Marshall Tucker Band, The - Singing Rhymes Lyrics

Lord it seems, my whole life
Ain't been nothing but trouble
When I try to straighten things out
Hell, things double
Ever since I met you I'm doing what a man's supposed to do
About love

A lot of folks think that love is wrong
And they don't know what's going on
Ever since the day they told me your name
This old heart of mine has been under lock and chain
Of love

I always knew that you made the sun shine
I never thought I'd see the day I'd make you mine
And I'll always be singing rhymes
I'll always be writing lines
About love

Don't want you to think
I'm coming on a little too strong
Just wanna let you know
Ain't nothing going wrong

And everything I ever tried to do
Lord, it just comes right back to you
I guess that's what love's supposed to do
I'll always be singing rhymes
I'll always be writing lines
About love

And everything I ever tried to do
Lord, it just comes right back to you
I guess that's what love's supposed to do
I'll always be singing rhymes
I'll always be writing lines
I'll always be singing rhymes
I'll always be writing lines
About love

    Love this song !
    Especially Toy's voice...

not to steal this poster's thunder - but I will have this up on my vinyl youtube channel. But - until then - thanks for putting this up. and I agree with JustAintthatWay that it is a shame the MTB has been unfairly categorized into a narrow musical genre. They are, to me - in short - the quintessential American rock band...

There is no way to completely express my appreciation for the privilege of growing up listening to this wonderful music. Memories..........

Thanks for this.Haven't heard it since my turntable broke, many, many years ago now.Toy's evocative and precise guitar work and Tommy's bass thumping out that back beat.Good God, it didn't and still don't get no better than this.

hey, wait a minute. I thought I knew The MTB (aks huge fan). But a pal just played this song for me. It's my new favorite Marshall Tucker song. Prev. fav. was (will always be) Blue Ridge Mountain Sky (live from Stompin Room Only). Love this. Write-in campaign for the Rock and Roll HOF....

You have good taste. I too think that the version of Blue Ridge on Stompin Room Only is their best song. You can hear every instrument so well and the way that Toy fills in between the vocal lines with his guitar just doesn't come out in any other version of that song that I have heard. Simply MTB at their best.

    EXCELLENT!!
