Marmalade - Lovin' Things Lyrics

It's the lovin' things you do
That make me grow so close to you
Gonna want you my whole life through
For the lovin' things, baby that you do

It's the lovin' things you say
That give me comfort every day
By your side I'm gonna stay
To hear the lovin' things, baby that you say

Since that day our love began
I've become a new and happy man
I can hold my head up high
When you are near I touch the sky

With your soft and sweet caress
You brought me such tenderness
To think I was once forsaken
With your kiss I've been awakened

It's the lovin' things you do
That make me grow so close to you
Gonna want you my whole life through
For the lovin' things, baby that you do

Then you walked into my life
Said how you'd soon end all my strife
With a smile from your young face
You gave me back my inspiration

It's the lovin' things we share
That assures me how you care
Our friends call us the perfect pair
For the lovin' things, baby that we share

It's the lovin' things you do
That make me grow so close to you
Gonna want you my whole life through
For the lovin' things, baby that you do

It's the lovin' things you say
That give me comfort every day
By your side I'm gonna stay
To hear the lovin' things, baby that you say

Arranged by Keith Mansfield. Highly likely Clem Cattini on drums (Keith & Clem much in evidence on Everlasting Love by Love Affair!)

  17. Floyd Smith

My God where can I start. Marmalade were part of the sound track of my childhood and youth and this track was always there if I needed a bit of a lift if feeling down. I happened to visit Youtube today and see the tributes to Dean Ford. I had not heard before then that Dean had passed away a few days earlier. I am sure that everyone of my generation growing up in the late sixties and through the seventies would say thanks my friend for shaping our lives in such a great way with your undoubted musical genius. Your music lives on. Rest in peace Dean.

    68blues

    jenny talia

Totally agree, best time of my life was between 1965 - 1975, would love to live those ten tears over and over .

    68blues

I'll add my tuppence worth....1964 till 1969. Damn! That was as cool as it ever got music wise. That's only my opinion off course.
1968 i thought was the cream.

  25. Kjell Skeie

    - Here is finally the ORIGINAL single recording !!! - Released as a single : Friday 26. April 1968 - reaching # 6 on 3. July '68 !

    Colin Miller

Brilliant, British pop at it's best

    Martyn Beer

At last! Is this the same version that used to be paired with the b/w stills of what looked like a young Brigitte Bardot before it got zapped?
Thank you , the other versions don't come close to this .

    68blues

Kjell Skeie ....fifty years ago and seems like yesterday. 1968, a great year for memories and the songs that go with them.
