Was this before or after he teamed up with Jerry? I only ask because you say the record was released in 1946, but the headline says "Dean will be the biggest singing star of 1944" if so, it seems that Dean was already receiving recognition for his singing pre- Martin and Lewis, which would put the lie to those who said that he would never have made it on his own without Jerry.

Well, let's just say that "Martin and Lewis" speed up things a whole lot for Dean; but he certainly was a well-known singer by 1944 (having opening a couple of shows for Sinatra, as Lewis would say in an interview in 2000). I guess that's how Dean and Jerry ended up crossing paths in the next few years (with different versions on how these two meet, it's quite difficult to give that for certain :/ ).

@Goedhartbros Caveman check the singing voice of the former vocalist of The Darkness (Justin Hawkins) and can you explain the diference? Keep doing your job (if you can do something) and don´t ask silly questions. Dean Martin snor was better than your speaking/singing voice.
