This song to me sounds like the love child of Marvin Gaye's I Want You and Michael Jackson's Off the Wall. If I got it right, it uses the same guitarist Jackson used on Get on the Floor on Off the Wall, Wah Wah Watson who also performed on Gaye's Let's Get It On album. Leon Ware, who was a major presence on Gaye's I Want You, co-wrote Ascension (Don't Ever Wander), the track that preceeds this one as well.
