Melissa Manchester - Just Too Many People Lyrics

Somebody told me a long, long time ago
O baby, I feel a change in me
Is comin' on
I've found the strength I need
To carry on
Something's come over me at last

Sweet darlin', long as you stay by me
I'm halfway home
I can see brighter days before me
Tho' it's been stormy
At least I know I'm not alone

'Cause there's just too many people
In this world
Who are undecided
There's just too many broken people
Afraid to take a stand
There's just too many lonely people

Livin' in a house divided
By loneliness and sorrow
I'll never understand

Somebody told me a long, long time ago
Remember when you need something to believe in
Look in my eyes to find your heaven
I'll make it happen
I need to know you're there

'Cause there's just too many people
In this world
Who are undecided
There's just too many broken people
Afraid to take a stand
There's just too many lonely people
Livin' in a house divided
By loneliness and sorrow
It's more than I can stand

This one didn't get any airplay here in the southwest, but I heard for a few weeks on Casey Kasem's American Top 40...I remembering hoping it would be a really big hit for Melissa at the time...It's a great record.

  36. M.... M....

Good song!  I remember this got a lot of airplay on L.A.'s radio stations when it first came out.  Now it's a lost gem of the 70s.

  37. P.... ....

LOVE her.. LOVE this song!! So talented!!!

  38. L.... C....

Those of us who are of a certain age, will always remember her songs and voice from the very beginning, though 1975 looks long and far away. Thanks Milady for the good moments.

  39. C.... S....

    love this song!

  40. M.... L....

    FABULOSA CANCIÓN||||

  41. N.... M....

" When you need something to believe in, look in my eyes, you'll find your heaven . . . I'll make it happen".......Do you think the younger generation hears a reassuring lyric like that in today's Rap songs? (sigh)

  42. b.... ....

Strange memory of this song. I was watching an episode of Medical Center..the one where Robert Reed ( the father on The Brady Bunch) played a doctor who decides to have a sex change operation. I swear this was not a dream. When I listen to the words of this song today, it seems fitting for that particular episode..I suppose. Odd subject matter for a show from 1975, and I was only in the 5th grade at the time. Never forgot this song though.

  43. 7.... ....

What a hit.. what a singer... beautiful song... Melissa's best!
Reminds me of the times back in the 70's when I was dating my Baby and still my beautiful wife, Betsy, after 37 years!!

    Bravo & Shalom, Melissa!

  46. b.... ....

Thought I was the only person in the world who loved this song.

  47. b.... ....

    この2作目"思い出にさようなら"でノック・ダウンさせた、メリサ・マンチェスターの秀曲、AORシンガーでは片付けられぬ幅広い音楽性ウーマン

  48. r.... ....

An incredible song, under appreciated, but that still doesn't take away from its greatness!

  49. m.... ....

I always liked this song and I'm grateful to find it here. Thanks for posting!

  50. L.... ....

    Dear Mike,
Thanks for posting this; it has not been on you-tube for ages.
    .
If it gets deleted, make a note of my name and message me of your new location for this song.
    .
I remember this in the seventies and still have a copy on tape but it is more convenient than looking through the cupboard to find it; to hear it on you-tube.
    .
    .
    Cheers.
    from,
    del-boy.
