McLachlan, Sarah - Wear Your Love Like Heaven Lyrics
[Originally performed by DONOVAN]
Color in sky prussian blue
Scarlet fleece changes hue
Crimson ball sinks from view
[CHORUS]
Wear your love like heaven
Wear your love like heaven
Wear your love like heaven
Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven
Color sky havana lake
Color sky rose carmethene
Alizarian crimson
[CHORUS]
Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven
Wear my love like heaven
Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven
Wear my love like heaven
Cannot believe what I see
All I have wished for will be
All of our race proud and free
[CHORUS]
Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Allah kiss me once more
That I may, that I may
Wear my love like heaven
Wear my love like heaven

McLachlan, Sarah Wear Your Love Like Heaven Comments
They used the original in a perfume commericial in 1970, which is where I 1st heard the song. I put that, this and Donovan's original version in my Donovan playlist. Thanks for the upload!
This one is good though
The original is still my favourite
What a great cover version.
The Bassist is outstanding
All you have wished for will be ☺
Ur bass player be doin it ☺
BEST version of this song!
Great singer invoice but this is definitely not the song for her
Precious tune... also it has the baddest bass in the universe....Super fantastic song by glorious Sarah.
Sarah's voice is so beautiful & pure.. I fell in love when I heard her sing this version because the words meant something to me.. 💕 I didn't know it was even a cover. lol People should stop comparing a cover to a classic. If everyone sounded the same music would be boring. I'm grateful she did this cover.. now I can look into Donovan's music.
Both versions are excellent. And your comment is wise.
This one isn't a touch on Donovan
well done-
Allah is not my god, however.
Allah does not exist
Allah translated to English literally means, "the God". Muslims, Christians and Jews worship the same God, just by different accounts of his presence.
Sarah McLachlan is an atheist actually...
@Ethan Reilly 1 Corinthians 4:4
@davidbrian79 Yes she is. Interestingly though, Sarah mentions talking to God in the song "Hold on".
She usually isn't quite so experimetnal! I put this in my Donovan playlist with the original and a 1970's shampoo commecial based on it!
Nice big bad souNd
que horribl e version
Give the lady a break! She's not Donovan, but she is doing a thoughtful, respectful take on his song. This is from someone who remembers when Donovan's song was brand new!
I usually don't put much faith in meddling with a masterpiece, but in this case I would have to say it's a successful meddle.
Another example would be Lauren O'Connel's cover of the Everley Bros. hit "Dream". Check it out!
she has such a good voice.. she could have nailed this cover brilliantly.. but the music just doesn't work.
Shamefull disrespect from a classic song.
@noraadan ok then, how about 50 times better?
the original is 100 times better.
I was born in 1957. This is hideous.
@Rottenhaus sorry, i'm gonna have to stick to my original comment, i will say that her version made me appreciate the original!!
she should have never touched this song!!! THE ORIGINAL IS SO MUCH BETTER!
God this stuff is old yet it's so catchy. I guess all older stuff is catchy.
Love this older stuff!
