ahora es moda … \m/ one of the best metal bands ever ...

  37. C.... D....

The clean part sounds like Nevermore.

    C.... D....

or nevermore sounds like this clean part

  38. M.... ....

    This ep is highly underrated/undervalued.

    M.... ....

@Daniel Castillo amen to that. I still jam these albums often, and I've since become a huge fan of new meshuggah as well. My first comment on this thread was 2 years ago.

    M.... ....

KF7MGT What did you think about The Violent Sleep of Reason? I thought it was pretty good, but I think Koloss was better

    M.... ....

@KF7MGT Based on this Ep, DEI I saw them at the OZZFEST 2002 in San Antonio, I believe. When they went on most of the crowd dispersed, my impression is that the crowd was not sophisticated enough or musically educated to accept what they did. At that point they were only playing a handful of shows, so it was an honor just to see them at all. I think when a band like Messugah came out at that time it gave other bands permission to implement elements of thrash, prog, jazz into their sound. If you look at their influences they're all over the place.

    M.... ....

The whole fucking discography is underrated and undervalued!

    M.... ....

I consider None an honorary album because it's just as good as DEI and Chaosphere. All their 90's stuff (from Contradictions to the Rare Trax b-sides EP) is WAY better than most of what they've done in the 2000's. "Nothing" was really their last album that wasn't a repetitive chug-fest

  39. L.... F....

i just love this song for the end part, god, mesmerizing

    L.... F....

It really stands out as one of the greatest moments in music, IMO.  "Why?"

  40. P.... H....

All I have to say is 5:05!!!!!!!!

    P.... H....

    Perfection

  41. d.... ....

Probably my favorite of theirs. Qualms of reality is close too.

  42. S.... G....

I do not endorse someone saying sweg on my name.

    S.... G....

    Sweg. Fite me.

  43. b.... ....

Just my opinion, but I love how prominent the bass is in Meshuggah's work. So few bands do that and even fewer are a more dynamic sound because of it. They're bass riffs and licks actually bring something else to the music rather than just back it up. Gotta respect that

    b.... ....

Meshuggah always did bass RIGHT. It's shaped the way I do bass in my band. It creates a wall of roaring sound, and it's WAY more aggressive and huge than the regular "bass player makes things rumble in the background" approach.

    b.... ....

I tend to like and respect bands more when they can utilize the bass properly beyond just being a mere back up instrument!

  44. S.... K....

Showed my friend Meshuggah, big metal head like me, and he said they just sound like every other metal core band out there..........so much hurt.

    S.... K....

He must not be a big metal head then.

    S.... K....

This pre dates any attempt of metal core subgenre, this is like the genesis of modern metal

    S.... K....

    He's not your friend '-'

    S.... K....

Did you mentioned him that this was in 1994?

    S.... K....

your "friend" is a fucking loser. so much gay

  45. R.... i....

Great album. Thanks for the share!

  46. M.... J....

Dude, tomas haake is so fucking good man..everything he does is done so well. I can only admire and be influenced.

  47. D.... ....

    Kickass song!!!!!

  48. h.... ....

There are so many good songs from every album they've made.

  49. A.... N....

    feels thrashy

  50. C.... S....

korn is the little yellow kernel in the shit that Meshuggah just took

    C.... S....

    😂👍🏻

  51. S.... ....

    no...just dont....

  52. G.... E....

    Amen to that, bro!

  53. A.... H....

I really hope you're not comparing Meshuggah to Korn...

  54. R.... ....

0:00 I hear that in my head whenever i feel nauseous.

  55. B.... H....

    AAAHHHH MESHUGGAH IN 1994

  56. m.... ....

    agree bro.
The new wave of "djent" bands that just do complex music without feeling are shitty.

  57. m.... ....

So many fucking wannabe bands try to imitate the song this sound has, or bastardize it into some gay nu-metal shit

  58. j.... ....

    4:26 is sick as hell

  59. i.... ....

sounds more like metallica inspired voice, to me

  60. I.... ....

@paddymoep I'll check it out, cheers!

  61. I.... ....

    @paddymoep Agreed. It's fantastic...

  62. C.... ....

@ArcherMochi Are you french or how?

  63. A.... ....

    2 people make me sick

  64. N.... t....

the part from 4:28 to 4:43 rips everything apart.

  65. T.... ....

His voice on this sounds a bit like Wayne static haha

    T.... ....

TheMonsieurLOL right dude. when he sang "the Only"

  66. S.... G....

    0:33 epic

  67. J.... ....

I like the ending part, such nice way to end a song.. :)

  68. v.... ....

That was fucking cool... not liking this Pantera-inspired voice, but an epic song nonetheless.

  69. W.... ....

    what a groovy bastard

  74. N.... ....

This would be my entrance music if i was a wrestler.

  75. S.... ....

@Fall4Kingdom Well, because whether we like it or not, they're metal.

    They fucking suck though.
