McCartney, Paul - Flaming Pie Lyrics

Making love underneath the bed
Shooting stars from a purple sky
I don't care how I do it
I'm the man on the flaming pie

Stick my tongue out and lick my nose
Tuck my shirt in and zip my fly
Go ahead, have a vision
I'm the man on the flaming pie

Everything I do has a simple explanation
When I'm with you, you could do with a vacation
I took my brains out and stretched 'em on a rack
Now I'm not so sure I'm ever gonna get 'em back

Cut my toes off to spite my feet
I don't know whether to laugh or cry
Never mind, check my rhythm
I'm the man on the flaming pie

I'm the man on the flaming pie
Everything I do has a simple explanation
When I'm with you, you could do with a vacation
I took my brains out and stretched on a rack
Now I'm not so sure I'm ever gonna get em back

  7. G.... C....

He could still sing in this album that's for sure

    G.... C....

Gianni Cavallo , age and singing songs of extraordinary range and styles for decades and finally age in recent years got his voice in the end

  8. A.... R....

    more Paul junk

  9. S.... D....

It's like he's imitating John's style on the backing vocals...

    S.... D....

Nice touch -- they always came back to the songs they were singing.

  10. b.... ....

With the release of Egypt Station and it becoming Paul's first US number 1 album in a long time, I am revisiting his past albums and am planning on buying all the albums that I don't have yet. Flaming Pie is one of the albums that I own and one of my personal favorites. Right on the heels of the Beatles Anthology, Paul immersed himself in writing and recording this magnificent collection of songs. This song along with Young Boy, Somedays, Little Willow, Beautiful Night, and Great Day are among his best solo work.

    b.... ....

bleep77 , I decided to immerse myself in Paul solo youtube, and had two decades of his solo and some later solo stuff of his, which is a VAST and swooping array of esoteric grnres

  11. c.... w....

Great song! Story of The Beatles. Paul John George Ringo FOREVER! But really, we can now clearly see that Paul was the magic glue that held it all together.

    c.... w....

char west m yep he was backbone of group, greatly resented by others by very end but dragged out those final later albeit from them.

  12. D.... O....

Pauls best solo work Band on the Run (obviously) , Ram , Chaos and Creation and Flaming Pie . Flaming Pie was influenced by the Beatles Anthology project going on at the same time as many of the songs being written, This song is heavily influenced by nostalgia with references to how Paul and John used to retreat to forthlin Road and write songs whilst Pauls dad was at work and Paul and John bunked off School and Art College

    D.... O....

His name is Billy Shepherd he's not McCartney he replace him.

  13. L.... L....

thank you. God for giving us paul

  14. K.... K....

You people are halfway right the songs we were singing is the best song ever written and sung just like Paul's others no different nothing more nothing less.

  15. D.... O....

the song is about him and John when they were teenagers Paul would bunk off school John Art College and go to Pauls house in Forthlin Road Liverpool and write songs , Smoke a pipe is a reference to smoking tea leaves in a pipe I think

    D.... O....

    You,think..?..Lol

  16. A.... S....

    All his " yesterday's ".

  17. J.... M....

Paul eres único.  a musical mind

  18. P.... J....

  22. w.... ....

I think this is my favourite Macca album ( I was 12 when it came out and I remember it perfectly)

    w.... ....

    your an idiot

    w.... ....

No, you are. Cause only an idiot would call someone an idiot for expressing their opinion on art. Either that or you're a pompous idiot. Your choice.

    w.... ....

I think you mean "YOU ARE" also spelled as "YOU'RE" and nothing like you did. Gee, only an idiot would get that wrong.

    w.... ....

    You must be 51?

    w.... ....

Steve Steve , well, everyone has DIFFERENT favorites....

  23. T.... ....

Never heard this song until now and I like it.

  24. M.... N....

This is one of his best later cds.

    M.... N....

One of his Best solo album ever

    M.... N....

    True that

  25. m.... ....

    I love this song...

  26. J.... D....

Good sense and culture knowledge is something that is missing, more and more... is vanishing.

    J.... D....

    John Dickinson , top comment...true

  27. H.... ....

Agreed about that. It's a pity they didn't write music together, being two of the biggest musical geniuses the world has provided.

    H.... ....

Helmut83 Paul tried to get John going again but ...

And it was John who disengaged and I know why ...

He was done, became Yoko's butler, but Paul still had 100 songs in him.

    H.... ....

    @La Co, exactly.

    H.... ....

"It's a pity they didn't write music together..." What are you talking about? They wrote lots of music together from the beginning to the end. And sure, as they got older they each wrote more and more "own" songs, but they always worked together. To claim that they didn't "write music together" is just over the top and quite wrong. And the hyperbole of "two of the biggest musical geniuses the world has provided'' is pretty excessive. I LOOOOVE The Beatles and always will, but that's just too much. Beatles 4 Ever!

    H.... ....

La Co , that is correct....John admission in mud sixty how lazy he was and slept all of the time.....it was easier for him to ridiculousness Paul songs in seventh but hard to do stuff yourselves.

    H.... ....

Mabusha Masekela , welp.....some of sentimental over em

  28. B.... ....

    this stellar beauty is killing...

  29. m.... ....

    My hero.
I'm in love with this man.
    Seriously.

  30. L.... ....

There shouldn't be a dislike bar

  31. a.... ....

Looks like 2 people don't like "the song he is singing" but I sure as hell do!

  32. M.... ....

@judasackiss why would anyone dislike macca?

    M.... ....

MrRocked123 , MANY RIGHT WING BEATLES FAKES, PAUL IS DEAD conspiracies kooks online, many sites HATE them as representing sixties, liberalism.

  33. M.... ....

    J.... M....

James Malinowski , so glad to hear you millennials like Macca...I see an insane number of Paul is dead tinfoilers trolling him on almost all his YouTubes....Macca himself had a millennial kid, his youngest, Beatrice. Macca music the most genre variety
