To be fair, their last full length was slightly underwhelming sort of the same as OMATS. But this is a fucking GEM. This EP takes me places, just like Crack the Skye. I hope their next release is more thoughtful like this.. Less Hunter more Skye

The fact that this band exists and I get to experience it makes me happy to be alive. No other music I have ever heard has resonated with me and influenced me so deeply. I don't know what higher praise a band could get.

I feel so lucky to have mastodon between the peaks of pop culture, where those older did classic rock and those younger did pop, that little period of people hitting their formative years around the 90s, before the broadband mainstream internet but after the cold War, we got so much niche that I wouldn't want to be mainstream. Our generation's Opeth, the whole of the genre a watershed.

I’m rooting real hard for these guys to become America’s next greatest band and supplant Metallica. They’re not quite there yet. They’ve got about 15% more to go. They need that one groundbreaking record. They’re damn close. And I don’t care if they have to get a little more commercial. All the great ones did, even Judas Priest.

I don't think they will release a record that groundbreaking this late in their career . That being said I feel like Crack the Skye was that record for me and after hearing this EP I think they are going in a great direction, but I just don't think the commercial breakthrough will happen , but I could b wrong.

But then they miss to play in the light of the midnightsun in the middle of the natural free River of Kalix in front of 5000-10000 hardrock peaple from Northbottom!😊
That could be a thing to miss for us and them!
Maybe if they take BTBAM or Goijra whith them to open up!

Great musicianship and writing, but most of the vocals feel really out of place, a little to slow and melancholy especially in the verses. Kinda follows the deftones formula of “ draw out every word as long as possible”

No one sounds like Mastodon. Which today is quite the statement. This EP was a nice unexpected gift. Thank you fellas.
