McCartney, Paul - Somedays Lyrics
Somedays I look,
I look at you with eyes that shine.
Somedays I don't,
I don't believe that you are mine.
Who won the match or scored the goal.
Somedays I look,
Somedays I look into your soul.
Sometimes I laugh,
I laugh to think how young we were.
Sometimes it's hard,
It's hard to know which way to turn.
Don't ask me where I found that picture on the wall,
Sometimes I laugh,
I laugh to think how young we were.
We don't need anybody else
To tell us what is real.
Inside each one of us is love,
And we know how it feels.
Somedays I cry,
I cry for those who live in fear.
Somedays I don't,
I don't remember why I'm here.
No use reminding me, it's just the way it is,
Who ran the race and came in first.
Somedays I cry,
I cry for those who fear the worst.
We don't need anybody else
To tell us what is real.
Inside each one of us is love,
And we know how it feels.
Somedays I look,
I look at you with eyes that shine.
Somedays I don't,
I don't believe that you are mine.
It's no good asking me what time of day it is,
Who won the match or scored the goal.
Somedays I look,
Somedays I look into your soul.

My favorite song on this album!
Great song and brilliant album.Love it so much.
Paul at his best moments.
Good hero is the channels name reversed
This is one of many very good Macca albums, very strong songs and good vocals.
Haunting.
Thanks for reminding me of this beautiful solo song. Poignant.
Flaming Pie was such a great piece of work and probably one of Paul’s best solo albums, because it was Paul at his most vulnerable and personal. He was going through a lot with Linda and it showed through these songs.
This is some masterful writing.
Such a deep song, in lyrics, melody and the pictures all of these create.
My personal favourite McCartney song.
Sometimes i'm stuck and my body refuse to feel.
Sometimes i'm lost and my eyes refuse to hear.
But now i know, now i know how to let it go.
Thanks mister McCartney, it help me a lot tonight .
Paul will always be number one x
Paul McCartney is God!
In 2008 in Tel Aviv in your concert you did not perform this song. In 2011, I flew to Paris for your performance at Bercy and once again you did not do that song. It disappointed me.
His best solo work and album for me. Stunning
In my opinion, this is one of Paul's most beautiful songs he's ever written. Lots of his songs are magnificently written, like this one, but none of his songs actually made me cry the first few times I heard it. This song just has that charm to it that sometimes still makes me emotional.
You know a song has meaning when it’s so simple but still hits you a certain way
This is wonderful song! I LOVEEE LOVEE LOVEE THIS SONG! 💛💜💙💚💗💗💗
One of my favorite albums of his.... or anyones.
1997...
This underrated gem by Paul is one of his most beautiful tunes. It gets me all choked up every time I hear it.
This would seriously have to be one of his best solo songs. It's just unbelievable . It would have been a number 1 if it was written in the Beatles era that's for certain...... That small guitar solo is mind blowing
It seems to me this song is about Linda and John!
I guess he really misses John
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic but he does miss John. John would have written an edgier middle 8.
I am so thankful for Sir Paul. Probably the human who has had the biggest impact on me out of those I've never met. Just a superb human.
Reminds me of for no one by beatles
That's a good call. You are 100% right. It's the same kind of feel.
Yes, it’s maybe the “baroque” tone, and also the clarinet.
Such a great song
Está muy buena

Anybody else is better...
Love this album. I've not heard it in years and years. I listened to it every single night for 4 months, under a blanket of stars in the middle of the Saudi desert. GREAT album! Thank you Sir Paul.
Anybody Else

"Breakfast with The Beatles" brought me here \m/ Great song
Best song.
McCartney's best album by far. Such an amazing song
All time greatest artist
Stunning that he still had something as great as this inside him.
beutiful song
Coming after listening - The Beatles - Anybody Else (Everyday Chemistry) 😀
come here via my mum who lived in and worked in Liverpool in the sixties and my dad who saw them live in 1963 , just before they got their first number 1 in the USA , this is his best song in about 40 years , it is very very good.
Sameeeeeee.
I cant explain why but this is not only my all time favorite McCartney song but probably my favorite ever song!! I can remember hearing it for the 1st time when the album came out and being blown away. My fav part is from 1:51 to 2:10. Just magic.
*Sometimes I laugh*
*I laugh to think how young we were*
A very great piece from the XXth century. Slow, gentle,, warm and it if Beatles still was here.
75 years old and still jamming out..
this doesn't have more views.....why?!?? :, (
очень люблю эту песню l love this song
I decided to seek out some of Paul's other music that didn't go over so good with some people. This is one of his best, simple and it flows very well. Glad we found some we cam actually play pretty good, thanks Paul
my favorite song! #💓 💜 💓 💞 💝 💘 💗 💟 it's sad but it makes me feel strong !!!!#💓 💜 💓 💞 💝 💘
Paul's solo work is so underrated. Infuriates me that some people claim his work after the beatles is largely mediocre. They obviously haven't listened to it all.
rusrockt10 , I think John solo was spotty plus he took five years off. John wrote several pretty ballads solo and one very good rock solo song, instant karma. Seventies Paul was ALL over genre types, from very early days to late seventies and the great solo wings tour. He also had more hits.
heighwaysonthewing , his solo swoops the genres and is hardly average.
TheEloquentGear , always said by folks who PETRIFIED in late sixties, John or George fans or those who CANNOT take great variety of Paul music.
rusrockt10 , John’s solo was erratic....he was able to continue writing a few beautiful ballads....but John had some down songs and times...rock n roll music a disaster..,sad he retired those five years and wasted vinyl on yoko, especially her early screaming and yodeling..
Agree. Pauls post Beatles music is phenominal
for me, this is Paul's best song & George Martin's best score - period.
Yes ... It's right up there with Eleanor Rigby and She's Leaving Home for me
Yes, Paul's best song ....the best song ever recorded!
@Gary Alsop It reminds me more of Blackbird and Jennie Wren. I wish he'd do a bunch more like this. It is a great melody, no doubt about that.
This particular song I´d like to dedicate to my grandparents , whom - if they had been alive today , would have been married for 75 years .. oh , how I miss them .. my grandmother passed away the 12th of October 1998 and my grand-dad in February back in 2010 .. they were together for almost 60 years , and are now re-united in Heaven .. R.I.P. both of you <3 <3 <3 - and today there is only 25 days left , before me and my friend Sille Lothart will attend the OneONOne concert in Herning, Denmark -looking forward to see you again Sir Paul McCartney ;-) :-) - after so many years gone by ... almost 25 years , and I still got the ticket from the concert in Falconer Centre in Copenhagen on the 25th of July 1991 ... those were the days .. LOVE to see you once again .. ;-) <3 <3 <3 :-)
Beautiful
What a beautiful melody....
his best disc? heavy stuff.
i agree
VERY BEATLESQUE.
the whole album is
Flaming Pie is a masterpiece
Princess Bubblegum All of his music is a masterpiece
The guitar reminds me of For Noone from Revolver.
música linda!! Paul the best...
if only the politicians could feel such emotion. the whole human race would survive until the suns demise
Songs like this makes me wish that all the people I care and love could right now feel the emotions I experience when listening to this. Truly spectacular song writer and performer and still to this day, unbelievably unappreciated by many. The best.
Ji L exactly how I feel

Google: _Truth Contest_
stop with the stupid "truth contest" I see it on every Beatles video and its annoying
+History12346 Nothing will ever stop it. I'm glad a lot of people have found out about the truth contest.
+Chin Xiao Yeah well it gets annoying when people say it 300 times on a video.

Somevdays I look into your soul
'Somedays' I just think about McCartney's massive body of work and feel blessed.
And everyday you are right, Paul McCartney is something else, we are blessed, but 50 years ago in 2 plus weeks we were all blessed by the BEATLES! Simply the BEST! Don't cha think?
Saw Paul in Chicago couple of weeks ago.Just plain INCREDIBLE! All the days not somedays, I'm glad I am a Babyboomer who has seen the best musicians ever! Don't you agree?
john63van , just went through YouTubes, now extraordinary bootlegs, MASSIVE amount, ASTONISHINGLY genre variety

Don't ever try to buy Paul's picture of John or he will kick you out!
Great comment!
I had to pause midway through this song because i couldn't handle how much i enjoyed it.
This man is infinite...is incredible the talent, two people can not believe
Two unlike?
they don't like the best songs
How beautiful !
Is Pauly at his finest. Linda thank you the inspiration for this album wherever you are.
Really quite a nice album. I recommend it.
I wonder if Linda cried when she first heard this? I would have. So sweet and beautiful.
If he was born a few centuries ago he would have been a great classical composer, isn' t it?
This album came out in 1997; this album has songs that are much greater than the Beatles' days.
You don't need to be born in the 50's or '97 to appreciate this music.
"Beatles worth?"
This is much better than the Beatles' days.
B T , Macca SOARED and still is after Beatles...the got restrictive solo, but he expanded....
George Martin actually scored the 14 piece ensemble on this track at Pauls request. And the type of wood instrument in the bridge is a oboe/cor anglais played by Roy Carter. great piece of music for sure.
Just a fab song I think I was born in the wrong decade would of loved to be born in the 50's or just while the Beatles were a band
I wish John Lennon was still allive to tell people that Paul McCartney isn't dead.
Strange statement, but I like it.
You don't need John to tell you that. McCartney's writing is not hard to spot. Clearly this was written by the master. Not some Paul replacement. The one thing that can't be imitated is Paul's very distinct writing style.
John said it in an interview. He said it would be impossible to keep Paul's death a secret. He couldn't do anything without the whole world knowing.
This has great strings and horns. Macca loves to dress up the music like that. Lennon seems to play things straight. Piano,Guitar,Bass,Drums. I like both. But this ios magic right here on the second bridge with that horn. Wish i knew what it was. I love all the beatle solo work equally which is why they were and will alwyas be the greatest band of all time!!
Lennon was fantastic... but he can't do this
He wrote Imagine, he can do this, but not any more so it turns out that you're right.
Agree completely :) My favourite solo Paul album and my two favourite songs from it :) 15 years today (well, yesterday as it is now after midnight here) since it was released...
the utopy of mankind
My God, I little bit closer and I´ll be in heaven!
At 3:20 is his most beautiful voice
Did he write this while knowing Linda was dying of cancer? This song is so beautiful..
its weird, but i listened to this album after linda had died and all the lyrics made sense
How lucky to live at the same time as a genius.
How ignorant some are to realize it.
How sad some won't appreciate him until he's gone..
How silly they are.
