I'm always reminded of my best friend when I listen to this song. We were inseparable for 6 years and we grew close because we were the crazy horse girls at out school. She died October 13th, 2019 and I still miss her every single day. I ride her horse a lot now because I feel closer to her on his back than I do anywhere else. Rest in Peace Melia. I'm so grateful for being so close to my Dad in my young adulthood, and him believing in me made me who I am today, many years after his passing, but I so remember how he said how he loved me, but also needed me to be there for his new wife and son, as he knew he wouldn't be here much longer. Sure enough he passed away when young brother Wayne was only 4 yrs. old, but I was there then and to this day still. Young brother Wayne is so much like him it's scary sometimes, and he's as stubborn as me and Dad were. Very strong beautiful character in that young boy, now a man,, and don't worry Dad, no matter what we are there for our Mamma Louise too! I hope you can see us from wherever you are and proud of all of us! I miss you every day Dad!

Love this song, cried as listened, most beautiful words. I have lost both parents, my dad had cancer in 1999, my mom diagnosed dementia lost her 10 years later. My paternal grandfather died after I was born, paternal grandma after my dad died. I lost my maternal grandmother in 2006 to cancer, I am grateful to have my maternal grandfather still here, he is 94 years old, I know one day God will be ready to take him, it will be a very hard day for me, he is all I have left for a mentor. He has taught me a lot growing up and he is the best grandpa one could have. Thanks Reba for a beautiful song. I know you wrote it for your dad, God Bless you

I actually never thought I would ever have to go through this again, but boy was I wrong, over 2.5 year ago our family lost a wonderful man that has taken us into his home. We were just strangers on the street. My mom and the wonderful man knew each other, but us 6 children did not know this man. He gave us a loving home and gave us clothes and food. He has shown us unconditional love also. If we wanted something and he would get it for us. Him and my mother got married in 2009. we were living with him since 98. Then April 1st of 2017 our world got was taken away when the heavenly father said it was his time to come home, all of us were in the hospital room when he took his last breath. My mother ran out of the room and saying this is not real, she had a mental break down after she soon realized that it was all true. We are still not over him being gone, it is so hard to say goodbye to someone that was always there and strong for us.


My biological father passed away when I was 3 years old, I have a very small memory of him.

my Dad's words and wisdom thought me for many years in my young adulthood. He may have not been there as often as I wanted him to be in my youth, because of divorce, etc...but I was stubborn as he was and he kept me going through college and then working for a lawyer, and my career started by his words..........and I'll never forget what he went through to give me that strength, as we both run like those horses!!!

OMG, thank you, as my father who was so black-balled from us kids when they divorced that it took so long for me to see the two sides of the story........I just started working for a lawyer when I was out of college at the age of 18yrs. old, and that's when I learned about how he influenced me in my life, stubborn just like your father was the famous words I heard so many years? (Reba's next song???) Stubborn like dad? I'm still very stubborn like he was, and strong willed woman, but he died so young at the age of 56yrs, and my mom at the age of 47yrs., wow, and I was left raising 3 minor children all at once, but hey, went through that shit back in 1986 and 1989......and I'm still kicking ass out there? thank you Reba for your dedication song to your father, wish I could share it with my siblings, but I think there's about only 2 of us who feel his love......I know I was his favourite so my step-mom says, but shit, and dang, I still wish he was here to give me shit for my single life and weekend partying, etc...Miss you Dad.
