I heard this on the radio a few years ago and it brought me to tears. It's such a beautiful song, and the sad lyrics make it that much better. Sad to say though, I haven't heard it on the radio any Christmas since. I bet it's because it's not happy haha

This song is so beautiful. I am trying to search for my father from Norway. He was a Norwegian sailor. When he met my mom in corner brook Newfoundland he stayed for 6 months, then immigration took him away. My mom had me and I was put into a foster home then adopted out to Ontario people. This song reminds me that anything is possible and there is always hope that we will meet someday. Always praying.

My sister came across this song and video a few yrs ago after asking our Dad to send us a sign that he was with us that Christmas. Everything in the video speaks of my Dad and as if he's speaking to us. We are kids of the 70s and the video just hit all our childhood memories spot on. The stocking even says "Daddy". We watch it every year and cry....

I saw the clips while he was recording this.  Jim Brickman, the pianist face lit up and the expression on his face was so fascinating. He was awed by Johnny's performance.  It is so impressive how Johnny's has not changed after so many years of performing. He is one of a kind, truly a legend. He actually brought tears to my nice while watching him record this particular song. He gets into my inner soul. I love Johnny and forever.

John sang "Sending You A LIttle Christmas" this past Friday night at his Christmas Concert in Cerritos, California. He had tears in his eyes, as did many people in his audience. It is sad song, but yet a very lovely song too. It was grand to see him sing it in person.

Nobody sings like Johnny! Could have heard him in person at University of Alabama when I was a Freshman, 1960, but I didn't have the $5.00!

we made a video of this song for the children we met last year but we not allowed to adopt due to the Russian Adoption Ban. Our hearts ache to hold these children again and we are so sad that they still live in orphanages instead of being home with us for Christmas. 

I keep praying and hoping that, someday, very, very soon, no child will be without a place to call home. In my heart-of-hearts,I believe The Christ of Christmas will bring about that unimaginably-better day. A peaceful, hopeful and joyful CHRISTmas 2013 to you and yours.

"Fall into these arms of mine, where you belong" -- I'd like think those lyrics are for me at Christmas 2013 from  My Heavenly- Resplendent Wife, My Barbra Rose (in Christ's Glorious Realm). We had only two years together before cancer stole away My Barbra Rose. I knew Barb was in remission when we met in Nov. 2008. It didn't make any difference - none at all. Barb was (and remains) my matchless gem from Christ's crown. I'd marry Barb all over again -- I have absolutely no regrets. This song this year was ever so much more poignant, after the loss of my mother-in-law October 8, 2013 and my dad December 13, 2005. First time I listened to this it's as if they were singing it to me and DH!! Now I'm sending to my own mom, who lives 360 miles away with my 2 sisters... I love Johnny! I have all his Christmas CDs, in fact- I can't seem to decorate our tree without him singing to me. I'm so excited over his new CD. And this song? Wow. It's so perfect for him. 

Around our home, it isn't Christmas until Johnny Mathis sings.  It starts when we decorate the tree and make home made cookies.  The first thing I thought of when hearing I'm Sending You a Little Christmas was all our soldiers serving our country throughout the world.  

Great job!  I just bought the whole album and it too is called "Sending You a Little Christmas." (10.99 on iTunes).  Loved watching Johnny at an outdoor concert once and he just stood there in this gorgeous tux with his eyes shut and blew the minds of all of us.  Such a national treasure!  Last night I put this song to a home video for my daughter who will be gone for Christmas (on her Honeymoon!).  Thanks for making!!!!  Merry Christmas!!!!!

I was baking and had iheart radio on, when i first heard this song. The words touched me so deeply, as my son is in the military, and wont be home for Christmas this year.

I am a Jim fan and went to his Christmas concerts for several years and he debuted this song with Kristy Starling singing it in concert and it was so beautiful. His video of it showed servicemen. I had a cousin in service and one Christmas I sent him a gift package of the items in the song. If you have not heard the original version by Kristy you should. I love the emotion she puts into it.

I listen to Sirus/XM radio during my sleep. This song woke me up one night and I thought it was one of the most beautiful Christmas songs I have ever heard. Though the lyrics are a little sad, the music is so smooth. And Johnny does such a very nice job with this song. I'm glad I found it on youtube so that I can listen to it anytime I want.

Jim Brickman wrote it and debuted it in his Christmas concert which I happened to see with Kristy Starling singing it. Look for that version as well. Both are great.

Caught this song on the radio, damn near made me cry.

The first videos that come up for this song feature a more "poppy" sounding version of this song by some younger lady singer, and it's got nothing on this Mathis guy's version. The quiver in his voice gives it such an innocent, old-timey subtlety worthy of heading a classic Christmas movie.

Not knocking the other lady, but this one is just... better.

JJMDude the reason this Mathis' dude has such an old time innocent quiver is because he is all of that. His first Christmas album was released in 1968 and he's only gotten better with age. I am pleased that he is finding new listeners!
