My mom passed away about 2 years ago, and my mind automatically replaces father with mother, and vica versa in this song. I miss her so much and wish I would have spent more time with her in my adult years.

Richard Marx has always had the talent to work in many genres. I wish he and Luther would have sung it together. Always been my favorite solo rock/pop star. I first learned about Richard Marx was in 1987 for Endless Summer Nights. Loved that song so much I bought the cassette. I was a kid then. I heard Right Here Waiting. I got on my keyboard and started playing it by ear. Even today, I am still a big fan of him.

I love your version of this song. I just saw you and Peter Cetera in concert at Thunder Valley in Lincoln this past Friday - 7/13. That's the first time I found out the history of this song and that you helped write it for Luther Vandross. I didn't think anyone could sing it better than Luther, but you do it justice too.
I really enjoyed the concert on Friday. I grew up listening to you & Chicago back in the 80's. It brought back some good childhood memories.
