Meshuggah - Beneath Lyrics

It's time to go into the me below
My morbid self beneath
A peril trip the last way out
I spin as I let go
In spirals down the narrow lines
Passing through my aura
Spit me out into my mind
A journey through disease

I'm behind my cynic eyes
That stare but can not see
The sickness in me ... beneath ...

I fall in untruthful me the essence of
My thoughts
Swirling in a thousand vows endless
Truthless

What am I this me beneath
A vain organic lie
That rules me from inside

Immobile now I bow before reality itself
It's substance moving through my eyes
My life is transferred once suffused upon
My mind the view erases burns inside
And then another fall

I plunge into a well of lies a cold
Perennial flow the vortex of my soul

Meshuggah Beneath Comments
  1. G.... 6....

This is a bad ass song. Some guy on another video said to check this out. This is great shit

  2. G.... L....

Joy Of Satan is a lie and Satan is a faggot.

  3. T.... ....

so far ahead of its time. bands were trying to mimic this sound many years after this album.

  4. M.... C....

Anyone else here because Spotify decided to remove just this one particular song ?

  5. r.... v....

the most important thing to happen to metal since sabbath.

  6. I.... S....

I remember hearing these guys on Uranium or something in like 2001 or 2002 when I was 13, shitting myself, not remembering their name, then trying to figure out who it was for a solid month or two. You kids have it easy these days!!!! It was so hard to find relatively obscure metal music back then.

  7. J.... W....

Uplifting song more like this one

  8. D.... T....

One of their most underrated songs.

    D.... T....

Its my fav one of theres

  9. J.... W....

And to think, this is just a syncopated 4/4.

  10. M.... J....

    my life in 2018
Go to college and take boring classes
    morrowind
    meshuggah
    coffee

    M.... J....

College student doesn't seems so different out there

    M.... J....

Replace that shitty coffee with some beer

    M.... J....

@Bobby Boucher I say replace that carbonated piss and go vaporize some methylated ephedrine shards!

  11. B.... R....

Nothing heavier in 95, few who can compete now

    B.... R....

Disembodied is right there with them if not heavier at the time

  12. V.... ....

    That ending though

  13. C.... ....

TFW drums in 4/4 and the guitar in 5/16

  14. b.... ....

    1995, nuff said

  15. m.... ....

Boring Meshugga story but I saw them in 95 supporting Machine Head in the Glasgow Barrowlands. The Bassist was ill so the guitarist played a six string bass. Basically played his set on bass. Dunno how he did it. Some gig though.

    m.... ....

    meangene408 nice profile pic.

    m.... ....

Everlong made me into a lover of 9ths.

    m.... ....

    Mental gig. Was so intense.

  16. l.... s....

    This song really DOES djent.

  17. g.... ....

What kind of amp are they using

  18. T.... V....

Love how you can hear the tail of the cymbal from Future Breed Machine at the very start of the track

  19. N.... A....

god i wish the into was longer or on loop i fucking love it

  20. S.... G....

    sick bass line....

    S.... G....

That bassline near the beginning gave me goosebumps

  21. D.... ....

    Димоооооооннннн ARRRRRRGHHHH=)

  22. e.... ....

    Yes!!!!

  23. D.... D....

Favorite song off of this album!

    D.... D....

    MINE TOO

  24. R.... A....

Wish they played that intro like half of the song haha its so good.

  25. J.... R....

Those riffs are like machine guns. Fucking awesome.

  26. f.... ....

Newbies do not know where to hit...
    Meshuggah stand still and firm
time pass, life flows, death comes, metal stands

    f.... ....

Always loved this one! Im a newbie too didnt hear this til 99! The real newbies came when they hit ozzfest tho lol

    f.... ....

I found about them from a friend about 3 years ago. Hated it back then. But now i’ve grown to love them, both their old and new records. My favourite metal and band overall i’d say.

  27. C.... S....

Am I the only one who's actually listened to the very end? Wtf is that??

    C.... S....

+ Cory Smart It's Frederick or Marten fiddling with their guitar

  28. M.... F....

I have the ultimate show, meshuggah, tool, gojira and mastodon. Tool headlines

    M.... F....

@Brian Village I knew someone was gonna have to have that reaction, lol. Let's say, they're the opening band.

    M.... F....

@Legend Gotta Catch Em All nope. they dont

    M.... F....

@Drew P. Weiner only if meshuggah headlines.

    M.... F....

Meshuggah opens, followed by Meshuggah, who plays two sets. Then Meshuggah headlines

    M.... F....

I may be one of the few that recognizes Mastodon for their achievements....Blood Mountain, Leviathan, and Crack the Sky. Sure they are a little fluffy now, but it seems money takes away the need to give 110%. They used to push hard, now there is no strain, no strive. Anyway...the old stuff is worthy. Messugah headlines because its their turn.

  29. T.... ....

This song is so fucking ahead of its time

    T.... ....

+Ciso so freakin true all the djent bands try to copy their style but its have no soul and everytime meshuggah release an album its completely different that theyve done before they are technically beasts coupled with a damn writting genius (sry my english is a bit approximative)

    T.... ....

@Arthur Daffos dude that's so true, I mean yeah it's djent but it's more like Meshuggah djent the lyrics the drums omg..the drums ! no worries my native language is spanish men

    T.... ....

    Woohoo! Pantera!

    T.... ....

Fucking 1995! Windows 95 came out in that year! Meshuggah was already in Windows 10 in that time

    T.... ....

This band was and Is still ahead of their time.

  30. V.... P....

This song has forever been rewritten by Roger Carter. I can no longer hear this song without thinking vortex. Ladies and gents, I give you Beneath- by The Bluecoats.

  31. B.... L....

sometimes the best fuck off music you can hear

  32. A.... M....

    BLUECOATSSSS

  33. E.... ....

Might just be best fucking bassline ever at 0:37

    E.... ....

ELK1989612 you’re the best fucking baseline ever.

  34. A.... M....

Meshuggah shouldve stuck with the harmonic fusion style rather than the djent shit.

    A.... M....

Exactly! Djent wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for them and Fear Factory so remember that every time you hear a Djent band.

    A.... M....

+Mick Sawyer fear factory doesnt have a nything to do with duh-juht

    A.... M....

So instead of meshuggah, they should've been meshuggah?

    A.... M....

I don't get hung up on the djent label but I do prefer the old albums to their new ones. I prefer the older vocal style as well.

    A.... M....

Johnny Rambo not trying to debate/argue but I love how everyone has such different tastes in life. I prefer the newer stuff but, I can't ignore their humble beginnings.

  35. S.... ....

    crushing

  36. I.... ....

it's seriously blowing my mind that someone wrote a bluecoats lot piece to this song

    I.... ....

what!? I need a year or something to look up

    I.... ....

@Christopher Lemons 2014 Bluecoats. Exercise is entitled "The Vortex." Pretty freaking awesome!

  37. J.... ....

1:50 riff, drums and solo is a cosmic mystical experience for those who love serious metal

  38. J.... ....

All their records are great for different reasons-Nothing is just skull crushing. Obzen is the other truly great record-the most creative of all. This legendary record is so intense that your emotions go within. I had tears in my eyes

    J.... ....

Yep and goose bumps and I had tears in my eyes first time I saw them live and then when the house lights came on after the show you could tell that most everyone else did too. So many girls with running mascara lol.

  39. J.... ....

The best song on a great and awesome record. Un **&^^&**())*&^^^ believable power and intensity. Meshuggah rules!

  40. R.... G....

I was 5 years old when this came out haha :P

    R.... G....

    Wow! I didn't fucking exist

    R.... G....

@Rio Grande i was a 16 years old SLayer fan back then and i when first listened to this album i was like WTF is this?!?!?!?

    R.... G....

    @poko piko Wow!

    R.... G....

    Rio Grande 3 here

    R.... G....

I was 16 and this blow my mind back then, still does. I was like how do these guys exist lol

  41. A.... R....

    BLOOOOOO!!! \,,/

    A.... R....

Aaron Rios assuming your talking about the bluecoats 👌

    A.... R....

    LET'S GO BLOOOOOOO

    A.... R....

    bluecoats what 2012-2014 warmup?

  42. M.... ....

    When the beat drops tho

    M.... ....

    @***** ayy lmao bruhh

    M.... ....

@***** Pretty much, but a technical death metal version

  43. A.... C....

Hey Jared Check out thiss its like that heavy one you been workin on...

    A.... C....

@Albi Collier they used boosted/modded rectifiers through the 90s

    A.... C....

How were they boosting them?.. just with like.. a Tube Screamer aswell or somkething?.. Or Just "grunty pickups + anything mesa boogie = awesome?" lol

    A.... C....

@jared priestley tubescreamers into mesa rectifiers and they were probably using lundgren signature pickups as well.

    A.... C....

    Albi Collier nice last name

  44. 7.... ....

I think I found my favorite meshuggah song.

    7.... ....

This. My #2 is Ivory Tower. Probably New Millennium Cyanide Christ after that.

  45. R.... S....

There's this thing I discovered some time ago, please tell me if this is coincidence or intentional. So, I love how Jens sings the part at 2:25 and for fun I counted the syllables: 1+1+11+1+1+5+2+2 which = 24. AND, the album was released 1995: 1+9+9+5=24
    MIND=BLOWN....or am I just crazy?

    R.... S....

you're crazy. seek an ye shall find mate

    R.... S....

Oh boy... I remember I was so high at the time I made this comment.
    Meshuggah's DEI + MDMA = A Truly Unique Experience

  46. H.... S....

3:30 I love that riff! The guitars and drums create such a cool feel. Typical Meshuggah I guess!

    H.... S....

    typical meshuggah indeed, that groove;)

    H.... S....

OFFBEAT COLD AS HELL. HEAVY AF, SINCE 98 FOR ME. GUITARIST WORE GLASSES AND ALWAYS WORE A HOCKY JERZY

  47. A.... ....

What tuning is the bass in in this era?

    A.... ....

octave down from guitar, they didn't match until the 8 strings

    A.... ....

    Bb Eb Ab Db Gb

    A.... ....

    A# standard

  48. o.... ....

still just your opinion and not empirical facts. let us agree to disagree. my opinion is nothing more than a opinion but i'd say that a beatles tune is more in line with what a primary school student's brain can process rather than something more complex.

  49. o.... ....

how many years you've played is totally irrelevant. i agree with justin stone though.

  50. o.... ....

i've played guitar for 19 years and i'll happily agree with you.

  51. o.... ....

then you should also know that music is totally subjective as an art form as all art are and therefore your claim of meshuggah being boring and repetitive is nothing more than a mere subjective opinion. and i'm pretty sure they've pioneered the metal scene for the last 20 years or so, maybe just a tad bit more than i think that you have. correct me if i'm wrong.

  52. J.... E....

just got through listening to 23 by miley cyrus and juicy j. was gonna kill myself then found this song

  53. M.... ....

You're just proving your ignorance, buddy!

  54. Y.... ....

    No it's not. It's 4/4. Intro is 6/4.

  55. M.... ....

You're so horribly wrong with that statement, it's not even fucking funny! I hate when people say that Meshuggah's shit is all just 3 note riffs and stuff like that. I've been playing guitar for 9 years and believe me, ALL of Meshuggah's albums are much more complex than they get credit for. I'd like to see you try to play 'In Death Is Death' on guitar. I guarantee you'd eat your words after attempting that...

    M.... ....

    Justin S slow ur roll

    M.... ....

Justin S I tried playing some meshuggah on my bass. Not easy at all for the most part.

    M.... ....

Justin S besides playing three note riffs lie the way they do over and over as fast as they do is actually pretty tough and I’ve been playing for 6/7 years off and on.

  56. s.... w....

    1:50 fucking love it!

  57. m.... P....

    cool riff from 0:18 to 0:38 it's 4 bars of 9/16

  58. R.... N....

Meshuggah, Gojira and Horn Of The Rhino \m/

  59. Y.... ....

I can never hold my composure during this...

    Y.... ....

    Yojimbo711 me neither
