Marshall Tucker Band, The - I'll Be Loving You Lyrics

When the morning sun
Melts the morning dew
I'll be loving you

When the evening sun
Tells me the day is done
I'll be loving you

[CHORUS]

And I'll be loving you
Until my dying days
And I'll be loving you
Just an old fool set in my ways

Although it seems
That you are in my dreams
I'll be loving you

Somehow I know
It's really gotta show
That I'll be loving you

[CHORUS]

It won't mean the same
If you never know my name
Cause I'll be loving you

When the morning sun
Melts the morning dew
I'll be loving you

[CHORUS]

Have loved these guys from day 1, and Can't You See will always be up there in my opinion, but asking the family to play this at my funeral will make my wife's tears turn to joy !!!

  6. J.... B....

The entire album tears you a new one!Breath taken away..

  7. c.... c....

I saw them on the tour for this album.
They were like seeing Weather Report, Return to Forever, Al Dimeola, etc.
The albums didn't even scratch the surface. George McCorkle was the secret weapon-1 lead solo on ONE song, and it was like John McLaughlin suddenly appeared on stage. Paul T. Riddle is still unmatched today as the greatest drummer of all time.
Doug is still out touring with a terrific band, keeping the music alive, and if he shows up, go see them.

  8. n.... ....

The perfect sound from a perfect band! Their music never gets old.

one of the most under rated bands of all time.  I loved them since I was ten years old... Saw them when  was in 7th grade.  I'm 50 ish

  16. m.... k....

Toy found a key in the place where they practiced.... it said marshall tucker on it... the rest is history

  17. m.... k....

    They were a gift

  18. T.... T....

"I'll Be Loving You" was released as a single. Why didn't it become a Top-40 hit for the Marshall Tucker Band? This song rocked, this song rolled, and the band was on fire! I'd like to see today's rock bands play that good. Will never happen, though. Just my humble opinion.

  19. r.... ....

I feel about Marshall Tucker, the way most people feel about the Eagles.

  20. J.... R....

It's amazing how much great music these guys put out in just a few short years.

Still a sweet tune , damn I miss the 70's heyday of killer bands of the Tucker Boys and the Allmans.. They were on fire then , good weed, cold beer and great frickin music..

  32. J.... C....

My they just kept smoking until My dying day just a old fool yeah

  33. J.... P....

    best band ever

  34. P.... L....

Paul riddle was so awesome truly under rated. Neil peers couldn,t hold a candle to Paul riddle and butch trucks

    P.... L....

Love this band....i introduced them on stage at a music fest in wisconsin....coolest moment ever

    P.... L....

If you mean Neal Peart I can guarantee you he would have found a way to play this great jam. Not to downplay Riddle's ability at all he was one of the best. But Peart isn't the Professor for nothing. He adapted many styles and can play anything. Paul absolutely kills this though

    P.... L....

Yeah. It seems like Toy said to Paul let’s go. And they did. One of their best songs and definitely their best album

  35. o.... ....

One of the most phenomenal grooves I have ever heard. I can't stop listening.

  36. J.... C....

    Artie the Boyos Mig

  37. N.... j....

  38. P.... S....

There will always be a special place in my heart for these guys and their music. The first band I ever saw live. I'll never forget and still love their music. The hallways of my mind is filled with the music from the band from Spartanburg.

  39. C.... V....

  43. J.... C....

    Keeps on coming Ah Doug

  44. s.... j....

the most under rated band in rock history . and the most under rated guitarist ever !!

    s.... j....

Fans of mob know how good toy wad. I would put him up against the best and I think he would win.

    s.... j....

Id say TOY was the best guitarist ever IMO.   All based on technique, most unique tone and playing, song writing.....plus he played acoustic and pedal steel.  Pretty hard to top that!    I always say..... he was just exciting to watch as someone like Hendrix.

    s.... j....

Not really, Everyone that ever hear him when the band began till the end knew just what an amazing player he was. Anyone hearing him for the first time as these days are floored to learn he did all this with his thumb & heart. I don't think he was underrated at all. For the thousands that were luck to have seen MTB in 73 & on Live sure as hell did not consider him underrated one bit.

    s.... j....

steven jones unfortunately this beautiful album gpt no radio play.

    s.... j....

Unfortunately this beutiful album got no radio play.

  45. J.... S....

wonder where rolling stone had toy ranked. song writer, arranger, picker. He's up there with Keith Richards and Jerry GArcia the greatest musicians of all time

  47. A.... B....

Most underated musicians in rock history. The Hall should be ashmed of themselves for not having the Tucker boys inducted!! Had the pleasure of meeting the original band after a show in Providence, RI. All gentleman and even took us out to the tour bus and gave us autographed pics! Never forget it and what a show!!

  48. W.... ....

Why has nobody uploaded Love is a Mystery? This whole album should be uploaded. Nostalgic for my college days now....good times.

    J.... B....

You could show them pictures of instruments and they wouldn't know what they are

  53. M.... ....

    Listen to it LOUD!

  54. G.... I....

Paul makes this tune soooo much sound like there are like 2-3 drummers, all on his own. He is incredible and so underrated.....
Just sit back and jam on and enjoy the rhythms and you will understand.... He is so so talented. Just one of the best drummers in history. Even Neal Pert with Rush....

    G.... I....

I agree he is good.Does sound like 2 drums.Huge Neil fan.

  55. d.... ....

    L.... M....

+Learning More Their music WILL ALWAYS be.

    L.... M....

They will always be around in the hearts souls of all who love and remember the great music these wonderful musicians have given such joy and great times their souls have given to us fans.

  67. P.... O....

"I'll be loving you , just an old fool stuck in my ways"...

    P.... O....

+Patrick O'LAUGHLIN Morning sun Evening done, OMFG what great lyrics.

  68. K.... O....

Everything about this song is perfect, vocally, lyrically, musically; the drums are killer, the bass line is amazing and Toy's guitar work is stellar, reminiscent of Can't You See in it's plaintive cry.  It makes no sense that this was not a number one smash for this band.  Makes one quite sad.

    K.... O....

This is one of those songs that when it starts you could be ready to kill but by the end your singing and tapping your foot and drumming away and smiling

    K.... O....

+Kimberly O Don't leave out McCorkle - he's ON FIRE plying rhythm guitar,.

    K.... O....

@JustAintThatWay very true! George is is awesome on everything tho ;)

    K.... O....

    best damn song ever

    K.... O....

absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt awesome

  69. K.... K....

Great song and Album. This is one my favorite, also Ride Like the Wind. Like to heard this one and Ride Like the Wind more on the Radio. Band sound is very orginal, can not think of another band that has Marshall Tucker Band's sound.

  70. j.... ....

"Just an old fool, set in my ways"......yeah, I can definitely relate! Fantastic song from a great album......

  71. G.... I....

This song is with ONE DRUMMER!!! HE makes it sound like there are 2 at least. Man these guys could jam. They toured MORE than the Dead. Seriously. They toured 330 days and the Dead toured 300.     Saw them in 1977 in Buffalo NY and they were in thier prime. Saw them again in 1992 - it was sad and depressing since all but 2 of the originals were left. Sad. I grew up in N Fla. on thier 8-tracks and cassettes...... We loved this band and still do. Thanks for the post! Love it!

  72. M.... D....

@ CurtisLowe...you MUST know Southern Rock since your name resembles the famous Dobro player immortilized by Lynyrd Skynyrd. A fav of mine.

Going to see Blackberry Smoke 3/22/14 House of Blues Houston. Can't wait.

@damithackman:  My Opus, "In My Own Way"

    M.... D....

How was Blackberry? Just got turned on to them! Will NOT miss them next time they come thru...carpe diem

  73. C.... L....

oh my...awesome....simply awesome song. I grew up in small town Indiana and we used to drive around the cornfields of our town CRANKING this song. I've been long gone from that place but the memories linger as I've been around the world. What good young southern bands are out there today that can match this...Derek Trucks Band? Blackberry Smoke? I will search...call me the breeze...carpe diem.

  74. M.... E....

I'm 23 and I love it!! I play my parents record all the time, it doesn't matter when you grew up, it is such a great song that you can't help but want to just jam out to! Timeless!

  75. R.... C....

    AGREE !!

  76. B.... ....

Goose bumps everytime I hear this!!! MTB's music will live on FOREVER-TOGETHER

  77. s.... ....

i don't think Southern rock is a tragic term, i'm from nepal and 27 years old....even my friends don't believe me listening to these music so often..... i listen to almost all kinds of songs from 60's 70's 80's and early 90's ....MTB, ABM , lynard are my fav southern rock bands.... led zep is my fav....finding southern rock was like opening a treasure box for me....these people are genius man......i love southern rock and that's what i like calling them,,,,it's not country for sure...it's rock

    s.... ....

rock on I was lucky to have seen this band and others

    s.... ....

Slowrock. That’s great man. I love the image of a 27 yo Nepali rocking to Southern American rock. Long live Nepal!

  78. F.... I....

they r still the best, and this song drives that point home!!

    F.... I....

    The absolute prime of music.

  79. d.... h....

you cant top them because very few groups can jam, harmonize, and have a melody at the same time

  80. f.... h....

im a Carolina boy who grew up thinking this was the only band who could represent this state, and MTB could deliver like no other, i have seen them with all the Southern greats,CDB,Grinderswitch,38,Outlaws,Molly and on and on...it was hard to top these boys,Toy was a master on that black les paul

  81. d.... h....

this is a great tune, but for me, In my one way would be the song i all my girl friends would relate to.

  82. y.... ....

great album, will always be in my top 10 forever, it's a shame more people never heard it or know it's out there, great music beginning to end, would put it on when friends came over to play poker and they would ask "is this a best of or greatest hits?"

  83. s.... ....

    Also,
theme song for every man who wished he had married a good woman.

  84. S.... ....

Theme song for every man that married a good woman .....

  85. d.... ....

    wow great song

  86. L.... Y....

Pure Tucker boys and girls, this is music! I love this song to pieces.gonna listen to it again case I'm set in ways too!

  87. d.... ....

thanks to the gut that posted this song

  88. j.... ....

One of my all time favorite songs by one of my all time favorite bands featuring one of my all time favorite guitarists!

  89. j.... ....

    Great song.......

  90. d.... ....

This IS my most favorite Tucker song!!!! The whole grove/lyrics of this song is beyond words! Paul T. Riddle drove this song with such feeling and FUNK! :-)

  91. J.... ....

man sometimes i wish the term 'southern rock' had never been invented

to me it's almost tragic so many will never even take the time to listen to this disc
just b/c it has to be categorized as such

every track on this album is a gem a polished gem
and this one the crown jewel

    thnx for the tuber

  92. R.... D....

@JustAintthatWay naway mule pullin a load!!!!! ohhhhh yeah

  93. R.... D....

one of the most underrated bands, there songs are pure gold and beautifully crafted

  94. k.... ....

@Ltrainxpress THE WHOLE BAND WAS UNDERRATED,COULD YOU IMAGINE MUSIC WITHOUT THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND.

  95. L.... ....

@JustAintthatWay I think George was very underrated as a song writer. Check out the song Silverado on Running like the Wind which was written by George. Also check out My Sweet Elaine from Tuckerized. I read he wrote in songs in Nashville for artists there after MTB disbanded. I need to see if I could find some songs he did

  96. J.... ....

whenever i hear this song i realize again it is my favorite of all time

    hard to decipher here but
mccorkle's rhythm guitar part on this thing is the most
under-rated 'southern rock' performance i ever heard

it's a runaway mule team pulling a load of mountain dew moonshine
bound for the gods' ultimate jubilee (and im an atheist!)
    go george go!

sure toy's on fire here (what else is new?) but mccorkle
    was one helluva guitarist too
