Mathis, Johnny - I Married An Angel Lyrics

Have you heard, I married an angel
I'm sure that the change'll be awfully good for me
Have you heard, an angel I married
To heaven's she's carried this fellow with a kiss

She is sweet and gentle, so it isn't strange
When I'm sentimental, she loves me like an angel
Now you've heard, I married an angel
This beautiful change'll be awfully good for me

Now you've heard, I married an angel
This beautiful change'll be awfully good for me

Mathis, Johnny I Married An Angel Comments
  1. B.... I....

    Recorded on April 7, 1960.

  2. A.... S....

I would have loved to be your Angel. Beautiful song.

  3. A.... G....

Rodgers and Hart wrote this song to be uptempo and celebratory, trumpeting love. Sung at the proper speed, it's always been one of my favorite songs, but this strikes me as dreary.  There are already too many slow love songs.

  4. N.... B....

There is another video of this song. Just type in:

Johnny Mathis. I Married an Angel

Use a period instead of a hypen.

  5. I.... ....

    Simply beautiful!

Can someone put this up from an LP that is not scratched. It is one of my favorite albums!

  7. V.... M....

My wife of 44 years 10 months passed away while I was holding her hand and listening to Johnny sing this song.
