I went to see this for a school trip and the main guy was the understudy of an understudy and I find him better than the original guy. Not to mention his accent was better.

I went and saw Finding Neverland on a school trip yesterday with my Vocal Ensemble and we did a workshop and learned this song and the dance. It was truthfully the most fun thing ever and the show is breathtaking. I really really recommend seeing it if you ever have the opportunity. It's so amazing.

There's really nothing wrong with the cast themselves. The audio is very bad, so it's GMA's fault. Also, do you know how hard it is to sing at 7:00am and wake up at like 3 or 4:00 am?

i feel like wgat they probably did is go with the stereotypical Scottish accent in America so that people watching the show would know it's meant to be a Scottish accent? idk it's just a guess and I'm probabky 100% wrong he probably just wasn't coached enough on the accent

I've been in some musical theatre recently and wow, you don't realise how much work goes into every musical, it's amazing each song has atleast 100 rehearsals if not more and some take 7 months of preparation

Yeah.. I've been an actor all my life and even a Broadway show does not take 7 months to stage. Writing it, maybe, but even that is pushing it. The longest rehearsal process I've ever been in was 4 months, but that was with maybe two-three rehearsals a week. For a Broadway production when you're rehearing nearly every day, it would be even less than that. Yes, putting on a great show takes a tremendous amount of work but not quite that long of a time.

I loved this show! I waited at the stage door and met Matt Morrison and all the kids! They were all so nice and were willing to take pictures. We saw them again at The Illusionists the next day and congradulated them again. Really great show!

I had a listen to Matilda's "Revolting Children" as suggested by one of the theater snobs here and it was...er...revolting. If that's what a real theater score is supposed to sound like then give me Gary and Eliot's pop masterpieces any time. At least I could bear and listen for more than 1 minute of their songs.

He is kind of doing a scottish accent. They have kept it in, its difficult to sing with an accent though. If you listen carefully you can sometimes hear him rollings his Rs to sound more scottish.

Love that they got a real dog for Broadway.  When I saw the Pre-Broadway run in Cambridge they had a guy playing the role which was kind of corny.

critics should go and see this play live.. it is amazing. And kids love it, critics obviously do not believe... they grew up... Amazing cast, amazing songs, amazing stage play.

+ctn04132 Uh? Matilda gets rave reviews and the music for it is plain awful. I tend to take what theater snobs say with a grain of salt. Their opinion's don't tend to jive with the general viewing audience.

+lankeysob Matilda's lyrics and score were Tony nominated and was frontrunners with Kinky Boots in most of the big categories. Tim Minchin's lyrics and music for "When I grow up" "Naughty" and "Revolting children" are more thought provoking and clever than anything Finding Neverland could ever dream up. It got shut out at the Tony's and deservedly so.

the show had a very choppy storyline and there was no huge climax in the show so I can see where critics wouldn't enjoy it as much as fun home (best musical winner 2015)

Finding Neverland is one of my favorite films, and it has one of the most gorgeous scores there is memory of. So I am very disappointed with this, very uninspiring and plastic.

Tony nominations committee this year made so many errors. If there are more than four good actors, shows, etc., then nominate more than four. Heaven knows there were years when nothing was good and they still nominated four.
This show should have gotten many nominations including one for best musical. It was  amazing and a pleasure.

@amberfirexx9 Agree with capscoach, it's more clear in the full performance. If I remember correctly, the bear comes out exactly where the dog exited.

I think the whole point of them bringing out a bear was to show it as how you would see it if you used imagination like they did when they lifted the people up, i would recommend watching the movie to understand

Why couldn't they get the full orchestra as a backing track... this sounds so thin compared to what it is actually like on Broadway.  This does not do the show justice

@Kevin Falk A show that is not nominated would not normally be invited...except maybe the opening number, but even that might not happen...such a shame seeing as Broadway is struggling and the Tony's act as a giant commercial...not having Morrison perform will hurt their viewership...bad economic decision on the Tony's part

Yeah but I heard Finding Neverland wants no part of the tonys and Is not giving free tickets for critics anymore as revenge. Dr. Zhivago is also doing this It's pretty crazy but Its hard to believe Its happening

Mr. Morrison's accent is so bad, it took me the first minute of the song to figure out what he was trying to do.  hahahaha.  The music is very Matilda sounding.  Doesn't really interest me, but thanks for posting!

@Arie G J.M Barrie was sottish, so thats the accent he is doing, the Matilda accent is at the audiences best interest as they complained it was difficult to understand

When the show was in previews, Matt sang in his normal voice. Critics starting mentioning that it was strange to have him talk with an Scot accent and sing with an American one. So now we have this. I give him credit cause it's hard to add an accent to your voice as you sing when it's not naturally yours.

This is what Ive been wanting on broadway all year a memorable music with amazing music and great actors. This has been a very subpar year and this just fixed all of it this better win all the tonys!! If the rest of the show Is as good as this song this will be the musical of the year!!

+andreas pablo Its a matter of personal taste,I suppose:) Everything you didnt like I absolutely loved,lol. & the passion in the story telling for a plot that is so simplistic is a big reason why I adore this story. Its cool to have differing opinions,though. If u arent into this play,that's alright. There are plenty more good ones to love this season. & that can just leave more Finding Neverland for me,lol!!
