Not necessarily better. Star Wars is full of instances where tech gets lost, or materials are hard to find. For example: Cortosis-weave is not uncommon in the Old Republic era but is pretty much unheard of come Rebellion era. It's one of the things I like about the Star Wars universe, older can sometimes mean better.

during the period were the imperials were trying to defend the 2nd death star from the alliance ig-88 uploaded his memory and personality into a piece of equipment being installed into the death stars core but luckily for the galaxy ( he would've destroyed the galaxy) the alliance had blown it up before it was uploaded completely.

@senorfrog8 because IG-88 was built in a factory, and the makers were making 5 assassain droids, the other one is a clone, including 2 others, the last one is ig-72 i think, he went his own way.
