Matthew Good - Champions Of Nothing Lyrics
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
When the bar stars melt and their golden hair turns into glass
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
When the bubble bursts and the first are come for by the last
There's something in the way you move
There's something in your "too cool for school"
When you slide up and down my pole
There's something in the way you look
That only casts a shadow
When Hollywood runs out of Indians
Only the Indians will know
A kick in the head, pass it around
Begging for a bed, pass it around
Pass it around
And I'd say what you'd say
It makes me feel nothing
There's a car waiting to take me to something
At the end of my rope there's
A new world, it's snowing
The globe it starts shaking
Is it me not worth knowing?
The white coats are melting
The snow down our mountains
To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains
And I'd say what you'd say
But it makes me feel nothing
Til there's a man waiting to take me to something
That I'm for
Hell
It looks red in all it's pictures
My sisters sing laments
While their skin blisters
(take your time, take your time, take your time)
Halleluiahs
Offered down on the floor
Nobody goes above decks
No, not no more
They say the sun is still shining
That you can feel it in your core
But I ain't seen nobody move
That weren't going for the door
And I'd say what you'd say
Champions of nothing
But there's a car waiting to take me to something
At the end of my rope
There's a new world, it's glowing
The globe it starts shaking
Was it you not worth knowing?
The white coats are melting
The snow down our mountains
To process the rivers for hallways, and fountains
And I'd say what you'd say
But it makes me feel nothing
Til there's a man waiting to take me something
That I'm for...

Hospital Music from start to finish is as much of a masterpiece as MGB's Underdogs and Beautiful Midnight. This jam and the whole album takes me back to sunny Jamaica in 2007.. miss that time.
Love is a strong word !

Just hit 38yo in january 2019 !
Still ok with those digits, I don't really care about it after all, it's how you truly feel inside that count.
So this being said, lets move one to my point:
My point is, that in all my a life, I've been listening to many different bands and styles of music, but this very song just KO'ed me. I feel like I was waiting for this song since my dad past away in 2002.
If somehow this song could have played back then, I'm pretty sure it would have helped me go trough my grief instead of fighting it and fall into a drug induced downward spiral that took me 10 years clear of my life to overcome.
I don't account this time lost as a failure, but I surely remember this period like the closest thing to hell on earth !
Peace everyone !
Mental sickness is real, so please ask for help if this message shakes you !
What a wonderful song I can listen over and over
P Skidmore
In some kind of way this song helps me to heal myself and suits my anxiety momentarily!
Thanks MGB for being real and show your inner struggles in your songs!
Good night!
Seeing him doing a solo acoustic performance on March 13th.... I’m already SOOOO EXCITED 😁😁
And he did this song, how appropriate
Damn I feel this song so deeply... it makes me cry every time. Amazing Matt.
this songs about hitch hiking
I once asked a friend of mine to share with me the most depressing song he'd ever heard. He sent me this. & sharing this song saved us both.
Hypnotic
ive been waiting a longtime for this album to get bk on youtube.thx a mill to the person who uploaded.for reals
Moving song, Pass it around!
iam four
Wow he is just brilliant. This song moves me to my core!
Rare, awesome, song
how is it rare? its the opening track for hospital music., as for awesome, i completely agree. its even better live though.
Does anyone know what they say in the beginning ??
it's saying i hate you maybe love is a strong word in reverse
This might be favourite song. Ever.
Mine too
hi from Brazil . I love this man... Matthew music are treasures to me
Anyone know where he got the introduction from ."Love is a strong word"? Is is a audio clip from a movie ?
Were those interviews not for the album titled "Vancouver"?
@Rob Weeks Not entirely, Girl Wedged Under the Front of a Firebird contains samples from an interview with a homeless person who's daughter was run over by a car, if I recall correctly.
Mogwai a long way from home I think
Thanks Thein.. that seems about right.. very close listening to it
I think it is, not 100% sure. He may have got them from homeless people in Vancouver B.C.
I don't think MG cares if his audience is large or growing or shrinking. He'd make music no matter what... because he knows how helpful it has been to his own well being. He's got a strong fan base. I've seen him live 14 times and it's always awesome.
Right on. I get that vibe too. Brilliant artist.
14 shows wow that's 14 days of awesome for sure
I have been to his concerts and almost met him trust me he craves the crowd
I have never listened to anything front to back so many times in my life...if I had it on Vinyl, there wouldn't be anything left to it.
How tragically overlooked Good is! Beautiful song, shame more people don't know it.
@Hanneli Seirrah It is a shame, Matthew Good is such a talented musician, yet outside of Canada very few people seem to have heard of him. I've been thinking about becoming more active uploading music to YouTube because I'd like to share more music from artists that should be more widely known, so if you or anyone else has any suggestions I'd be happy to check them out.
+ThePoodlenoodler Tommy Bolin
we, the netherlands, have heard of him ;)
My favorite songs are Apparitions, Indestructible, Suburbia, Lullaby New World Order, and now this one.
one of the most underrated artists of all time but I think Matt likes it that way
great song, thx for uploading
This gets 2 thousands views and gangnam style gets 2 billion. /facepalm
@Jaxson Jillix It's getting there... slowly
That's why this song is awesome. If it got played 2 billion times it wouldn't have the same impact.
And I'd say what you'd say
But it makes me feel nothing
There's a car waiting
To take me to something

We unfortunately are living in a very sick world!
😳😢🤬😡
two thousand intelligent people.
this guy is great, almost completely overlooked in the United States
@Kevin C it's sad that in 2015 he's almost completely overlooked in Canada now too :-/
+Hallucination he's not overlooked in New Zealand, by me...
funny...this is what happens to canadian music...
This song is powerful in so many ways. I absolutely love this.
This song is so... I dont know... real... in a absolutely depressing kind of way. I love songs like that
