Mastodon - Diamond In The Witch House Lyrics
Wide is the line
separates the rivers from the dirt
all the while I wonder who's the one
Within the one and only eye
self-blinded to see through the veil
Can you see there's a child
standing idle by us in this mess
who am I to cause this emptiness
Willing the sea to cleanse my soul
of all that I've been
to bring me free to this clarity
as the tides, they twist and make the turn
pain subsides
and sweeps across the earth again
Willing the sea to cleanse my soul
of all that I've been
to bring me free to this clarity
Within the one and only eye
we all stood cut free
self-blinded to see through the veil
I'm standing deep in these waters
bleeding free and bent
to drag us onto the new visions
only loss fills my void
Only the void connects me
with these mountains
of dust, blood and soil
the stones born in the flames of truth
demand a sacrifice
Don't just bleed us and leave us to ourselves
we will return so deeply harmed
and we will shatter you

Mastodon Diamond In The Witch House Comments
5:54 squat bar starts bending on my back.
Haven't read the lyrics, I'm just gonna pretend it's about the Salem Witch House
Maybe not so much fun as other Matodon songs, but one word : "perfection" sums it up.
Does 5:10 on a little bit not remind anyone of Shining?
So who ever said it was underrated?
Sounds like neurosis
ugh. scott kelly ruins this
Incredible song. One of their best. If Brann could cool down the Bongo Fever somewhat it could be even better......
one of my all time favorites
wur rroaar wrummblue mumble!! wurrrr wrorrr wroa wroh hurr??? woaarrkrie wokree worr worrr waaarrrrgg
If that's what you're getting from this. Then leave not you're music.
I was introduced to Neurosis round the time I was into Doom Metal. Was hooked. But then I got into other music and forgot it. Mastodon gave me a second chance. This song is both Mastodon and Neurosis. One of the pinnacles of the first, along with the Crack the Skye album.
“There is no vocalist more epic sounding than Scott Kelly”
Troy Sanders @ 1:25 “hold my beer”
Most underrated mastodon song ever? Insanely amazing hauting instrumentals and master and aprentice on the vocals killing it
Dammmn such a cool song...goddamnit.
My God!!! They are so good!!!
I thought it was Scott Kelly I didn't think this was Troy. Fucking incredible music.especially on acid
beautiful intro....ok....jumped up to top 5 mastodon songs....so killer....
Best mastodon track ever
4 people have musical aids.
Br's ??
Esta canción me hace.. dios.. moverme como loca🔥 es brutal!!!
This has developed to be my favorite Mastodon track. It could actually be a Neurosis song, the outro gives me chills
Im only here for Kelly
.. and you stayed for Mastodon
I think it's their darkest song
This song live with Scott playing guitar as well was a fucking epiphany. The album version doesn't come close to the power those three guitars with his vocals had during the last part of this song.
Agree with you 100%. I saw this live with Scott in Berlin last week, was amazing.
heard it live few days ago and can't agree more
so fucking immersive
its got 4 dislikes >:(
What an awesome song
Sounds like a great YOB song...
1:48 - 2:09 the main riff of Black Tongue
Pretty soon they'll be able to put out an entire album with just Scott Kelly songs.
Scott Kelly, people. Scott Kelly. It's like the dudes possessed by
more than one spirit.
I think this song is underrated because it's on OMRTS and not an album like Leviathan. Incredible written.
This is too high level compared to leviathan imho...in every aspect
It honestly sounds like is could be a Leviathan bonus track.
I agree that it's underrated....Leviathan bonus track no way...I agree with Daniel, Dr Toboggan
OMRTS is a great album though. It's become one of my favorite from Mastodon.
This whole album has such variety to it but man this track is so damn visceral and gritty. Very Leviathan-esque. Such an epic ending to an epic album.
a rocky song, Brann is just so perfect, as always :-)
damnit it sucks they don't play this live. it would make a killer performance.
mastodon solo hace discos excelentes!
Best track on this album.
Crushy Melbeck most definitely
A dislike? The person that disliked deserve to be eviscerated with an iron tusk.
i can't explain when i'm listening to this this especially the last part >> nice song \m/
5:09 -> 5:52 This part is fucking perfect! ♥
why this song make me cry?
+QuietHeart89 Maybe because it's so good?
Scott Kelly's voice projects so much emotion, it's hard to not feel.
it made made me cry the first dozen times id listen to it ....its a powerful song...it reminds me of the sudden destruction of the world..middle of the song perfectly leads up to the hellfire and chaos ending.
Mastodon is so good. It's a shame I cannot find their older albuns in some stores
+Guilherme Theodoro Look online
The first time I heard this song, I thought I had somehow switched to Neurosis. This is the best song they have done with Scott Kelly.
this could easily fit on leviathan!
@The Memorgia True!
+The Memorgia It really could.
Agreed.
If this song was on Crack the Skye, it would become so heavy it would start trapping light.
I disagree, this song is much more blood mountain-y. Infact, the songs verse is exactly like the Sleeping Giant.
One of my favourite tracks of all time, I was just listening to this while reading about the murder of Shanda Sharer and got creeped out because the lyrics almost relate to it.
Great end for a great album....
There'll never be a thumbs down for this. ....ever.....not for mastodon
0 dislikes.
Only fans.
True epicness.
Amen.
+Imm0skyl I just disliked it.
@***** yes sir.
THIS IS BRUTAL!!!
This song always feels like it's 2mins long.. So Good.. MASTODON!
Through Silver in Mastodon
this is so fkn Neurosis! darker and heavier than heaviest darkness.
Thought I was listening to Neurosis for a minute :-)
This song has been stuck in my head for 3 weeks. Such great rifts.
The ending is surprising beautiful

In case you missed it, I published the lyrics in the description.
@wowla1 oh sorry, they weren't showing when i posted for some reason
This song runs deep and intense...
Check out "Ants invasion " by Adam and the ants. The guitar intro.
I hear a lot of Neurosis influence in this song and not just because Scott Kelly is in it. The guitars and drums in some parts sound like something off Souls at Zero. Perfect way to end a perfect album.
For me this sounds more like a Neurosis song than a Mastodon song
Actually saw this live tonight (3:30 am as I write this) with Scott on stage playing guitar. It was the last song of the set and the three guitars just building a giant wall of sound with his incredibly powerful voice had me completely in awe. this song really seems to be the two bands becoming one stylistically for a few brief moments.
Its the prog in it
yes it's very souls at zero....love it...nuerastadon
spurqz has
Senti falta do Mastodon terminar o álbum com uma faixa numa vibe mais psicodélica/prog, mas essa música é fodástica. As participações de Scott Kelly nos álbuns deles são sempre assombrosas, mas essa foi a melhor.
It's too bad they just can't bring in Scott Kelly as a full time member... this track rocks!! Creepy. Nice leads. Good shit.
Diamonds in the Witch House
Chimes at Midnight
Asleep in the Deep
Ember City... best tracks on the new album...
Yeah, Scott doing great. I really like the entire album as a whole, but to be more speicific.. My fav's are also Diamond, Chimes, Asleep in the deep and The Motherload.
@wowla1 Yes, Asleep in the Deep has that nice trippy 70s prog vibe. This album as a whole would have fit comfortably in the late 70s right next to Hemispheres and latter day Sabbath like the Sabotage era.
I think that every single track Scott has done with Mastodon are some of Mastodon's best.
+Chris Allen Stone 023 agree with this
Chris Allen Stone 023 Holy shit dude I see you on like every QOTSA video. And now here. You've got a good taste bro
Mastodons send up to Neurosis
