Memphis May Fire - Unashamed Lyrics

I see a world running in circles
They don't know what they're chasing
They find the pain with the money and fame
Looking for love in all the wrong places
I see the look on their face, I think they're about to cave in
I can't just stand by and wait
Hoping that somehow they make it out
So here I go!

I've got nothing to be ashamed of
So why should I hide and wait for someone else to say the word?
There is nothing to be afraid of
So I'll spend my life speaking what I know needs to be heard

They hide their pain, and embrace the darkness
Alone and what they're facing
If I keep quiet while I watch them dying
I am no different than the demons that they're fighting

I've got nothing to be ashamed of
So why should I hide and wait for someone else to say the word?
There is nothing to be afraid of
So I'll spend my life speaking what I know needs to be heard
I will illuminate with every word I say
Until my dying day I will be unashamed

I am no stranger to the pain of being hated
But I just can't bear the weight of a life that's wasted.
I won't waste it!

If I stare right into their eyes and never say a word
I gave up on who I'm to be
If I don't share this love I've found, I am the one to blame
This is not my secret to keep

I've got nothing to be ashamed of
I've got nothing to be ashamed of
So why should I hide and wait for someone else to say the word?
There is nothing to be afraid of
So I'll spend my life speaking what I know needs to be heard

I've got nothing to be ashamed of
So why should I hide and wait for someone else to say the word?
Until my dying day, I will be unashamed!

Listen to this in 1.25 speed and you won't be able to go back.

  5. I.... B....

Why have i been putting this album to the side? This album is some good relatable shit

  6. k.... e....

Literally just got halfway through the hollow. Skipped the rest went to next album skipped through the songs and two albums later here I am pissed off. Atleast start another band on the side. This bands going nowhere fast.

  7. k.... e....

I'm ashamed of the last 3 almost 4 albums you've put out. Pussies.

  8. M.... B....

this band used to be great 🙅

  9. M.... R....

I will never be ashamed of the person i have become, fuck the negativity, i will always be myself, go get fucked haters.

  10. K.... E....

"For I am not ashamed of the Gospel..."

  11. B.... ....

The break down is aight. The rest is literal garbage. Wtf is with the million basic as fuck and anti-melodic guitar riff and chord progressions? And Matty pushed out lyrics for this wayyyyyy too quick.

  12. B.... ....

    This song is utter garbage.

  13. G.... C....

wanted more screams in this album

  14. Q.... A....

"I am no stranger to the pain of being hated" is somewhat relatable.

  15. F.... ....

    Really love that beginning tone

    F.... ....

Me too, wish it was longer!

  16. A.... ....

Ty MMF for giving us everything what we need. Ty so much.

  17. M.... G....

Nothing but great things to say about this album! Keep up the good work MMF!

  18. C.... S....

People say this is the worst album, when Unconditional was clearly the worst of 'em all.

    C.... S....

An Empty Coke Bottle unconditional is freakin great, probably my favorite out of their discography

  19. M.... O....

Easily the best song on the album. If this was anyone else besides MMF I would be in love with the whole album, its excellent, but its still living in the shadows of The Hollow and Challenger, so its harder to swallow.

  20. E.... M....

We get it, you like God now. Cool, Matty.

  21. d.... ....

that bass tho <3 Cory you're my favorite bassist ever <3

  22. J.... T....

At some points, cleans sound like Andy Leo?

  23. C.... L....

Stop complaining about the band's sound change or whatever...Just enjoy the music!

  24. E.... S....

I'm digging this album. It's still got a lot of corny lyrics but it's definitely a step-up from their last album.

    E.... S....

Lindy Hurless first of all, please learn proper grammar, I could barely understand your comment. Second, I do understand that, it's extremely obvious that he's trying to spread a Christian message. Which is fine, but the way he words his lyrics is kinda corny. Very cliche cookie cutter lyrics we've heard a billion times before

    E.... S....

Erik Shaw its really not cliche it's a powerful message. Saying how people are lost. But we should not be afraid to talk about God to them the true way and the living light. Because we are in the end times and that Christian will be persecuted and we need to stand for our religion and hold to it,

    E.... S....

Lindy Hurless again, I don't have anything against the Christian lyrics, please stop putting those words in my mouth. All I'm saying is the lyrics sound like something a 13 year old could've wrote.

    E.... S....

To all of the MMF "fans" who keep complaining about lack of depth to the lyrics since the hollow... a song doesn't have to have deep poetic lyrics to be considered "good" imo. Their messages aka lyrics have been very straight forward and understandable in regards to the band members beliefs and life experiences. I've enjoyed every album since Matty joined MMF. I hope they stay true to their own beliefs and choice in sound/ direction they want to go in. Awesome new album guys!!

    E.... S....

johnathan torres I agree with you man

  25. Z.... M....

I don't get the hate, lmao. Music is music and music is awesome to listen to.

  26. m.... ....

Havnt we heard this before ? lyrics are terrible , and music is generic. These guys were once ok but they bring nothing to the table anymore IMO .

    m.... ....

maxwelld23 I don't know what you talking about bringing to the table sir. But they have brought a big message to the table for the Christian out there who are afraid to speak out and talk about God to people.

    m.... ....

Lindy Hurless I'd much rather listen august burns red , being as an ocean , for today , zao , sleeping giant . I liked hollow and challenger was good but they have taken a big step back IMO . Lyrics have become cringe worthy and the music generic. Hey to each there own , if they bring something to the table for you then cool man .

  27. S.... W....

    1:57 breakdown letdown.

  28. c.... ....

To ANYONE and I mean ANYONE who is complaining about the album or them changing......look at urself in the mirror and tell me who u listened to 10 years ago and who u listen to right now. Point is everyone evolves because ur not listening the same stuff or same bands from 10 years ago. Just like some of y'all use to listen to mmf and now u don't because u like other bands and have different taste. Same with these guys. They elope just like we do. Just sit back and enjoy

  29. D.... M....

    🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

  30. M.... L....

Great song ,love the lyrics guys! Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." Keep being the light of the world Jesus told us to be Memphis May Fire! 😁😁😁

    M.... L....

    Michael Lopez amen for that

  31. D.... ....

I really like this one so far! Jams to new MMF wooo! Who else jammed the new album last night & today!?

  32. R.... C....

I think BMTH is the only band to successfully go from such hard music to softer mainstream stuff and make it work. Of course people will say That's The Spirit wasn't good but it succeeded for the genre they made it into. However this just isn't working. And Matty has such a talented voice/screams

    R.... C....

i highly disagree with BMTH targeting a younger audience, their lyrics are pretty mature and relatable to kids 18+ imo. There old style was for the younger sceneies which i still enjoyed but their new stuff is leagues ahead in maturity.

    R.... C....

i agree(with the MMF part) Matty's screams are gold. But his cleans are meh. This album really disappointed me

    R.... C....

Nick Sibilla I disagree with you. It's not targeting younger people. What the message is targeting is Christian. Telling them not to be afraid to speak out loud and talk about God to people.

    R.... C....

@Lindy Hurless im talking about bmth not mmf

    R.... C....

Only one? what about: As I lay dying, august burns red, Norma Jean, Blindside, Underoath, Evergreen terrace, Killswitch engaged... all have gotten softer over the years. (especially underoath and they are so much more popular today than the were when they were actually hard)

  33. t.... ....

The beginning of this song kinda sounds like Mimi's theme from Super Paper Mario. Maybe I'm just weird for making that connection.

  34. K.... I....

Third time they've released this fucking album..

    K.... I....

    Agreed! And I love it

    K.... I....

David Ferre the lyrical content I mean.

    K.... I....

Kawaii Imouto the lyrical content isn't going to change. You just have to get used to it or stop listening. That's what Christianity does to you. Consumes you. And that's all Matty is going to want to sing about. :)

    K.... I....

@Living Infinity Yea I understand, I didn't listen to Unconditional because of it, and I won't be listening to this album because of it, figured I'd check out a couple songs from this one to see if they'd figured it out that it's getting bland.

    K.... I....

You do realize that while he may have become more preachy, the general concept of the lyrics in every song hes written beside divinity can be taken however you want to take them. Stop focusing on why he wrote them, and focus on what they say to you personally. That's what music is.

  35. R.... O....

    Is this there new album

  36. J.... T....

    This song gave me goosebumps

  37. J.... D....

I love these lyrics, great work on this album guys!

  38. A.... N....

I absolutely love MMF, but I just don't feel their sound anymore. Much love tho, no hate ❤️

  39. L.... l....

  40. w.... ....

    not great.

    w.... ....

Mr Speed cause you don't understand the message

  41. R.... V....

    I forgot about this band

  42. C.... F....

They are putting good music out and haven't pulled a Bring Me The Horizon, I really like the older sound to the way the song is written, but some of their older work is better but it's in the right style.

  43. A.... T....

Que linda madrugada llena de estrenos, los amo.

    A.... T....

    y yo te amo a ti :v

  44. S.... ....

Letting go, Sever the ties & This is life are great songs for this album. Every thing else for me is lackluster and seems like a repeat of what we got in Unconditional. Overall i give this album a 7/10. Comparing it to your previous albums you guys have gone down a step. Comparing it to what could very well be my album of the year "Transit Blues" you guys have got to step it up. This album is definitely for newer listeners but for us who have been here since "The Hollow," well... we expect more.

    S.... ....

I see where you come from, But I enjoyed every song off this album and I've listened to them since Sleepwalking. In the end its their music as long as they are proud of it and have fun doing this that's what matters. Yes they are in it to make money and people who don't like it wont buy it but they could at any point in time stop making music. I enjoy what I get from these guys I don't expect any more from them.

    S.... ....

NGNDECEASCED transit blues was shit for tdwp standards and this album is almost completely radio rock.

    S.... ....

Out Of It is their best song from this album

    S.... ....

    Transit Blues was bleh

  45. V.... ....

Getting overshadowed by Avenged Sevenfold's new album haha

    V.... ....

depend on what you listem to daily. i just heard about a7x new album today but have known about mmf new album since they announced it

    V.... ....

@dj kiser Right because nobody knew it was being released. It was a surprise reveled at the end of their free online concert. It was pretty cool.

    V.... ....

That's pretty cool. I'll have to give it a listen. I've never been let down by them

  46. B.... N....

    Digging this record

  47. F.... I....

this light i hold album, very nice

  48. H.... S....

    where's the metal core?

    H.... S....

Hunter Silvey Brownlee it doesn't matter to them about that what matters is the message that they are trying to get across to people

    H.... S....

Josh AMISS man you seem salty about my comment.

    H.... S....

Lindy Hurless lyrics are pretty generic bruh

    H.... S....

No Hunter you seem uneducated when it comes to music lol.

    H.... S....

Hunter Silvey Brownlee no the lyrics are not generic at all I listen to a lot of there songs. And they are different yes they all point to God. But that's the message they want people to know. This music talks about how people are lost. And we should be afraid to preach the word of God to them and show them the true and living way of Jesus Christ. But we must also hold fast to our faith and stand on it for what we believe.

  49. C.... Z....

has some sleepwalking feeling to the cleans.... i dig it. I will listen to these guys again

    C.... Z....

Oh my God you're right. It does sound a lot like Sleepwalking. O_O

  50. C.... S....

This album is 1000x's better than Unconditional.

    C.... S....

    An Empty Coke Bottle no

    C.... S....

music wise yes, but lyrics are practically a copy of unconditionals

    C.... S....

I actually agree with you, as someone who is a big fan of that album. I think this album's lyrics are better and slightly more relatable to me, and its definitely better musically, as well. I'm hearing some really complex riffs and other things that make it more enjoyable to listen to. Nonetheless, I still love Unconditional

  51. P.... ....

    EARLY AF

  52. A.... C....

Mullins lyrics are getting more predictable and cliche :(
    message is good but eh
    Just my opinion

    A.... C....

    @NerdMac
Yes they DID! LOLOLLOOLOL They even said in an interview that that's what "Daughter" was. You are the only one delusional. It's The Serpent & Shiva the destroyer. GTFO.

    A.... C....

Selfish Eyes I already seen Toyko ghoul season one and season 2 plus Toyko ghoul jack and pinato. And yea I already heard they mess up the anime cause they left out a lot of the people from the manga.

    A.... C....

Selfish Eyes that's why they stop making more of Toyko ghoul after jack. Just like deadman wonderland it's good anime but I found out that they left out a bunch in the anime that was in the manga.

    A.... C....

    @Lindy Hurless
If you don't mind hearing what ACTUALLY happened in the manga I'll explain here really quick. SPOILER WARNING in case you don't want to hear.

In the manga Kaneki shows up after being tortured and Touka is unconscious from where her brother defeated her. Kaneki grabs Touka and quickly appears on the other side of the roof. He then confronts her brother and says I won't kill you because you are Toukas brother. But I will break every bone in your body. And he completely annihilates her brother. Then Kaneki starts his own badass group full of some of the characters we have now, and don't yet see in the anime. And goes after the bad group, instead of joining them. And HERE COMES THE MAJOR PART THEY LEAVE OUT.

In the manga Kanekis Centipede form was from canibalizing other ghouls after he gets trapped in a factory with the doctor who operated on him in the beginning. Turns out he purposely made Kaneki a ghoul. And others. He also finds rizes body there. And that one guy that trained kaneki appears and takes her with him & leaves Kaneki there.

So Kaneki has to survive & that's where he  evolves his first time. There is like several important arcs the anime left out. Including the true ending with hide/what happens to kaneki. There is another manga right now called tokyo ghoul re. It takes place after everything. It's getting an anime. I don't know if it will follow the manga. Since the anime ruined the story with season 2.

But madhouse is adapting it instead of shit pierrot this time. And this will be so good if they follow. It's years after everything that happened & Touka and the groups growed up & who became S rated ghouls etc. & a lot more.. wont say any spoilers. But it will be good.

    A.... C....

Selfish Eyes yeah that a lot that they miss in the anime
