Nigel Godrich tried to "get the best out of the music" by opening his ignorant non-Tug of War-owning mouth and what he got was the worst fucking album of Paul McCartney's career. When you're producing Paul McCartney, you better be George Martin or just push the buttons and shut your fucking mouth. "Unusually reflective and intimate-sounding" bullshit, like other artists who helped McCartney fans decide to be McCartney fans in the first place, to avoid that depressing garbage.

It might be one of those albums that you listen to in a few years and realise just how great it is!

Question - if McCartney wrote this why is it hidden away on the Japanese version? Am I missing something, feels very underrated

Paul isn't the best judge of his own work some of the tracks that ended up as bonus tracks,B sides and even unreleased were better than those that ended up on albums. There are so many hidden gems like this. It's well worth digging around to see what is out there

Yes, feels more honest and vulnerable. Like he's truly being himself and not hiding behind a mask or facade.

1:55 wonderful modulation from C to E. He always had a knack for using modulation in an unexpected way. Some of his best songs, like Penny Lane, use it.

Apologies to "Band On The Run", but this is my favorite McCartney album. Godrich's contribution can not be underestimated.

This album is a true masterpiece from beginning to end. Criminally overlooked.

The instrumentation on chaos was so organic and godrich brought magic out of him again.

Paul has been producing magic since Flaming Pie. Well, since always, but in whole albums agains since Flaming Pie. It was not Godrich's doing, as much as I love this album and Godrich's production in it.

Crisstti I think his work has been quite strong since 1989 when he released Flowers In The Dirt forward to present day.
