Marty Robbins - When I'm Gone Lyrics
When I'm gone will you forget me
Will you find somebody new
When I'm gone will you forget me
Darlin', as you often do
Will you look for someone new
Will some other arms enfold you
Just the way mine used to do
Will there be no memory of me
Or the first day when we met
When I'm gone will you remember
Or when I'm gone will you forget

Marty Robbins When I'm Gone Comments
You will always be remembered
36.7 years since you left this world on earth & I still haven't forgotten you, you are still my favourite singer of all time ever since I was 15 that's 64 years. Have to say thanks for the hours & hours of entertainment, I have enjoyed every moment.
Love love him what a voice.so handsome to.🌹
Beautiful song by the MASTER MARTY ROBBINS.
We love you Marty...
First heard this beautiful, sad song on the 'B' side of the Columbia 45 featuring El Paso City. As great (and popular) as EPC was, this song, imo, was better - just wish it were a little longer. Marty was one of the very best.
never you are simply the best a legend nobody comes close to you

I LOVE THIS BY THE GREAT MARTY ROBBINS, HE
WAS THE GREATEST SINGER EVERLAURIANNE LOWE CAPEGIL456@GMAILCOM
R.I.p. !! Marty !! 😢
This song could have also been sung by Jim Reeves ( a personal friend of his ) it would suited his style also
Marty's stands a great tear jerker in its own right....
@DAVID LOCKWOOD Jim Reeves was no friend of Marty's. Jim's wife Mary said he suffered with professional jealousy of Robbins vocal ability even though he was a fan of his. If you read Ralph Emery's book 'Memories' it will also say how Reeves refused to share studio time with Marty on an Emery show and Marty left the radio station so Reeves didn't have to share the spotlight. Such a shame when egos get in the way.
+Tarquin45 That is too bad to hear, I would rate Jim Reeves and Marty as the two best voices in Country Music, now and ever, and I couldn't say one was better than the other. It saddens me to think there was animosity between them.
+barrygioportmorien1 I agree Barry. I am a fan of both singers, but sadly as in any walk of life people don't get on with each other for a variety of reasons. Jim Reeves probably felt threatened by Marty's outstanding vocal ability, but need he have been so insecure because he was and still is, one of the all time great singers of the 20th Century.
Tarquin, I think this all began with a disagreement back stage with something the Reeves band members did and they never spoke again.
Anyway, Marty asks this question...Will you remember when I'm gone? Yes, Marty we will always remember.
Nevertheless, Jim always said Marty was his favorite singer.
I cannot understand why three people put a thumbs down on this video ?
Everyone isn't a country fan, or a Marty fan for that matter. When I was in the A.F. overseas I would go to the airman's club to play pool. Never could get a table, because a certain group had them covered continuously. One day I was looking at what they had on the juke box! Guess what!? It had Buck Owens on it. They had that full of quarters too, but mine would finally come up. I had both tables to myself, when he sang his first word. Son! They would leave out there like a covey of quail. Yeah, I know. That's what you call dirty pool. WAAAAAAAA-HA-HA NOPE! Some folks just can't handle hard core country. I'm the same way about that stuff they call " wrap ".

Iconic representation of the Western cowboy in music
No one does it better !
What an amazing talent.... Song writer, story teller, singer.... That kind of "gift" will never be forgotten. As long as music remains in this world.... he will be remembered as one-of-a-kind... He is sadly missed.

The song "When I'm gone " will you forget me, I don't think anyone that ever heard Marty sing will ever forget him. I think his wife and son are very lucky people, to have been in his life
His Son sound just like him !! Both are great .
None of us will forget Marty Robbins. He was a Wonderful person and an absolutely great singer / songwriter. His voice was like a caress. It is too bad that todays Country fans don't know Marty. The stuff they call music cannot compare.
