I've loved the voice of Johnny Mathis since I heard his first song, when I was a young teen. I've got all his albums and for me he's one of the greatest male singers of all time. I never tire of listening to him. His love songs can rip my heart out of my chest and bring tears to my eyes. Barry Manilow has the same effect on me. Guess I'm just a hopeless romantic!

I saw him live in Chicago in 1976 and I swooned. He is a great flatterer and I sucked it all up. My husband was glad for me to be so moved by this crooners voice and presence. We went back stage and it was great to see him close.

This is my lucky night and I am so happy to have "stumbled" on two beautiful compositions sung by the incomparable and unique Mr. Johnny Mathis: "One Love" and "When the Lovin' Goes out of the Lovin' ". Mr. Johnny Mathis would undoubtedly have been knighted if he were British. What a gifted, sensitive and gentle artist he is. I can only express myself in superlatives when I refer to him. considering that according to the Washington Post they are going from ART to Pop Culture. Take a look at this years list. I think it is being turned into just another award show. They are trying to the the young people to watch.

Go figure...great talent is often ignored when there are "supposed" social issues. No one can take away his talent, greatness, spirit and longevity.....
