Here because I heard Jake Hoot do it on The Voice -- he was fantastic!

This song came out about a year after my 1st wife of 6 years ran off with my so called best friend of 17 years. She was from western Oklahoma was tall, tan and slender and it was love at first sight....but she had one major problem she lied ......as i found out from the first day i met her... all lies. Fast forward 30+ years my second wife of almost 24 years died 20 months ago. Im 62 now and retired and never thought in a million years that find anybody else at my age....but i may have ....to early to know....Now Im afraid of getting married and trying to protect my house and money.

The horse is obviously a wild horse that was never met to be tamed. Releasing it was the best thing she could do. This kind of reminds me of the back story to how Kacey Musgraves wrote Space Cowboy.

I've always loved this song but hadn't thought about it in a while until Mr Hoot sang it on The Voice. #Hooter!

Tbh, I've been on both sides of this.

1994 just out of high school, working home construction with a small contractor in a small vacation area in Montana. My best friend at the time introduced me to country music with this song. Have loved Reba and 90’s country music ever since. Reba’s voice is so unbelievably gorgeous. What range and tone. This song brings back a flood of memories. Good times.

I know this pain. I raised by two daughter alone while she ran off. Today I have 5 grandchildren who adore me and don’t know her. I live with the hurt but the guilt ruined her life.

I think by far that this is Reba's best song. It's beautiful, sad, heart-felt, & has so much truth in it for so many people. Unlike many of the stories & comments below, mine is a tale of what happens when a person finds the "right-man/right-woman" early on in life.
I met my husband, Steve, when I was 18 & he was 20. We met & he asked me to marry him 2 mos later. We were engaged for 4 mos before the rings & promises of fidelity & love were vowed. This week we'll celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary, as well as my 64th birthday (we married one week after I turned 19). We've both kept our vows through the ups & downs of life, & I can't imagine my life without this man. I not only still love him w/ everything that's in me, but I still like him.....a LOT! He says he feels the same way about me.
So, those of you have not yet found your "right" person, here's my advise, take it or leave it........It's not about finding the right person, it's about BEING the right person so that one day that special guy or gal will meet you & say to themselves, "He/she might not be perfect, but they're perfect for me." Everyone needs to work at being the best person they can be, so that when that special guy/gal sees you, he/she will recognize you as belonging to them & no one else. No one-night stands, no having sex before marriage, no lying or cheating on your own soul, because all of that baggage goes w/ you into the next relationship, & it adversely affects a bond that should never be broken by infidelity before or after marriage.

Men suck. Marriage is over rated..my husbands been cheating on me since we met.. I'm sure W his ex wives also. I'm also completely dependent on him and can't escape..
