Sara's Wintersong album is one of the best holiday collections ever recorded. I've worn out two CDs and have ordered a 3rd and a 4th! Sarah McLachlan is a huge talent and I think grossly overlooked, but she is a great treasure to me and I am grateful my wife introduced me to her music.

My wonderful husband passed away early Christmas Morning, unexpectedly of a heart attack. He has always been my better half, my soul mate. He made wooden toys, and to lose him on this very special day was a shock. I miss him terribly. And this song is a poignant reminder of what Christmas used to be for us. We were married almost 47 years. I am broken.

I’m praying for you. It never really gets easier but I hope these upcoming holidays are filled happy memories old and new.

This is part of life and the death cycles. So much goes on between peoples lives. From horrific to pleasant. IF you found love and security and a deep connection that spanned almost 50 years ( and it may have as you no doubt may have known him before wedding officially) you absolutely need to remember that so many people NEVER find such a relationship. Yet alone know security and all the rest of it . Which makes you rather privileged. You may be broken hearted with the death. But that is greatly tempered by your life you had in the cycles and no doubt the positivity you had. My sense on people like yourself is that you were still in the process of grieving as of the posting of your message here. Don't bargain. Don't negotiate. Live and remember with stillness and respect. That is not being broken ultimately. And really he no doubt is still lingering and watching.The wooden toys sound charming. His energy will be deeply embedded in any of them if you have them around. Bless.

I lost my mom last year on Mother's Day. I was holding it together pretty well for the holidays until I heard Sarah sing this song on a Christmas TV special. Turned me to a puddle of mush for no real apparent reason. Guess just the simplicity of the song and vocals got to me on some deep level. Anyway, thanks for putting this song up. Merry Christmas!

It isnt inventive, nor revolutionary, but does justice to Mr. Guaraldi by delivering the classic melody through a pitch perfect performance by Sarah. It evokes the beauty of the original while using the female vocal to further emphasize the tone and mood of the piece, which she does perfectly. A good listen for any time of the year!

Not horrible, and comming from Sarah that is saying a lot. Her voice, however is lacking that jazzy quality needed for the song, and anyone who says different need only listen to Mel Torme's version to find this one falling short. Great piano however.

I originally wanted to use Collective Soul's "December" for the song, but it kept getting blocked. This song fit just as well, just a little slower. I used Proshow Producer to create the video
