Meg & Dia - Breakdown Lyrics
You threw me out on the sidewalk last night
You dumped my clothes out the window too
I threw rocks at the glass panes and wood
We need to talk I needed a word with you
but you told me i needed to lose
a few pounds on the body I love
I went to work and I talked with a man I grew up with
He said, "Oh, a sad sight you are. You are slowly unraveling me. Oh, no tears on a Tuesday you need better than what he can give you"
He held me tight for longer than normal
I cuddled close I couldn't believe it
he whispered words in my ear it was nice
but it wasn't the same when he called me the wrong name
I ran off down the street down the corner
and he caught me in his arms
and once again he delivered a comfort
a need i had known ever since i was young
he said "oh a sweet sight you are you are slowly unraveling me. Oh, I 'd kill for your heart, what a strange man indeed who would lose you."
oh a sweet sight you are you are slowly undoing me
oh I'd kill for your heart. What a strange man indeed who could lose you.

Dishwasher:
Washed her out
This album was recorded at their house. It was so DIY, that Meg or Dia joked about how you could kind of hear the dishwasher running in the background.
The 4th verse brings a bit confusion. It is either about guy#1 again--how their relationship seems to be back to normal until he calls her by the wrong name, or about guy #2 who somehow calls her by the wrong name also, but I want to believe the former. Essentially, the rest of the lyrics is about guy#2, who comforts her again.
I'm not exactly sure on what the real story behind this story is, but based on the lyrics, it seems like the characters are two guys and a girl. The first and second verse seems to be about the girl's current boyfriend, who is clearly mistreating her. She's hurt, and she talks to guy#2, who comforts her.
something didn't sound right, i looked and it was at 240p

@JamsyBoy396 Because a dishwasher supposed to make its magical appearance in the song
wait, why is everyone talking about a dishwasher 0_o
who would dislike this song? shame on you!
i hear no dishwasher xD
this song is too beautiful and as dramatic as can be without overdoing it. this song sends a since of , both, sadness and comfort, at the same time. it's genius.
what do people mean by dishwasher?
@automaticchic go buy it nub
Dishwasher? Plz explain
COULD ANYONE PASTE A LINK ON WHERE TO DL AN MP3 OF THIS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I CAN'T FIND IT!!!!
Its def breakdown and its def not that low rumble. Was looking so hard I over thought it. If anything its the hiss at the end of the song. None of the other songs have it. Sounds like the hiss from an old cassette tape if anyone on here remembers that.
It could almost pass for 16th notes! Very easy to miss.
I start to hear it at about 2:57: it sarts a few seconds sooner but it hits its "stride" bout there. I'm DJ and an engineer so my ears are trained for that sort of thing. Its a very low whomp whomp whomp. Listen for a "bass line" that isn't quite on beat
I love this song!! I keep on replaying it..!! Its such a good osng!!!
What does a dishwasher sound like?
LOL!! everybody's including me trying to hear the dishwasher section!!! :D...soo funny
BTW, This song is very good!!!
Dia is awesome!!
i dunno. maybe it blended with the music. or maybe only dia can identify it cos' she's familiar with her mom's dishwasher. just listen to their music. lol
when can u hear the dishwasher?
lol! dishwasher!
@Silvertounge14 I can't either. :(
I can't hear the dishwasher
@MicroMelody22 haha oh gosh I feel like my top has changed since I wrote that comment. But Top 3 for Cocoon would probably be Unsinkable Ships and Breakdown in no order. And the 3rd favorite is probably a tie between Separate, Teddy Loves Her & Love Is.
Wow she has a great voice
Call 1-855-864-2303 to vote for Dia!!
