Please fall in love with me? If you see any interviews with Beverly Martyn it wasn't a lot of fun to be in love with old Johnny too bad, and that's putting mildly, the man definitely had his demons. One of many time I saw him in Liverpool, can't remember the name of the venue but it was next to Kirklands, after the gig we were drinking in Kirklands and one of the girls in our group realised she had forgotten her bag next door so I went next door with her to look for her bag and John and Foster Paterson were at the bar (it was a hotel or something) John was roaring drunk making pretend googles with his hands like you do as a kid and he was running around the bar doing the dam busters music, lol.

I was 17 when i came across John Martyn im 62 and he is a UNIQUE GIANT IN MUSIC just Love him...

This guy wrote some BEAUTIFUL music. This seems to have been written when he was in a "nice" mood. Some or his other songs are VERY dark, but they STILL have an amazing quality about them. John, the world has been deprived of a TRULY MASTERFUL, world-class, musician and you WILL be missed by MANY people.

Lovely! That was the first John Martyn song I heard, three decades ago. Only heard from him again 15 years later when I rediscovered him by falling in love with Nick Drake. I like his 70's albums much, much better but "Glorious Fool" has a special place in my heart.
