one of my favourite songs ever!!!!

She of course had to work in an office rather than a noisy warehouse and quit a great job and sing on the street for peanuts. I understand the meaning of the song, I just wished to bring up these points.

And yet she was more filled by each of those single peanuts than for every nicety of a cozy office.

@McZidanne she's the daughter of a hear surgeon. Don't get me wrong, I like her singing very much, but this song just don't fit her priviledged life. It's a real John Mayall BLUESbreaker

Katie Melua.. She is definitely talented & so beautiful.. 

I suppose that her 1st album is the less attractive album of her (in my opinion), her 2nd is just a good step in the right direction as the rest is... but of course even her 1st is better than the average (mtv) stuff around

in my opinion her first is her best too,because in this,there is something like jazz and blues..in her last ketevan,were very much pop and i coudnt find something like in call of the search or the others..my opinion.

Ok but i never said that her 1st was my fave Melua album...on the contrary... but well if everybody had the same opinion (on everything) the world would be boring ;-)

@alexandert1977 It's John Mayall's song actually, but I like Katie version much more, sounds very organic, like it's HER song, and it is truly so - she is enjoying playing music, and it's a rare gift, not only musical talent, but also a possibility to do things in life, that you DO like, and not that you forced to do.

If there's one thing I could wish right now, it's too stick around, hang around, walk around, talk about life and make a bit of music together with her for just one day (or two)... My life is also a slow train crawling up a hill... The difference is that she keeps it crawling up slowly, and I have to stop it and use all the breaks heavily not to slide away down that hill and crash down death at the bottom with high speed.... :|
