Memphis May Fire - Not Enough Lyrics

I take a deep breath into my lungs, let it out & move on.
I take a step back & look at all that I've done.
Why does it feel like I'm right back where I started from?
How can it be I need more when I've already won?
Just when I think I've got it all figured out you grab my hand & say not so fast, boy don't you see there is so much more!

I'm at the top of the world & I feel it, but it's not enough for me.
No it's not enough for me!
I used to think I'd find myself at the top above all the pain & the failure I saw.
Now that I'm here I see it's not what I wanted at all.

I feel it in my bones.
It's in my blood.
A constant search for the one true love.
Show me something real, I want to feel your touch.
What is enough?
Show me enough!

I'm at the top of the world & I feel it, but it's not enough for me.
No it's not enough for me!
I want to live forever!
Give me open eyes to see this is not enough for me!

This world wants me dead.
Dead to the truth & buried from the inside out, but I can't hide the hope I've found in you. This world wants me dead.
Dead to the truth & buried from the inside out, but I cannot be shaken I won't be moved.
My crown is eternal!

I'm at the top of the world & I feel it, but it's not enough for me.
No it's not enough for me!
I want to live forever!
Give me open eyes to see this is not enough for me!

  10. R.... M....

I love MMF and their lyrics. That's why it amazes me the lack of profanities in most of their songs. Not saying it's bad and not trying to be stereotypical

  11. X.... X....

Let's see how many males over 12 like Memphis may fire and male over 12 comment.

    X.... X....

@Hey Internet! I was only criticizing him for acting as if his sexual orientation was a factor in liking a certain type of music. Age and such is kinda ridiculous too but it at least makes somewhat sense.

    X.... X....

@Lee Ara Oh, I didn't see that comment. That really doesn't matter, you're right. The post was about age.

    X.... X....

    @Hey Internet! :)

    X.... X....

    C.... M....

it was just like a "buy our album" kind of thing.

    C.... M....

@Carilynn McGhee oh, I've never seen it...

  17. B.... B....

I love this band so so much and I am so excited to meet them this summer on Warped 2015 and I respect Matty so much for putting messages about his beliefs in his songs, good for him (:  But to all you Christians/Catholics in the comments, stop forcing your beliefs on people! An Satanist can listen to this, and enjoy. That does not mean they believe in God, they just like the song. Y'all share your religion like sharing farts in an elevator... You may feel good about getting it out, but no one wants to hear it! And before some idiot says it: yes, I go to church every Sunday. I am half Catholic, half Atheist.

    B.... B....

+Bree Bree Bear Haha I see u in the comments of all the the sings i like cx But ur comment kinda didnt make sense cause A. no one was forcing any beliefs on anyone in the comments and B. wtf does half catholic and half atheist mean lol that is a huge contradiction and it makes no sense. i guess ur unsure on whether u beieve or not but thats not the way to say it

    B.... B....

+Mahmoud Saeed might be late on the news here but I believe what she is in is a state of being AGNOSTIC. She isn't sure if she wants to believe there is or there isn't any God or supreme being or whatever she likes to call it

    B.... B....

BTS as in Bangtan Boys? :o

    B.... B....

    @Jennifer 97
    yesssSSSsssS

    B.... B....

    I LOVE THEM.

  18. K.... D....

Too much pop singing, too much core. Fuck Matty, get Chase to replace Matty as vocalist and the band needs to progress back to the Southern style scene.

Don't tell me this doesn't sound like every other post-bullshit core band out there, because it does. Back then they had their unique sound and some actual talent.

I'm not butthurt. I listen to way too much better music do be emotional over a band that only has 300k views on YouTube for one of their newest songs. I'm just stating this because I know none of these emocore kids with no good taste in music is gonna say something.

    K.... D....

@Alejandro Franco To me their southern style metal sounded way better than what they did on their "Unconditional" album which sounds like literally every single other metalcore band out there.

    K.... D....

    You're an idiot.

    K.... D....

    @Tyler Robinson i spit atchu

    K.... D....

Why listen and comment if you don't like it? Just find a video you like...don't ruin it for others who have a different opinion from you.

    K.... D....

+Kyle DuBois (Soulzarath) Matty Mullins is twice the singer vocally as Chase. His range fits the band like a glove, and he's been in MMF long enough to develop a recognizable sound for them. If you can't recognize his unclean vocals instantly you aren't a fan of metalcore in my opinion;)

  19. D.... ....

I dont think this album sounds anything like Challenger. And Challenger doesn't sound anything like The Hollow. They're all insanely amazing albums. There definitely is progression through their albums, and anyone who understands music well enough can hear that. And that progression wasn't a progression that made them any better as they went along. But their sound had definitely changed. The Hollow had definitely its own sound. It sounded a lot more raw and I think even a little more heavy. The lyrics are definitely a little more harsh and they have this sense of deepness that is so relatable. I can relate to every song in that album in some way. Challenger I think changed in sound quite a bit. It sounded less raw and little more post hardcore. They definitely ventured more with instrumentation and made their instruments meld together a little more. The lyrics were more about the band's life and what Matty goes through. The lyrics were harsh, but not like The Hollow. I think they were a little less relatable (but not in a bad way). Then Unconditional came along and it sounds way different from Challenger. I think everything is mixed in a way that it sounds huge and full. They wanted a sense of largeness to their music. The lyrics definitely softened up a lot and I think they wanted to focus on making it all more one thing instrumentally and less on instruments being independent. Unconditional's lyrics hit home a little more for me. And I think a lot of people don't realize that Matty's vocals progressed a lot through the albums too. In The Hollow, they were really full, but they sounded a little monotonous (again not in a bad way). And he did a lot more with lows and highs. And his cleans in the Hollow were definitely higher. In Challenger, they became a little less full (not in a bad way), but I think he started experimenting with moving around in pitch a lot more. His screams almost sounded airy and like they had a definite pitch. His cleans were pretty much the same as in The Hollow, but they sounded more confident almost. In Unconditional, his screams became super full and not airy at all. I think he wanted them to sound a lot more full. And he definitely moves up and down the register a lot. But he doesnt do super lows or super highs anymore like in The Hollow. His cleans also became more full in sound. I think he's focusing more on balancing out singing and screaming. That might all be due to the way the album was mixed, but there's still a difference. So to everyone saying all of their albums sound the same, think again.

  20. X.... ....

its unfortunate i get called Gothic and stuff in public when i listen to this :(

    X.... ....

@ItzRawz Just headbutt the fuckers mate

    X.... ....

@ItzRawz Just say thats right, and suck it

    X.... ....

+ItzRawz I've been called a demon and people said my music sounded like the devil when I played this kind of music at work. It don't matter what people think bro.

    X.... ....

ItzFrosty being gothic is fucking awesome dude. Don't let it get you down. Fuckin rock on man

    X.... ....

  21. J.... ....

By far one of my favorite songs of all time

    J.... ....

    @JackJ213 Yes, same here! :D

  22. S.... M....

    Fucking love this album!

  23. M.... M....

You know what frustrates me? People can't make up their minds. "Oh, this album sounds like challenger, all their songs sound the same" then theirs "they need to go back their old style like in sleepwalking, their sound changed". It's obvious people just want something to complain about.
    1. This album doesn't sound like challenger or sleepwalking or any other MMF album. The tone itself is completely different. Someone who has a lot of background in music or is a instrumentalist can easily hear it. The writing style and song format is different in itself.
    2. Obviously a band can't keep it's same structure because it gets too repetitive. That's why all bands change. You can already see people complaining about it and it already hasn't happened.
    3. Just stop and listen to it. I mean actually REALLY listen to it. Lay down, close your eyes, put ear phones on and listen. Especially to the lyrics. These songs have so much heart in it.

    M.... M....

@Matt Moore This album is awful.
    1. It's full of generic metalcore tropes and clichés. Just look at Beneath the skin. Honestly, lyrics don't get more generic than that.
    2. It does sound like Challenger. In fact, you could take any song off this album, place it on challenger and it wouldn't seem out of place.
    3. The mixing on this album is atrocious. Seriously, the guitars sound awful and robotic, the drums sound nonexistent, and Matty's voice is way too loud compared to everything else, it just sounds like a mess.
    4. "These songs have so much heart in it." Maybe if this is the only band you've ever heard. Most of the bands on Rise have lyrics like the ones on this album, they're just you're typical run-of-the-mill lyrics aimed at insecure teenagers.

    M.... M....

@Shane E this album is not awful but okay lmao

    M.... M....

    @Stephen Morgan
You just think that because you're probably a 14 year old scene kid

    M.... M....

@0 0 He's a 14 year old scene kid because he has an opinion? This is my favourite band and I love every song they have. I think every song that I've heard from them is great.

    M.... M....

    @0 0
Cliches and Tropes are what define a genre of music.  If it didnt have them, it wouldnt be metalcore.  That being said, they arent breaking any new ground here, but taking it as it is, this is an above average album when compared to others of similar musical makeup.  The lyrics are specifically more spiritual on this album which is likely why a lot of people like it.  Beneath the skin may sound trite to you but to someone dealing with those issues its an amazing song.

You are correct, the mixing is off a bit as the guitars are kind of buried in the mix a bit.  However, if you think his voice is overpowering the mix or that the drums arent there, you need to invest in some better headphones.  Get an EQ or something.  The drums during certain riffs or breakdowns do get lost with the guitars when they are hitting at the same time but its likely a matter of bad leveling.  As a guitar player, this album frustrates me because its very difficult to pick out guitar parts when trying to learn a song.

I'm not a huge metalcore person and i really like this album.  That may be why metalcore people dont like it.  to each his own tho.

  24. H.... K....

misheard lyric: my crown is a turtle!!

    H.... K....

    @Harrison Koonts GODLIKE

    H.... K....

@Harrison Koonts Please tell this to Jarrod Alonge! XD

  25. S.... ....

This country is fading quickly because this nation basically shuns jesus, and once you don't have God in your life, things can fall apart VERY quickly. I think we're all in for a rude awakening.. We'll see who's right when our time cards get punched!

    S.... ....

@Sphelpsx  ive never believed and i am doing better then i ever have. It's ignorance and your pompous attitude part of the reason why i have no faith. I cant be a perfectly good, decent human being without having a belief in a higher power. i love this band, this album and this music but i hate people like you who are so righteous saying were doomed.. just stop.

    S.... ....

lol, you think you're doing fine, that's the devils deception at work

    S.... ....

just dont forget brother, that it is the love of God that speaks to people the most,

  26. A.... ....

All of MMF albums are awesome <3

    A.... ....

Except the last one they did! -_-

    A.... ....

    Broken:

    - Hold my beer

  27. V.... R....

I went back and re-listened to this album last Saturday and I regret not doing it before. I forgot how good it was. Long live MMF! :)

    V.... R....

Hey Vincent! Nice to see you! I see you everywhere, how you liking Matty's solo album so far? I love it, and I love how the songs express his faith! :P

  28. A.... w....

    this song speaks for itself!
    i love it

  29. F.... F....

    I loved conchetumare!

  30. m.... b....

I love MMF. Have since Sleepwalking. But I also understand that this is a COMMENT section, not a COMPLIMENT section. People are allowed to dislike a fucking song or band if they want. Music is subjective, which means what is good to one person may or may not be good to another.
And all you dumbasses who always say "Why are you fucking here then?!" The person simply came to the page to see if they liked it, they didn't like it, and now they stated that. Simple as that.

    m.... b....

@Leslie Desander please talk to me on myspace i'm incredibly lonely

    m.... b....

    people still use myspace?

    m.... b....

@Leslie Desander um yeah it's only the most popular social networking website in the world

    m.... b....

    @Derrick Jee right, right

    m.... b....

Surely you wouldn't waste your time commenting, if you don't like it just simply click off it. Its not like they are going to change anything about themselves to please a couple of people

  31. M.... ....

Been a fan since their early stuff like the songs "Cowbells making a comeback" and "Conjunctions..". I for one like that for the most part have stayed true to their sound.

  32. n.... ....

I completely understand people who dislike this album due to the softer side. There have been several bands I thought went softer on their newer albums and I was disappointed. Lets think of this......when a band first comes out, their first few CDs are probably angry and fired up. They want to show their hand. Then they tour and tour playing the same emotions in all of their songs. Now they've become successful. No more anger and instead of fire they feel joy and happiness. Its got to be hard to have that anger/fire when life is good. I guess I'm saying even though it sucks I think you have to consider they've played and sweated to a certain emotion through their music and once you get that out of your system you're going to change. I guess we should be happy they are successful. I really enjoy this CD and Challenger. Mullens has a good voice for both. Just a thought. I honestly have no experience in this :)

  33. R.... ....

So good omg I will always love memphis may fire.

  34. T.... ....

People will bitch about a band staying the same, people will bitch about a band changing their sound. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Then there's people who will never be satisfied with either. That's just how life works. It doesn't make it right, but hey, what can you do?

  35. N.... L....

Divinity and Not Enough are by far my favorite song.

I want to say that people should stop hating on them, this album is absolutely amazing!

  36. A.... G....

fuck progression fuck comparing it to other groups just SHUT THE FUCK UP and listen to the music

  37. l.... J....

    "Not Enough" Awesomeness but still awesome. ' . ' * .;

  38. K.... H....

I'm starting to like this band....

    K.... H....

@***** I like that you liked that comment about liking this band

    K.... H....

    @***** I like beef jerky~

    K.... H....

@kool-aid bro I like buffalo jerky

    K.... H....

@MrDaleox I like that you like buffalo jerky, in response to liking beef jerky which was liked because of liking a post that liked my liked comment about liking that comment about liking this band which also liked this band.

  39. D.... B....

    Max volume is "Not Enough"

    D.... B....

Donovan Basile how does this not have more likes

  40. L.... R....

    The best

  41. B.... V....

when a new album from a band is way different than the others people complain...
and when a new album sounds the same as the others people complain...

  42. S.... C....

this album is eh.. ok, does sound like challenger (which i was a big fan of) but too much of the same thing can get boring, the hallow will always be my fav album by them; it's the album that got me into them too

    S.... C....

you're wrong, not me you must be deaf to not notice, it can even take a non memphis may fire fan to tell the similarity buddy

    S.... C....

Ok go and watch interviews about it bud. He says its completely different and I'm pretty sure the actual artist of the music would know if its different or not

    S.... C....

    @Sawyer Rohrer
This album is instrumentally very similar to Challenger, only shittier.

    S.... C....

No it's not. Listen to this song then go listen to the song "Prove me right" and I guarantee you that it doesn't sound similar in any way.

    S.... C....

@Sawyer Rohrer Dude lol yes it is. It's the creative riff, chug, power chord chorus, then breakdown. Instruments sound the exact same as Challenger, there's no arguing that

  43. J.... G....

i showed my friend MMF he said they sucked...We're no longer freiends

  44. B.... A....

    In my opinion it's
    1. The Hollow
    2. Sleepwalking
    3. Unconditional
    4. Challenger

    B.... A....

Yep, but I mean I haven't really listened to Sleepwalking so I couldn't agree completely.

  45. J.... F....

Why is everyone so reluctant to change?
If anything i'd be less enjoyable if it was the same albums over and over.                  but that's just my opinion. Gotta mix things up or they get boring.

    J.... F....

    You said bro

  46. H.... T....

    did matty sell his soul?

    H.... T....

Noooo... What he is saying is he thinks after all he has done he feels he hasn't done enough....

  47. A.... t....

    My crown is a turtle!!

  48. Z.... ....

i like the new sound youtube plays when you like a comment

  49. l.... s....

Everyone's a music critic these days...

  50. L.... D....

I've been supporting this album completely, just not a big fan of this song :)

  51. P.... P....

    This album is not enough

    P.... P....

Lol u said it... Don't worry there not over yet

  52. S.... ....

You guys get all annoyed that they didn't change their sound, but when a band does you all say 'why did you change?you sounded better before,I miss your old sound'. So shut up.

  53. J.... ....

These must've been the leftover songs from The Challenger...

    J.... ....

Inb4 fangirls, "lel fegt these songs don't sound anything like The Challenger" ok.

    J.... ....

to be honest (I don't know if it's because I pay attention to every corner and aspect of every sing I listen to) I don't think this resembles challenger, it has different elements. but I can sense the troll lol.

    J.... ....

    @Justin Peltier LOL

    J.... ....

Not at all bro. This album sounds nothing like Challenger, but this is similar to some on Challenger

    J.... ....

    This song*

  54. L.... ....

He already said there won't be many screams in their new album.. and many bands do the same, yes, I miss the old MMF too but it doesn't mean that this is bad. they are good, expected better indeed, but it's their choice isn't it? you decide if you listen to it or not. look at BMTH, linkin park, adtr, asking alexandria, they changed too. almost everything and everyone changes, you just have to accept it like it or not..

    L.... ....

He didn't say there weren't gonna be no screams with the album, he just said a couple songs.

    L.... ....

@Clayton Medlock I'm talking about 'no many screams' so means a bit. I never said 'no screams'

    L.... ....

@Melissa Lckr Gaming Lol you guys are way too concerned about what others think. It's like it's not even about the music anymore; it's only about other people's opinions of the music or something.

    L.... ....

Well Fuck BMTH! I like this song it reminds me of when I was emo in 6th grade.

    L.... ....

Lckr NO BMTH IS AMAZING!! DONT DIS OLI SYKES!! Sure BMTH's music has changed, but it takes time to write and compose a song. They are still very talented people.

  55. w.... p....

Im gonna wait till the cd is out to judge it so I know it will sound better!

  56. X.... ....

I just am only annoyed with the fact that there is barely any progression from Challenger. It'll work one more time, but I think this card has been played a little too much. Like honestly, ADTR, as much as I do love them, CC just didn't do it for me after a while because of how much it was just like everything else they wrote. When you have a band like TDWP who at least progresses every album and has each one stand it's own two feet, it just gets hard to listen to something I've already listened to for 4 years now. The band is musically awesome, and Matty is a really great vocalist live and on album. But I'm just done listening to no progression, especially in a genre where this sound is riddled in Post Hardcore bands.

    X.... ....

if you dont like it, dont listen to it... i think its their sound so we should live with it i love it! i love the sound of memphis may fire and that will stay that way... although i have to agree with the a day to remember statement! ^^

    X.... ....

@nick de vries There you go!! Motto of the day..

    X.... ....

@Brandon Waskiewicz It is people like you who are never happy. If a band doesn't change their style you get bored. If they change their style you start hating because they changed it. You sir should start a band of your own and style it however you want if you're so annoyed. Good day.

    X.... ....

@Alejandro Franco lmao dude, chill, i like the band. i'm not even trying to hate on the guys, this is what ive observed. But hey, I do have a band, and we're touring in July with The Words We Use and Alive/Alone!

    X.... ....

@Brandon Waskiewicz Ok cool man good luck!

  57. v.... p....

By far this is the best album, anyone who really believes they haven't grown is just stuck on how they're music sounded in the PAST. It's the past you can't expect them to go back to an old sound, even if it sounded great also. This is just more positive and uplifting and that's what music needs. Not anger and hate towards people.

  58. D.... I....

This is just a great song, simple as that. Matty is on the right track.

  59. A.... ....

Lol'ing at the people calling this the most meaningful album ever. You guys ever hear of The Color Morale or Underoath? Apparently not lel

  60. J.... M....

The whispers gave me goose bumps <3 it's such a good album.

  61. L.... C....

I love this album it's even good enough to call it my bro. But it does need more of an oomf to it. Instead of just chuggy chuggy while the course isn't playing go back to the Hollow sound. While there's something else going on besides the course do something that has that dark hopeful sound. The lyrics are amazing & the singing is omg I can't even explain how good Mattys gotten. but they should go back to that a little bit more big fantasy sound. my opinion though 😄 ♡

  62. H.... ....

    MY CROWN IS ETERNAL!!!!!!!!

  63. E.... A....

Some of the people who say they are becoming mainstream are stupid. If you truly love a band and their music then you don't care about all that stuff. MMF will always be one of the bands that I love.

  64. D.... B....

    MY CROWN IS ETERNAL

  65. S.... C....

This song makes me soo happy at the choruses

  66. T.... M....

    Where are the screams?

    T.... M....

    In the songs, your welcome

  67. S.... B....

YALL MOTHA FUCKAS NEED JESUS!!!! sorry, someone had to say it luls

    S.... B....

Matty is the ultimate jesus dude

    S.... B....

Hey man it is true people need Jesus. But the way you said it is pretty much a insult.

    S.... B....

Respect what other people belive in, if you belive in jesus so much i think you should learn that!

    S.... B....

have you people never heard someone say that? just type in "yall motha fuckas need jesus" in the search bar because it was meant to be taken as a joke if you couldnt tell...

    S.... B....

    @JustStop Don't lmao

  68. a.... ....

    This album is amazing!

    God Bless

  71. J.... C....

    Good album!

  72. J.... C....

Why are people so hateful on the internet? This album is good!

  73. M.... A....

I'm an atheist but I like it when people have faith in what they believe in and can express it in a good rather than being ignorant or mean about it. :)

    M.... A....

There needs to be more people like you in the world!

    M.... A....

Lol. I hate how Christians get a bad name because of the stupid protestor telling people how to live their life. I can see why there are athiests but these things that happen may drag me down, but I will still have faith

    M.... A....

you are an atheist? im so so sooorry! my condolences :(

  74. D.... N....

You can be who you are & be a Christian. You're not damned to Hell for having tattoos, sinning, nor the style of music. You're simply damned by not believing. Stop judging every person because they're "Christians" and just enjoy the music. If you don't know Jesus said "It is Done" because he shed his blood on the cross by his perfection so we don't have to strive for perfection as he was for us because we sin. We are not perfect. You don't go to hell for being gay, for murder, nor sinning. It's simply not believing. Learn the Truth. Stop judging.

  76. N.... T....

Why is rise trying so hard to ruin MMF?

  77. C.... C....

This song is about how even if you had everything in the world, it wouldn't be enough. You can never get enough until you give it up. Just so everyone knows, that's all.

  78. a.... ....

i hate these tease videos where we have to listen to shitty youtube quality in the car until the albums on spotify

    a.... ....

Yeah but im pretty sure they'd want fans who can't afford their music to at least have them. Even if it means to torrent.

    a.... ....

yes they want you to be ab le to listen to it and that's why nowadays nearly every band has their songs on youtube and spotify where every view or listen means they get compensated...
but they definitely don't want you to steal their shit because that's what you are doing...

    a.... ....

Shayley is a dick. Just saying. theres a reason his career is gone. Dayshell came and went like a flash.

    a.... ....

yeah, saw mmf lasat night. matty told everyone to torrent it before you can buy it lol case closed

    a.... ....

Definitely preordered and torrented this album. I have brought balance to the force. Everyone can relax.

  79. G.... T....

Sooooo am I the only one thinking Matty is kinda coming off as douchey? DONT ATTACK ME WITH YOUR HATE IM JUST SAYIN'!

    G.... T....

I feel like a lot of people have been saying that, but I met him a few weeks ago on the Unconditional Tour and I can easily say he was the nicest guy I've ever met. So nahh he's not a douche he's a huge sweetheart. cx

    G.... T....

@Carina S You met him once and you know him...?

    G.... T....

No I know he's a cool chill guy I'm just saying the lyrics are coming off as like fuck everybody...he just seems tired of everyone's shit lol but I know he's cool

  80. K.... F....

Is it just Me...or do the first 3 seconds of the song sound like the beginning of "without walls" and like "prove me right" from Challenger.

  81. r.... ....

Each album by MMF are like my children, different in their own ways but, love them equally!!

  82. Z.... S....

Every song on this album is diverse I'm so confused by the people calling this album generic or repetitive. I think the bottom line is haters don't like the lyrics and therefore "mmf is terrible" we don't want to hear heartfelt emotional lyrics. I want swearing and brutality for the sake of brutality. Guess there's not enough hate here for haters to get their fix :/

  83. F.... A....

I kinda miss when Matty used to scream lot more but I guess I'm loving his voice. The album is amazing. One of the deepest and beautiful.

    F.... A....

    Are your jimbobs flustered?

  84. N.... T....

I don't know if it's a bad thing, but while everyone else is fighting about whether or not the music is good, i'm just sitting here loving the music and enjoying the names in the comments x) some of them are pretty interesting :D especially last names :P

  85. L.... O....

I swear every song is about how he hates being apart of the music scene. His lyrics seems like he hates what he does

    L.... O....

If you know what they went through before they signed with rise, then you'll know why he writes songs against the music industry. It has nothing against the band.

    L.... O....

@Eli Horton Deuces Las Cruces. For real.

    L.... O....

He says in an interview he loves what he does, he just thought that's what he needed to be happy but, he figured out it wasn't as he got all those things.

    L.... O....

He loves his job.. peace out

    L.... O....

Actually, that's not it. In the "Inside UNCONDITIONAL WITH Matty Mullins" he clearly states that he wasn't lookin for fame, or money or anything even though he enjoys those things. He said it boils down to love, that's what he meant by "Not Enough". You should probably research these things before just making assumptions, especially about hate when you clearly see Matty worked hard to get where he is & love what he does.

  86. S.... O....

I like this album the best. matty's an amazing screamer, but he has an amazing voice too

  87. A.... N....

I've heard about half of the album and so far I'm not loving it. In fact I hardly like it at all. Not because it's bad, but it's not nearly the same sound as the MMF that was my favourite band. I understand bands change and "grow", if you will. I just don't enjoy the changes they've made. First they lost their southern sound, but they still had a unique sound and I loved it. I feel they've really lost that sound with this album though and it is kind of generic. This is my OPINION. I don't want anyone to hear people bitching because I have an opinion.

    A.... N....

I think it's okay. But I was always blown away by MMf, and this album hasn't done that. And yes, I really liked the southern sound. It was very unique.

    A.... N....

I know what you mean!  I don't think I am gonna buy this one.  I think challenger almost lost me because I think they just kept their sound, but lost their soul.  MMF has passed their peak in my opinion.  I don't hear enough maturing for the music to keep my interest.

    A.... N....

this is exactly what I think and feel too...

    A.... N....

Right? I still like it, but I expected so much more because they hadn't ever disappointed before.

    A.... N....

The Hollow had tons of soul in it. So much passion. They became heavier but at the same time more melodic. They got rid of the southern sound though but the album was ridiculously good and had a unique sound. Challenger was an album that I'll admit I didn't like at first. Maybe I set my expectations too high because of the hollow. It took me a couple listens to fully accept (I'm not the only one). Now I like it a lot but it's always going to live in The Hollow's shadow imo. They basically took the same sound of the hollow, made it softer/more mainstream, and took away the edge that the hollow had. Also sometimes I laugh when I think about or listen to Challenger because I think to myself "we get it, being famous is hard, stop bitching" which is kind of the feel I get from it. Challenger was softer and mainstream but still an over-all good album. Unconditional takes the SAME EXACT sound but puts an alienating religious over-tone to it. Soft, mainstream, no soul, AND religion? If the sound of Challenger wasn't already alienating for some, this just puts it over the top. Basically this is how I can explain to Christians who don't understand where I am coming from 'Challenger was good but a disappointment, Unconditional is the exact same but it focuses too much on religion to where non-religious people can't go to their shows anymore due to not being able to scream their hearts out like you because you relate." I'm not going to sing my lungs out to songs that hold messages that I don't believe in. You expect me to scream about how I've been saved from sin when I don't even believe in sin? Sorry, no can do. It's the same as telling Christians to go to a Slayer concert and scream about how "GOD HATES US ALL" over and over again. A lot of them are not comfortable doing that. It's the exact same for me. I'm not comfortable with this album, not saying it's bad. It's good but too much, man. Too much.

  88. D.... H....

THIS IS THE ONE I LOVE!

  89. C.... R....

Just to make sure , this song is almost like "the burden" part 2 right ? I'm loving it though :)

  90. Z.... C....

I, for one, am actually REEEEEEEEALLY loving this album. I feel like I can somehow relate to every song

  91. C.... Z....

People hate when the band changes, and hates when the band stays the same. Can't please anyone these days. Deep meaning to every song I've heard so far. Maybe people can't comprehend this type of critical thinking.

  92. A.... ....

People need to realize that bands change when they get more popular. Sleepwalking was the best album cause they had to actually put in their best to please you. Then the Hollow folled and it was again fantastic. Then the challenger. personally i didnt like the challenger, but at that point they were popular. This album is my opinion better then the challenger.

    A.... ....

    @Alex Palmer i definitely agree

    A.... ....

Same here, the lyrics hold so much more value. That's what matters most to me!

    A.... ....

The Challenger brought people from Main Stream Bands (Asking Alexandria, Sleeping with Sirens) Am I saying Mainstream bands are bad? Not really, But Main stream bands WERE better at there prime. Only songs I really enjoyed from The Challenger were Prove me Right and Without Walls. But regardless, bands that start out will always be fantastic until they have been on tour so maay times and have been signed by labels.
How do you avoid your favorite band from going mainstream and sucking? Personally I think you should just get there music free off the internet so they dont make enough money to go mainstream, but I guess that wouldnt be fair to them.

    A.... ....

@AMULovsCookies Granted becoming mainstream CAN ruin bands, but no matter what a large number of bands can lose their touch. However, some bands who become mainstream get better. If you ask me, I See Stars got way better than their first album. Sleeping With Sirens got more musically talented, and got better suited for the sound they wanted. I agree that Sleeping With Sirens' first album was their best though. Memphis May Fire's Challenger album was in my opinion if not as good as The Hollow, extremely close to being as good. I think that since MMF's sound changed so much with The Hollow, they set the bar really high, and that's why The Hollow was so fantastic, but consider Challenger a MMF sophomore attempt because it was only their second album that sounded that way. Sleepwalking sounded totally different, so I think it shouldn't be counted as part of the MMF recent release. If you consider Challenger to a lot of other bands sophomore attempts with their sound, Challenger is such a great album. Consider Challenger to Reckless & Relentless from Asking Alexandria, or Let's Cheer To This by SWS. They are all great albums, but Challenger as a second attempt to their new sound, it was so great. Bands getting signed to labels doesn't always ruin them. Pierce The Veil got signed to Fearless, and got better. Motionless In White signed to Fearless, and got better. The Word Alive signed to Fearless, and got better. Meanwhile, Memphis May Fire signed to Rise, and got worse. Sleeping With Sirens signed to Rise, and got worse. I think it has to do with the record label changing their sound. Bands should stop signing to Rise, and start signing with Fearless, Sumerian, and Victory.

    A.... ....

@Alex Palmer Not to mention 'Without Walls'. May be the shortest track on the album and pretty much just an intro, but each time I start the album by listening to that song, it just blows me away.

  93. C.... R....

Stop hating on the album..... This album has more meaning then any other i have ever heard. Thats why this band is as great as they are.

  94. B.... ....

    This is good.

  95. M.... T....

Well the album is ok. not the best one...but its ok.
