McMillan, John Mark - Heart Bleeds Lyrics

We could be reveling
Forever in the love you bring
And we could be wasted on
You and not count it lost

Like fools in love
We're bound to make a scene
Our hearts bleed for you, oh
Our hearts bleed for you, oh

Our hearts bleed, our hearts bleed
For you
We could burn down the days
Inside the light of your face

And we could throw the years away
And not regret the price we paid
Like fools in love
We're bound to make a scene

Our hearts bleed for you, oh
Our hearts bleed for you, oh
Our hearts bleed, our hearts bleed
For you

You have loved alive the dead and gone
And filled our thirsty veins with blood and song
Our hearts bleed for you, oh
Our hearts bleed for you, oh

Our hearts bleed, our hearts bleed
For you

Man I'm never really happy, maybe I expect too much from ppl and life. But your music brings a certain joy, thank you.

    Hey man,
I agree, John Mark's music does bring that genuine quality to music that is hard to come by now-a-days. I get a lot of joy from listening to his music as well. Just thought I'd try to give you some encouragement. I know you had mentioned not really being happy. I struggle with getting really down from time to time. I don't think it's really depression just more like sorrow. If you find encouragement through the Bible I'd encourage you to check out John 16:33, Jesus plainly tells His disciples (and us), "...in the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Meriam-Webster's first definition of tribulation is 'unhappiness, pain, or suffering'. Jesus knew and told us that we will not find our ultimate fulfillment and happiness here on earth, but rather in eternity with Him. A CS Lewis quote that really helps me to think- "If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” If we find ourselves desiring that ideal world and life, our internal desire is really to spend eternity with Christ. He has overcome this fallen world. And He offers us that same victory if we trust in Him as our Savior. Then we can even have joy in this life here on earth more abundantly (John 10:10), because we get to enjoy a relationship with Him and share His life-giving Truth with others in need. From what I've gathered, I think a lot of John Mark's songs actually reflect on this. The fallenness of man and of this world, but also the desire for God and an eternal relationship with Him. And then in turn even finding glimpses of beauty in this life through love and relationships. But, I just thought I'd leave you a little reminder of encouragement. I hope I didn't come off as preachy, but I definitely didn't want to leave anything out that may be helpful for you. If you want to talk, just reply. I can send you my email address or something.
