Food for the journey! Jesus knows the walk each of us must go, He wants to insure we have what we need to make it. Do we rely upon Jesus and receive the bread of life that satisfies? Are we preparing ourselves to receive Him this Advent season. When was the last time you sat down with Jesus and had a heart to heart. Told Him what was going on, confessed what is ailing you and removed the darkness in your life. Confessions is good for the soul, it brings light back into your world. As a Catholic, I have this opportunity, to receive sanctifying grace. The Sacraments are gifts from Heaven, listen to your soul and partake in His saving grace and come back. We all need food for the journey.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am blessed to be able to participate in Your divine life. To be able to come to You and find rest in You, to receive what You know I need. The noise try’s to keep You away, but in You I find peace. You satisfy my hunger. Thank You for the stories, it brings joy to my heart to know that others are finding true happiness in You and Your Holy Family. Bless this day Lord God, watch over our efforts and bless us with peace. In Jesus name, Amen.

Lenny Buttz L the fact that you went out of your way to criticize Matt ( proclaiming that he made this song "because he thinks he is special or something") and others that change a song and expect no feed back and scream " It's my opinion" when someone challenges you is absurd. People have the right to complain about others complaining.

What is important is that this songs and other songs that change tradition are still true to the core. Jesus has come to save.

Was Martin Luther pretentious for putting Christian lyrics over the bar tunes of his day, instead of leaving them alone as written? Should we be careful to only sing or perform his songs in the original German as written or 'as intended'?

Your argument is basically that other people shouldn't modernize music (even if as ministry to the current culture) at the risk of offending people who are stuck in their own musical tastes developed in their own childhood experiences. You're upset that when people make old music new again it makes it harder for YOU to find what YOU like.

I'm guessing you're a real treat to take around to places like Golden Corral... where you have to peruse through aisles worth of 'worthless' food prepared according to the tastes of the modern majority, which I'm sure makes it difficult for YOU to find YOUR favorite dish the way YOUR mom used to make it.

I can almost hear you fuming from your table about 'those pretentious cooks' who dare to tamper with time-honored recipes. Meanwhile, it would appear the nutritional value of what was prepared and served with great care (made available to all and appreciated by many) completely escapes your notice.

With respect, I wholeheartedly disagree. I (and many, many others) are moved by this stirring rearrangement. In my opinion new life has been brought to the original song through this recording. "totally ruining a good song"? I think not. This is a new song. A different song. And God is alive and clearly at work through the creative improvisations he took.

Do you hear Jesus calling You? The trappings of this world can lead us astray into areas we never dreamed we would go, yet God calls and we are to follow. He knows the way forward, He has already paid the price for our sins and we must be purified to seek His Holy will for our lives. I examine myself this morning and ponder my actions, am I listening, are my actions of Him. We too can take our place in Heaven but we must become good followers of the Son of God. Listen to Him and let Him guide you into eternity.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am listening being carried into Your heart. It isn’t easy to know the way forward, I see the snares of the devil and the victims being trapped. I trust in You this day, I pray for those lost in the darkness may I help in whatever way You ask. Thank You for the continued purification, I am thankful they are plain and simple steps.
