Marshall Tucker Band, The - Where A Country Boy Belongs Lyrics

I just threw my bottle at the jukebox
Got tired of hearing them same old songs
Gotta get myself back to Tennessee
Lord, where a country boy belongs

I kinda like those city women
When they walk by, Lord, and the way they smell
Gotta get myself back to Tennessee
Where the women and the wildcats, they both raise hell

Now let me tell you something city slicker
I didn't know this coochie was your wife
Put that gun back where it belongs
and I get myself on home
I'm gonna get on my hat, get back to Tennessee
Lord, where a country boy belongs

[Instrumental]

Now let me tell you something city slicker
I didn't know this coochie was your wife
Put that gun back where it belongs
And I get myself on home
I'm gonna get on my hat, get back to Tennessee
Lord, where a country boy belongs

I miss the seventies, this generation of music sucks, and never thought of this before but Doug Gray sounds a lot like Mark Farner.

This the sound track of my life. Summer of 74, just graduated, avoided gettin any of many pregnant and everyone I knew had everything these boys had done. the Rocky Mountains in Utah Idaho Wyoming echoed the music of Toy Caldwell i.e the Marshall Tucker Band. I will never forget.

Born in NYC grew up on Long (Strong) Island, the southern invasion of the early 70's was the best time for music, those bands didn't play here all the time for nothing! Why Tucker is not in the R&R hall of Fame is a damn shame!

...mi è rimasta e resterà nel cuore la "mitica" "Can't You See" che suonava Tanti Anni Fa la altrettanto mitica Moss Band di Osvaldo Ardenghi & Silvio Cassader!!..ciao da Ezio e sempre Long Life Rock'nRoll!!!

Johney "V" Vernazza is also playing on this cut.. That little slide guitar bit at the end, in harmony with Elvin Bishop.
