Marty Robbins - The Master's Touch Lyrics

Tonight a hand has touched me, was the Master
I thought that in this world it couldn't be
My heart, it paused a moment then beat faster
In the chapel as he gave her love to me

Tonight a hand has touched me, was the Master
In fondest dreams I knew it couldn't be
Through misty eyes I saw an angel smiling
In the chapel as he gave her love to me

I, trembling, placed my ring upon her finger
In fond embrace we kissed to seal our love
A hallowed light reflected teardrops falling
As sacred vows were echoed from above

Tonight a hand has touched me, was the Master
In fondest dreams I knew it couldn't be
Through misty eyes I saw an angel smiling
In the chapel as he gave her love to me

Ik stond versteld van de veelzijdigheid van deze rasartiest. Van country, gospel, easy listening. Alles zingt hij met gevoel. Geweldige artiest.

Again I get the goose bumps! Marty is such a smooth soulful singer. No one, absolutely noone can touch him. He sang it all from rock to country to Hawiian and Spanish. I'm so grateful I got to see him in concert shortly before he left us to sing in God's choir. Check my page to see the pictures I took of him that day. My favorite is when I just called Marty and he stopped to ppose for me. God bles him. We were so blessed to have him bring joy to our lives through his music and personality.

This song had got to be the national anthem of country music there is no where in the world you can find a voice to match this one in a thrillion voices, no where on this planet if any one can find one as cool or even near to this magical voice please upload and the world will be waiting to hear same oh mr marty why you didint leave this voice behind when you departed

    n.... c....

But he did leave the voice behind. In hundreds of songs he recorded, radio and tv shows and in films. The voice of Marty Robbins will live on as long as music is played and appreciated around the world.

Ay ay, my friend & his son Ronny isn't bad either, his daughter Janet is very talented as well. & beautiful as well but very different & haunting.

  14. t.... ....

It's a great song sung by a truly great singer. I think it would have been a great single and perhaps paired with his version of 'Padre.'

  15. c.... g....

My Uncle Hank Hanewinkel Sr wrote this song about Aunt Barb who he loved from the very beginning this is my favorite song of all time. Out of 9 kids and who knows how many grandkids they still carry on the music and song writing to this day.
    Hanewinkel's keeping the music alive.

"Marty stands alone no one can sing a song like the great "MAN"Scotland loves and will never forget !!

    t.... d....

Oh, there is another... just as great: Jim Reeves!

  19. p.... ....

@ALLUNEEDISLUV25 I think that I know which one of the nine you are! My mom and all the other mothers always said the same thing. They thought it was so romantic that he wrote a song about your mother who was also their friend. :-)

  20. p.... ....

I was one of the little neighborhood kids who knew the poet Hank Hanewinkel who wrote the words to this lovely song. When Marty Robbins wrote Mr Hanewinkel back to say that he'd accepted the song and would be recording it, it was big news in our little community for two reasons. One: That was the big time! and Two: Mr Hanewinkel was one of the nicest people that you ever could meet. My parents had a party and he came and played it for everyone to hear. A very wonderful memory!

    Beautiful music.

Marty was so gifted; a great addition to the Heavenly Choir.

Read one verse before you start your car; each time you start your car; seriously; try it for one week

Love this beautiful song and so happy to be able to hear it again here. The writer of this song was friend of my Father's. I always remember how proud Dad was of his friend writing this song and being recorded by the great Marty Robbins.

  26. 1.... ....

I first heard him sing when I was barely 11 yrs. old, and from that moment, I vowed to myself that I'm going to look for him when I grow up and marry him (that was a little girl's wishful thinking). But I found out that was no to be. He was gone from us so soon, but he left his songs for us to remember him by. I migrated to the US and was lucky to live in Texas. The first city that I visited was El Paso to relive his story of Rose's cantina and felina. Love you, Marty forever...

  27. j.... w....

The very best artist, ballads, love songs, patriotic, spiritual , he could sing them all. he had an excellent cast of musicians for accompaniment. His musicians could make spanish sounding music, sound very good. You have a treasure trove of music & most of it is a history lesson. Thanks to you & You Tube for letting me listen. i'm almost 80 yrs. old, this music is one of my pleasures.

  28. M.... ....

Tarquin45 love all your stuff, Marty along with johnny Cash is what got me hooked on country music for life. I also have to say Jim Reeves. The music lives on even though they have gone on.

  29. j.... ....

    never heard before, amazing

  30. t.... ....

Putting Marty on youtube was something tha has given me a lot of pleasure and it's great that he isn't forgotten. I'm amazed sometimes even after a virtual lifetime of being a fan just how talented he actually was. Aside from the beautiful voice he was a stunning songwriter who maybe never wrote the classics to rival perhaps Hank Williams or Don Gibson, but for sheer different kind of songs Marty surpassed any Country singer before or since.

  31. r.... ....

The song writer, Hank Hanewinkel, Sr., was my brother. This song was a tribute to his wife, Barb. Hank died in 2002 but his song will live forever thanks to Marty!

  32. D.... D....

happy holidays and a great new year to you tarquin! thanks for all the marty videos you share. keep on posting them.

  33. D.... D....

so lovely as always. marty is missed. my favorite singer forever.

  34. t.... ....

Thanks for the interesting information about the song Hank. Marty rarely recorded antything that was not written by himself or his affiliated writers as you say, but it must have been a great moment for your father to have the song accepted by him. I think it's a lovely song.

  35. D.... D....

another one tarquin thank u for sharing

  36. L.... S....

Thanks Tarquin, so was he saying it was all a dream?

  37. j.... ....

    Beautiful!!!!!

  38. L.... D....

I don't recall this one! Thank you, tarquin.
