Matthew Morrison - All Of London Is Here Tonight Lyrics

[Ensemble:]
Anyone, anyone
Anyone who's anyone is here
Anyone, anyone
Anyone who's anyone is here

[Charles (ensemble):]
From London's West End
To the Great White Way
I've discovered the best playwrights working today
You were wild about Oscar
So I gave you more
I supported Bernard
When no one was sure

May I make a toast
To a man that never boasts
He's prolific and reliable, his style's undeniable
I trust you were impressed (yes!)
With his play, "The Wedding Guest" (yes, yes!)
So raise your glasses with me (raise, glass)
The one and only, J.M. Barrie! (with, me!)

[Ensemble:]
What a show
What a night
How your worst delight!
Raise your glass
Raise your voice and cheer (all of London is here!)
And a toast
To his wife
And their perfect life!
Happy to be, happy to be here!

[J.M. Barrie:]
Just listen to those cheers
Even though I haven't had a new idea in years
I need to find the spark inside
To lead me somewhere new
If I could somehow turn this all around
I'd turn my whole world upside down!

[Mary:]
James, are you feeling alright?
Get yourself together, all of London's here tonight!
Try at least to be the man who's worthy of his fame
Tonight we're here to celebrate it all
Let's drink champagne!

[Charles:]
J.M. Barrie!

[J.M. Barrie (ensemble):]
Is this all I am?
(What a show, what a night, how your worst delight!)
Have I given this all I can give?
(Raise your glass and cheer! And a toast to his wife and their perfect life!)
Is this the life I'm meant to live?
(All of London is)
Is this all I am?
(Anyone, anyone, anyone, anyone)
Is this all I am?
(Anyone, anyone, anyone who's anyone is)

[All:]
Here!

    I love the wife's part

I loved the original broadway version with Matthew Morrison. It was like an adult fairytale, or at least a fairytale for the adults and the inner imaginative child within all of us. It was dark and magical. The tour version however.... They changed it to be more broad in some areas and lost the pathos that made me understand the character of JM Barry IMO.
